He can't be stopped. Sorry about that.
All it took was for city players to discover Haalands' playing style and boom! They adjusted accordingly.
With KDB and Foden pulling the strings, I'm afraid the only thing that would prevent Haaland form attaining 50+ goals this season is long term injury, which unfortunately, he is very prone to. cry
Liverpool lol...

Current Liverpool will struggle to beat RB Salzburg. You can counter ooo but there's a reason why they lost 4:0 against Napoli and needed a last gasp goal to beat Ajax at Anfield

Liverpool are currently not good anyhow you want to spin it.

Haaland is still adapting to life in the tough EPL. What a tough league this is.

He's not going to the world cup so he'll hit full gear after the world cup with tired players returning from the hot sun in Qatar.

And what future are you talking about? When he's 30? Lol.
Jutgla is almost 24 and he's a mid striker flourishing in an inferior league.
His time at Barcelona was over. He's just not good enough.
This is not criticism Lmao. You're just shitting on Jutgla lol.

Football does not start and end at 24. Henrik Larson was old when he joined Barca. I watched him assist two goals in the 2006 UCL final. He also later joined United and if I can remember correctly, helped United to another league title.

As good as Benzema has been, he only started getting serious recognition and respect two or three years ago. At 34, he'll win his first Balondo'r. The same award some footballers win at 19.

I don't know about you but playing in an inferior league can only mean so much to some players. Davies was playing in Canada. A league considered to be very inferior. Today he's one of the, if not the best LB in the world playing for one of the best team in the world as starter.

Martineli was playing in the second tier of Brazilian football. Today, he's one of the most feared players in the EPL; A league considered by many to be the toughest/physical.

I don't really care how old Jutgla is but he has showed great promise and will come good. He needed to move in order to play.

That's it....

Peace!!!

I pray he's selected for the world cup. Very aggressive player with an eye for goal. He never had a bad game for the first team even though sample size is incredibly small.

Like Cucu, Alena, Denis Suarez, Puig, etc sticking around would've been counter productive for him because #NoSpace.

Let's see what the board will do with him in the future!

Most Barca fans here are shit tbh

You guys let emotions cloud your reasonings...with did Alonso, Ferran, Xavi do wrong?!

I say things the way they are...our worst players yesterday were Dembele and Raphinha...end of list.

Dembele was stark terrible, his mistake led to the build up of Bayern's second goal

Imagine some people saying Pedri was shit...wow...just wow

i don tire for una...i swr
Lol

Dembele is pure chaos. He gives the ball away like it's a fun thing to do. He's always been that way and it's worrying. In small games, he'll make it up with a goal or assist. In big games, he'll ghost it. His big game miss against Liverpool is something I may not forget. He was so damm erratic against Bayern. Xavi should teach him how to protect the ball and make better decisions.

Alonso did well against Bayern but he remains a needless signing. Balde and Alba are better.

Raphinha was overwhelmed but he's a new signing. Time will help him.

I think we were great, Lewy missed two clear chances, Pedri did too but played well. Gavi is a beast. The result did not reflect on the overall performance.

I think we'll be fine!

Moutinho was a key member in his 2016 euro winning squad that's why I typed recently , The way you are hammering on inverted winger, inverted winger as if Silva doesn't play multiple roles even a false 9, when I said he plays 6 you said it's false, Oga please go and watch Belgium vs Portugal Euros Round of 16 and see how the passive Santos become active to deploy Silva with gaining control of the midfield to find an equalizer even if I don't watch Portugal as much as you do Also can't a controller be creative, Xavi did that for us in 2008/2009, even also moving close to the wings sometimes and gave more than 20 assists in all comps though some were closed play, Silva might be an inverted AM or even a false 9 which he did but if he came to our midfield he'll be our major controller cause he while pedri will be the advanced playmaker
Bernardo was a winger/AM at Monaco. When he joined city, Pep played him in multiple positions including F9. It annoyed Silva so much that there were rumours that he wanted out.

However, when David Silva left, Pep turned Bernardo to a complete midfiled controller, making use of his low center of gravity, dribbling skills, speed, passing and pausa to really control and dominate games.

Infact, last season, Bernardo played so deep that Rodri was seen further forward which resulted in many goals for Rodri who is a DM.

