Chief Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Services Ltd., has expressed his deeply felt condolences to the people and government of Anambra State over the Christmas Eve fire disaster which claimed the lives of several persons in Nnewi – his home town. At least eight residents of the industrial town of Nnewi, in Anambra State, were reportedly burnt to death in a raging fire when a gas plant, owned by Inter Corp Oil Limited, a member of the Chikason Group, exploded, spreading death and destruction through the town. “It is with deep shock that we received the news of the explosion and ensuring fire that rocked Chikason Gas plant in Nnewi on the 24th of December, 2015, leading to the loss of valuable lives as the people of Nnewi were already in celebratory mood over the ofala festival and 90th birthday of Igwe Kenneth Orizu 111 – Igwe Nnewi. The tragic news and consequent loss of lives has filled our hearts with profound grief and regret. “In this time of bereft, we wish to offer our sincere commiseration to the families of those lost at this unfortunate incident. Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sympathy that we feel for the untimely loss of your beloved ones, but please accept our deepest condolences for the immeasurable and irreparable loss. “I was in deep shock when I heard the news of the tragic incident and I had tears in my eyes. These people who perished are my people. It is heart-breaking,” said Chief Ubah, who is himself a prominent son of Nnewi. He prayed to God to grant eternal peace to all the dead and to give the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the painful loss of their loved ones. President Muhammadu Buhari, Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano, the traditional ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu and many other prominent Nigerians have also commiserated with the people and government of Anambra State over the tragic incident and the monumental destruction – the type of which Nnewi had never experienced before in its entire history. Eyewitnesses said the fire accident, which started about 11:00am on Thursday, was caused by an explosion which occurred when a truck attempted to discharge its contents without waiting for the mandatory cooling time while customers were refilling their cylinders at the same time. The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed that eight persons died in the tragic incident, while six other persons were seriously injured and were rushed to hospital. Apart from the lives lost to the inferno, many buildings and vehicles around the gas plant were equally destroyed by the fire. 1. THOU SHALL NOT DOUCHE This is the first and most important commandment of a healthy vagina. The vagina is self-cleansing; I repeat the Vagina is self-cleansing!! You putting in stuff to wash it or make it smell better will damage its ability to self-clean. You can however wash the outside of your Vj with baby soap and water while having a regular bath, but please endeavor to leave the inner parts of your vagina alone. 2. THOU SHALL WEAR COTTON PANTIES OVER ANY OTHER MATERIALS Whether its Victoria's secret or handmade, the importance of cotton panties cannot be overemphasized. It dries quickly so it helps avoid dampening environment where bacteria can grow. Also it allows passage of air unlike the nylon panties that prevent air passage and encourages yeast infection. So when next you visit the store stay away from fancy silk, lacy or synthetic materials( save them for special occasions maybe). 3. THOU SHALL REGULARLY TRIM YOUR PUBIC HAIR Haba…are we growing a forest down there lady? Hair is good, too much” No, No! Many women take trimming the pubic hair for granted. Fortunately like trimming the under arm hair, trimming vaginal hair helps keep the vagina healthy and clear of ODOUR. Excessive pubic hair can cause increased moisture which can encourage bacteria growth and also hair infections such as folliculitis etc. Hence, trim next weekend. 4. THOU SHALL STAY AWAY FROM VAGINAL SPRAYS, SOAPS AND BUBBLE BATH Young women commonly use vagina products which are never necessary since we reiterated that the vagina is self-cleaning. The FDA U.S studies show that vaginal products cause more harm than good. The sprays do not clear odors instead they alter the vagina PH and predispose the vagina to irritation and invasion by bacteria colony. Stay away from such and keep your privates natural. 5. THOU SHALL CLEAN FROM FRONT TO BACK Many ladies visit the gynecology clinic scared, saying they have toilet infection, recounting how they visited their friend’s house and used their toilet just to come down with an infection. Truth is many women introduce these infections themselves by cleaning their down below from the back to the front, in so doing they transport bacteria in the anal region into the vagina. Clean instead from front to back with clean wipes. 