You need to understand that some banks did their installation when panels were 300 - 350 W.

and so they are little as they were the latest at the time, with 18-19% efficiency

At least a recent project for sterling bank, used 550W in the deployment
bassdow:
Going by your assumption, how many Banks have you seen using large Solar panel. na mostly many small ones dem dey install abi dem sef no get Money, or uses pWm controllers.

Not disAgreeing with you BUT a lot of times also, the so called professional installers are the culprit. Most times, clients are clueLess on what they want hence reason they paying you to be of help. Issue is some of us most times ends up not really putting interest of said client as priority.

Just thought I should ask since we learn everyday. Personally, the lowest I have ever installed for clients are 300-watts

1. you can install an inverter AC to cool the room down

2. Use an injector and extractor fan. [The injector fan brings cool outdoor air; let's say it's placed around a tree and extractor takes the heat away.]
It can even make more sense if it is temperature and humidity controlled.

Gurus in the house,

I hail o.

Please how do you cool a solar system installed in an enclose space (i.e store) with no windows? That was the only place we saw fit to install without distorting the beauty of the interior design.

The set-up is 3 16kwh SRNE lithium batteries, 1 12kva SRNE inverter and charge controller .

Also, is this set-up noisy?

Let's reduce the charging voltage to 54.5 , float at 53.5v and leave other settings.⁣

lets see how that goes

All is fine from this angle if the battery is a 16s battery.

can you please send a picture of the sticker on the battery? I am having this feeling it's a 15s battery.

@15s the batteries will all be more than full, which is 3.68V instead of sticker of 3.65V, which for long-time usage is pretty bad.

Make COU or cut-off Voltage to 48V if it can go that high, but if not, make DTA 49V.

while CU is 55.2 and FLU is 54 ...... This is a more conservative battery parameters for 16s LIFEPO4 Battery

You need to check the manual for a more in-depth explanation of the lockdown voltage.

But in my own opinion, I believe you should set the lockdown to 48V for safety or precaution.

Collione:
Hello good morning everyone.im having challenges setting up my battery settings on the inverter. It's a 5kva firman inverter with an lvtopsun battery. For lvtopsun the battery cut off voltage is 48v. Honestly I don't know the meaning of cut off voltage. However for the firman it says the battery lock down voltage is 42v . Is lock down voltage and cut off voltage the same? I don't want a scenario whereby the battery goes lower than it should as the BMS doesn't seem to be communicating
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 4:30pm On Jul 18, 2025
Do a complete system reset to reboot your new setting with startup and see if the battery will accept the charge. Also to note is that if your current is high, it may be rejected, so watch out for that too.

ask4bk:
Hi guys!

This SRNE 10kva inverter has kept my battery charge stuck at 53.2v. That's far from full. There are 6kwh solar panels connected to it. But right now in hot sun, only the sun is carrying the load of the building (as set by user), and battery isn't discharging as we can see on the inverter.

My first guess was the float was set to 53.2v and that's why its like this.

Entering the settings, battery type is set to Li4. I changed it to USER and set bulk and float to 56.0v (thats my personal setting for all my LFP). Yet, nothing changed. Inverter still only getting the sun it needs to run the house and not charging the battery to set 56.0v.

Settings is such that only solar panels runs all loads.
Charging source is set to solar too. Though there's NEPA, the inverter is set to ignore it.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Battery is cworth 20kwh.

Need help for who understands this SRNE behavior
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 4:18pm On Jul 18, 2025
If you haven't done your installation, i will strongly suggest going for only 9 panel for those to be used in series.

If case 10 is to be used, say 5 panels in series and then have them parallel; these arrangements could likely damage the inbuilt MPPT if the Isc is more than that of the inverter's MPPT.

The best you should do is watch out! BTW, if you need a quote and installation with every bell and whistle that's going to keep your investment safe, be sure to reach out to me via contact in bio.

I don't really know what could be the issue, but then fingers can also be pointed to the surge since you said it rained.

never use heavy appliances on it,I off the inverter myself because the battery is low and it's about to rain, when I switched it on the following day,it was displaying like that.Thank you
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 1:13pm On Jul 02, 2025
This may be likely error 53 or 06, which is related to unstable output voltage

You should consider taking it to a repair centre.

BTW, did you use sometime slightly heavy on it?

Try VMpower 1.5kVA 12V sold by Techland; I have one operating for 2 years+ now. It handles surges pretty okay.

Just ensure you have enough panels or a strong battery because of the surge if the fridge is used.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 6:46am On Apr 28, 2025
If it is assumed that the 6kW are all in series and your Isc or Imp is lower than 20A then using a 20/25A DC breaker is a good way to go.

Likewise, for your inverter a 160A mccb is highly recommended.

But if there are other factors to consider then, those could be stated.

Please I need guidance on the breakers I need to ensure are used for a 6kw pv and 6kva inverter setup

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 3:53pm On Apr 22, 2025
From the image you attached, I see it is a hybrid inverter you use.

There is a need to reduce the charging voltage to 28.8V as opposed to the 31V you currently do have and float voltage to 27V.
What is happening now is that your battery is undergoing an unprepared equalisation charging state, which should only be once a month.

You will need to consult our manual to understand what i have written above.

that will be like 8-5% DoD or SoC

So, too low to continue, else you may have to start looking for ways to wake the battery up

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 12:34pm On Apr 22, 2025
Hello!

You will need a 5kVA/6kVA inverter hybrid (Deye, Growatt, Tbb) or conventional type (victron, Tbb, felicity) if you need to run both the AC and pump simultaneously

But if you plan to be self-conscious and know you won't run both together, then going for 3.5 kVA is a better choice.

For the ideal solar power, you will need around 6,500 Wp of solar panels (Jinko, JA, Longi, Canadian) and a 120A solar charge controller.

Battery choice (Vestwoods, Deriy, Pylonytech, Growatt)

Lastly, with your budget i see things coming together in a 3.5 kVA range, especially when inverter, solar panels and BOS are all factored in.

quote author=Ahyjo post=135077118]Hello experts in the house. I’ve been following all the discussions diligently especially the recent ones with regard to the lithium batteries. I am about to upgrade my system to be able to take a 1.5HP AC and also my 1HP submersible pump. Please I need your advice on the appropriate inverter to get ( both KVA (minimum required) and brand ) , the best lithium battery (14-15kwh) and CC (if the suggested inverter is not hybrid), and lastly the appropriate PV array. Thank you. As we all know these things don’t come cheap, so it’s better for one to do due diligence before investing in them, and there’s no better place to get appropriate information like here. Please advise me based on experience and not brand specifications.

My working budget is 3M - 3.5M
Kindly advice please.[/quote]
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 6:37am On Apr 22, 2025
I have a different opinion!

Something to note is that when you add panels in series in range of 500-1000V cable sizes like 6mm can work just fine and this is also related to most residential and commercial projects.

HeavenlyBang:
Higher current means higher cable costs and higher losses.

There's a reason why electricity is transmitted at high voltage, not high current.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 8:24pm On Jan 29, 2025
since this was fixed temporarily before when you had it disconnected, i will advise that you have a pv breaker and a battery breaker on the charge contoller so you can reset it everytime the error pops up.