This season, Pep is again switching Bernardo, sometimes to the right wing, and sometimes in the middle to play with Rodri.

Silva is a confirm midfield controller. Very few midfielders in the world right now understand space, timing and positioning like him. The closest interms of pure midfield control are may be Veratti, Kimmich and Pedri.

He was a winger/Am in the past . But as we speak, he's a controller, a proper one at that.

You can't argue this if you watch Silva and City regularly. Forget what the Portuguese Grenort Rohr is doing with that talented Portuguese team.

I'm not quoting the wrong person, I just don't wanna bother culler. He has his point and that's his personal opinion.

Alvarez is clearly the better option for me.

Better tackler and runner. Better passer
The perfect DM for Chelsea is now at Fulham.

That's said,

Alvarez is more like a raw Casemiro. He tackles alot, sometimes too much. He's very defensive and can play CB very well. He's not a great passer to be honest. He's like a defender playing in midfield.

Sangare is a better passer and a better player all round. A complete midfielder who will fit the "physical Chelsea" kind of player. He's also a better ball progressor. He's more like Partey of arsenal. I won't forget to add that on his off days, he's Bakayoko pro max

I think Chelsea will go for Alvarez though.

Messi's La Masia set at Barca is similar to Man United academy class of 1992.

Both clubs Revere those two generations and try to replicate it several times over the years but it's just not working.

The management of both clubs forget that such things is an outlier and not the norm. It only happens once in a century and by pure chance and luck.
You're simply just playing with semantics because your assertion is not true.

For starters, Barcelona and United to some extent are known for their youth system which brought them so much success.

Let's start with United. The 1992 class dominated English football until Sir Alex left. When he left and United started spending millions on players like Lukaku, Maguire, Fred, Fellaini, Lindelof, Pogba, Dimaria, etc, they became a normal team. Because they forgot what worked for them.

Fergie bought some expensive smart players like Rio, Berbatov, Van Persie, etc. to compliment the academy boys or some cheap smart signings like Carrick, Evra, Vandersar etc.

United is where they are today because they failed to build on the success of the 1992 class. They thought they could be like Madrid who are known for finding success with Galatcico signings.

On Barcelona. No words, the complete negligence of Barca B is why this club is completely bankrupt. It started with the signing of Neymar. Yes Neymar was good but his signing was the Genesis.

Then the signing of Grizeman, Coutinho, Dembele, Paulinho, Vidal, DeJong. All these players were not needed and considering their wages, they were needless. People will argue for DeJong, but DeJong is nothing but white Pogba, he simply does not fit whether we agree or not.

Had they (Barca) stood for what worked(La Masia) for them in the past, there will be no brokelona or what have you.

With FCB Athletic, things are getting better with the promotion of Gavi, Pena, Araujo, Fati***, Nico and even Balde.

United are also on the right track with some key youth promotions.

Moral: Never forget your root and stick with what worked for you.

Capaldi:
I was just about to say the same thing. He is asking for scouting report from people who don't even watch any matches from their league except the teams they support. They didnt even know the player exist until few minutes ago.
Big man what you have up here may or may not be true but I'll speak only for myself. I watch lots of games both in EPL and Laliga and Guido is pretty known following his exploit in the just concluded Copa America.

Unless you're a "paid" scout, it's not important you watch all games in order to assess a player. You don't need to follow West Ham to know how good Rice is, same with Bisouma, Robertson at Hull City, Holjberg at Southampton, Raphinha at Leeds, the list is endless. After watching these guys against top sides, it's easy to know their level.

I tell you, a game between Real Betis vs Athletic Bilbao will excite you more than a game between Burnley and West Ham. EPL is the best league in the world with more viewership and entertainment there's no doubt about that but I'm sure you don't watch all EPL games because of this reason.

Ibime, on Guido, since you don't like escorts like Rodri, Busquets and Jorginho, I think Guido is your perfect guy. He's always the most defensive in a midfield two(double pivot). As a single pivot playing without Parades in a 4:3:3 he's very defensive, almost playing like a third CB in transition.

Standing at almost 6ft2, he's very good in the air, and can score headers. His passing is okay, weak foot use is average, tackles is good, he's of course faster and more defensively aware than Jorginho.

The problem with him though is that, he's not good in tight space. He tends to release the ball far too quickly in order not to give it away, in a nutshell, he's not press resistant. I think that's the only downside to his game.