6. THOU SHALL REGULARLY WEAR LOOSE FITTING CLOTHES It’s good to look sexy, however regular tight clothing like skinny pants or tight bum shorts can have effects on the vagina like that of nylon pants (ref. 2nd commandment). Tight clothing trap moisture and fluid which can cause yeast, bacterial infection and commonly rash, unlike loose clothing. So when next you visit the tailor leave some width to breathe. 7. THOU SHALL DRINK PLENTY OF WATER Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! These days women focus on wine, juice, soda to quench their thirst. They often forget that water has many therapeutic effects on the whole body and helps purify the vagina. It also helps through urination, to clean the urethra from pelvic infections. 8. THOU SHALL MONITOR STRANGE VAGINAL BEHAVIOR Do not take laws into your hands, this is why doctors exist. If you notice any changes down there like itch, odor, discharge or pain, do not go ahead and take a cocktail of over the counter drugs or vaginal creams and adjuncts products. Instead consult your nearest physician quickly. 9. THOU SHALL DO REGULAR PAP SMEAR The rate of cervical and vaginal cancers in the world is very high and Nigerians are not excluded either. Pap smear helps detect cancer causing viruses and pre-cancerous cells in the vagina so once you are sexually active meet your doctor for a pap smear. Prevention is always better than cure. 10. THOU SHALL NOT HAVE MULTIPLE SEXUAL PARTNERS This is the final commandment…if you are juxtaposing partners; it’s a good move to stay faithful to one and while you're at it please be safe, use a condom. The dangers of multiple sexual partners or a single partner with multiple sexual partners cannot be over emphasized. The risk of sexually transmitted infections(STIs) and cancer is high in these persons. So don’t dillydally about choosing a single partner, act now for the safety of your vagina and health. The senator representing Kaduna North, Shehu Sani, has condemned the Kaduna State government for organising music festival as the nation faces economic and security challenges. “Attending Kaduna Musical festival amounts to canonization of Emperor Nero. I call on President Muhammadu Buhari to reject the invitation to attend the charade called Kaduna Music festival", he said “It’s a contradiction and morally reprehensible that the same Kaduna State government that declared that it will no longer finance pilgrimage to Saudi and Jerusalem and that it refuses to sponsor Ramadan feeding for the poor and Tafsir, but now have enough money to sponsor and host a musical jamboree,” said the senator. “The event is an indecent and immoral proposition and an affront to the people of Kaduna, the North and the whole of Nigeria struggling to survive economic hardships and pervasive insecurity. “It’s shameful, disgraceful, irresponsible and utterly insensitive that at this sorrowful and mournful season of bloodshed and economic difficulties, the Kaduna state government and so called ‘banks and the private sector’ have jointly decided to feast, make merry and dance on the graves of victims of Boko Haram insurgency in the North. http://www.metronaija.com/2015/12/president-buhari-should-not-honour.html cc: lalasticlala |

President Buhari will leave for South Africa tomorrow December 3rd to participate in the Forum on China/Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). A statement issued by the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, says that during the forum Buhari will have a meeting with Chinese president, Xi Jinping, on how to re-commence stalled rail projects under new terms that would see China providing nearly all the financing required. The statement in part reads "Of particular interest is the coastal railway project stretching for 1,402 kilometres linking Lagos in the west with Calabar in the South; a project that is expected to be financed with $12 billion Chinese loan and which will create about 200,000 jobs. Another rail project that will be up for renegotiation is the $8.3bn Lagos-Kano standard gauge modernisation project, of which only a segment, Kaduna-Abuja, had reached completion stage. President Buhari is also expected to discuss ways of removing all obstacles in the way of the 3,050 MW Mambila Power Station, considered a strategic project which was conceived in 1982 but has not taken off. The Chinese president had informed President Buhari of the willingness of his country to finance the whole project through a special loan agreement," the statement said. Those to accompany him on the trip are Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema; Minister of Transportation, Chubuike Amaechi; and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah. Popular Delta state-born Nigerian filmmaker Jeta Amata has reacted to the clamour of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), citing the French Revolution and the