The following are the different categories of people you will meet in night classes in our various higher institution.

10. The pingers: this set of people will never let their phones be. Some will even come with up to three phone. Pressing their phone every now and then that you will wonder if they are actually studying or proof-reading.

You may be right about edo state. I finished secondary in 83 and know that free education still lasted till around 87 in oyo state.
I was in primary 6 during the coup, and free education was abolished immediately in Bendel State (present day Edo and Delta States). Useni was the military administrator.

OP, I DON'T REALLY KNOW THE PARTICULAR STATE WHERE YOU GOT THIS FROM BECAUSE EDUCATION WERE FREE IN THE WESTERN STATE THEN AS INTRODUCED BY UPN; I KNOW AND STILL REMEMBER THAT AMBROSE ALI WAS THE GOVERNOR OF BENDEL STATE THEN. THE ONLY MONEY WE PAID THEN WAS FOR OUR WAEC WHICH IS N38.

I FINISHED SECONDARY SCHOOL IN THE EARLY 80s IN IBADAN AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT THE ONLY PRIVATE SECONDARY SCHOOL THAT I KNOW IN THE WHOLE OF IBADAN IS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL IBADAN. ALMOST ALL SCHOOL THEN WERE PUBLIC SCHOOLS WITH GOOD QUALITY EDUCATION. OUR MATHS AND ENGLISH TEACHER THEN WERE FROM GHANA WHILE OUR FRENCH TEACHER IS FROM TOGO, MOST OF OUR NIGERIAN TEACHERS WERE WELL QUALIFIED TO TEACH THEIR VARIOUS SUBJECTS.
Present day Edo/Delta States. Tuition fees were introduced by your current president during his fist coming. I was in primary school then.

May his soul rest in peace.

However, are we now in a military regime? The army should protect the borders of the country. Where are they usually located whenever the Cameroonian army encroach into the country killing, looting and raping? May the hand that pulled the trigger to kill that innocent man wither and die, and may the mouths that tried to frame him up become cancerous.
BusinessRe: FG Takes Ownership Of Funds In Bank Accounts Not Linked To BVNs by olmoRoc: 11:20am On Oct 22, 2017
Atlanticfire:
I have been outside Nigeria for over 5 yrs. I had some money in zenith bank before I left.

The account has not been linked to any bvn because I don't even remember the account number.

I have never held any public office.

So going by the reasoning of the government and the reasoning of some people here, the money in my account must be stolen money that should be forfeited to the government just because the account does not have bvn.

This is a case of guilty until proven innocent.
Why does a government think that robbing it's citizens is a good policy
It just goes to show how criminally minded this government is. I know someone here as well is has millions in his account and hasn't gone home in about 7 years, who is a hard-working individual. Do they want to tell me that they have the right to help themselves to his money? We always think about having reserve funds back home in case of the unexpected, but I guess I'm lucky not to have what I can't walk away from in my account there. Thieves!

Remember, earlier today The Economic and Financial Crime Commission arrested the commissioner for finance Ekiti state.

See earlier thread here - https://www.nairaland.com/4084968/efcc-arrests-ekiti-finance-commissioner

Governor Fayose has hence taken to Twitter to react to the saga.

See tweet below;
They are all going to defect to the ruling party of the day before they get arrested. That is one very big issue with present day Nigerian politics.