Upside: He's definitely not an escort and covers the ground so well!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by oliverano: 9:03pm On Feb 09, 2022

Donstan18!!!

I understand that most football analyst on nairaland(SM in general) are more knowledgeable than Pep, Mourinho, Sir Alex, TuKle, Klopp etc. However, the idea that Mane is the one carrying Liverpool is actually a new low. It's the lowest of takes on the internet right now.

Salah is not a system player but a world class player. He's also not a defensive liability but a pressing machine. Mane is also a world class player but Salah is better than him.

If you're a fan of Manchester United and you agree that Salah is a defensive liability and a system player, then you're also sh!!ting on your very own legends and some of the greatest footballers of all time.

A forward especially the one playing in a classic 4-3-3 is judged based on goals and assist or in some cases pre assist. The job of the interiors i.e the LCM and the RCM is to protect both flanks.

Salah is a pressing machine whose defensive inputs stops in midfield in case of a quick transition. Klopp knows he can score goals that's why it's that way. You want Salah to defend into his own defensive zone yet you argue that Ronaldo should play closer to goal.

Posting "pure defensive stats" to judge a forward is another new low. Messi scored 90goals in 2012. Pedro also hit double figures but he had the best defensive stats among the forwards. Was he the one carrying the team? In 2015, Suarez had the best defensive stats among the forwards, hit double figures with MSN but we all know who carried that team.

The one that "knows ball" posted "pure defensive stats" like clearance, blocks etc to judge a forward in 2022. I'm talking about "you no no ball merchant"

So Mr Donstan18, From your logic,

Ryan Giggs arguably the greatest player in premier league history is a system player. He won "only" with Sir Alex/Manutd and won absolutely nothing for Wales, abi Wales no be country?

Scholes
Xavi once said that Paul Scholes is called "the teacher" in Barcelona/La Masia but Scholes won nothing outside Manutd. System player abi England no fit win something?

Rio Ferdinand
Same story... does it mean that one of the greatest defenders in England was also a system player?

Kevin Debrunye
He joined City in 2015 and won nothing aside two DFB cup at Wolfsburg in a league you consider to be operating at division 8 level. In 2017, with the help of Pep, he's been able to win 3EPL so far with City and some Cups but nothing for Belgium. System player?

Salah also won two league titles for FC Basel.

The idea is not to convince but to educate

Tenks!!!

These questions are immaterial tbh.

I didn’t claim that Rodgers having a preseason was key to his success.

However, as old and wise as you are, you should know that starting a season with a team that isn’t in bad form is better than starting a season with a team that has wide cracks in its squad.

And surely, you’re wise enough to know that results after 7 games wouldn’t define your season, given that 7 is 15% of the 46 games in the championship that season.

We’ve played more than 25% of games in the EPL. That’s enough time to decide if a team will win the league or not. It’s not enough to decide who will get relegated.
You simply don't have any counter argument for Ole. doc asked you four or five critical questions and you've failed to answer any.

Ole is not better than Graham Potter and you're comparing him with Rodgers who's a standard EPL manager.

Rodgers is good but not a great manager but damn it. He's WAY better than Ole lol

I won't be shocked to see Rodgers linked with PSG. I mean Pochetino, Amaka's cousin dey coach dia. Even Emery also coached dia.

Ole can never be linked with a top job again because he's utterly useless.

I'm saying all these as a neutral.

Please what is your opinion on getting bikes on hire purchase and, what areas in Lagos will they be best deployed
On my opinion on where to work with your bikes if your mind is bent on getting one or two...

I have this advice to give.

Lagos is a port city and the most populous city in Nigeria. Any smart worker will make it in Lagos. it's not about hard work, it's about being smart.

Top locations

Ikeja, yaba, surulere, iyana ipaja, Magodo

Don't go to Lagos Island-Ajah, money dey that side well. Most will use their ride(car) for trans.

In the above mentioned locations, focus on Ikeja. Most people, average to rich, you'll see them in Ikeja mainland.

Ikeja: Allen, ICM-Alausa area, Ogba.

Just focus on Ikeja area. You'll make it.

However, if you're not staying in Ikeja, stay in your area and do it with focus and commitment. Lagos is big enough.

You can fly with other birds.

Peace!!!