American Revolution as examples of revolution to learn from. https://www.nigerianbulletin.com/data/attachments/43/43392-4d1b2d86a918caa37fecad868498849e.jpg Read his reaction below: “The consequences of things are not always proportionate to the apparent magnitude of those events that have produced them, thus the American Revolution from which little was expected, produced much; but the French Revolution, from which much was expected, produced little- CHARLES CALEB COLTON. Taking cue from the old English cleric, one but wonders what ado about Biafra. The learned ones, intellects, leaders of our fields of practice, remain silent in an issue that led to Africa’s worst civil war, maybe the World’s. Nigeria’s South East politicos, traditional leaders, religious fathers, respected entertainers and sport heroes are keeping numb while the people they regard as “commoners” are taking to the streets in thousands insisting on secession. Some scholars estimate over 3 million people died from the civil war in which 40% of them were children that died of starvation. One of my best friends a popular radio personality in Lagos told me of how his mother said they had to eat their grandmother after she passed during the war. Yes, due to starvation. Seriously??!! It seemed like a joke at first, 10 to 20 Igbos in diaspora protesting in front of Nigerian embassies in the West, to a few hundred people chanting pro Biafra slogans back home in Nigeria. Now we’re seeing thousands of people pouring out in major cities, young men agitated by an inner feeling of despair look riot police in the eye saying “shoot me”. Now this is serious, and we Nigerians know that in some cases, our tribalism can be worse than racism or xenophobia. Yes! There are still landlords who wouldn’t rent out houses to people of certain tribes, some parents would rather die than give their daughter’s hands in marriage to certain tribes, even amongst the Igbos, some are regarded as children of slaves and cannot be entrenched with the “free born”. Several people die every day from communal clashes, not to mention Boko Haram and the religious bigots. Yes, it happens and we all know it! Yet, knowing our history and what we are capable of, we remain silent in such a crucial time of our nation. How do we address this issue? I Jeta Amata, Isoko of Enuto Quarter of Oyede, Delta State of Nigeria believe in a One Nigeria. The Nigeria my late grandfather, the Adetomufuowho of Oyede believed in it. The Nigeria of over 170 million people, the Nigeria that is the most populous black nation on Earth, the Nigeria the British and French forced us all into while determining how they split Africa for their economic benefits. What do you believe in? Assuming we share the same sentiments about our being one nation, or not as the case may be, do we sit back and let this agitation for a Biafra secession continue without having a conversation? Blood fuels revolutions; and the moment the police fire their weapons into a crowd of agitators, the story would change. The World having to deal with a few million Islamist fundamentalists will have to turn attention to the 170 million people of Africa’s economic power. Nigeria is the World’s 5th highest exporter of fuel and 7th in natural gas. The World’s 2nd largest film market. Imagine what a troubled Nigeria would do to Africa and the World’s economy. Before we get there, it’s time to speak up, this is a call to Nigerian, African and World leadership to have a conversation about this little drop of water that could become an ocean. The Igbo leaders cannot pretend not to care while waiting to see where the tide flows. They must have this conversation to decide what they require for their people. From the last map I saw online of the proposed Biafra, Niger Delta States were carved into it, so Niger Deltans must also decide if they support this agitation to be a part of Biafra or politely decline the invitation. We cannot be idle in the face of an issue that could determine the fate of our country while canting, jand rather talking and complaining about how a hard working Linda Ifeoma Ikeji told the World about a $3m house she bought with her initiative, sweat and hard work. Again I ask the question, what do you believe in?” Jeta Amata is a popular name in the Nollywood industry who has a lineage of filmmakers, from his grandfather, Ifoghale Amata to his father Zack Amata and then uncle, Fred Amata. Jeta who is considered one of the most successful filmmakers to come out of West Africa, is known to bring in Hollywood and Nollywood stars together to tell the Nigerian story. He was once married to fellow actress, Mbong Amata until their divorce early 2015. Movies produced by Jeta includes; Black November, Road To Redemption, The Amazing Grace, Queen Amina, Mary Slessor, Black Mamba among others. http://www.metroparrot.net/2015/11/nollywood-movie-producer-jeta-amata.html cc: lalasticlala |
