Very interested to see the Deye, i work with Pylontech often, and I have taken apart a couple of them, The types of the ones used in the Pylontech are quite unique, so to speak. jonescosmos: They're pure Deye Batteries, no combos. It appears the Deye Lithium Batteries are better built than the overrated Pylontec Batteries.
I will post a take apart video of both soon. |

No picture, was attached auwal8377: Hello, my JBD BMS will not allow charge or discharge and this happened after my 24V LIFEPO4 battery drained to zero percent (0%) (from Xiaoxing app). When the BMS is connected to the SCC, the voltage will rise quickly and register full charge delivering 0 amps. I charge it directly via the SCC to about 36% and still the BMS did not start. When I connected the load via inverter the voltage of 26.1V quickly drained to 17.3v and the inverter disconnected. The specs of the BMS is (AP 20S006 20S 200A). I tested charging the battery pack directly with SCC and also discharging with an inverter and it works. It means it is the BMS that is the issue. I tried jump starting but it did not work or I didn't do it correctly. Kindly help with the solution. Attached is the picture of the BMS model too. Thanks |

Cost without the trident thingy and the accompanying materials, assuming more than one pit is used for more effectiveness. TechGeek777: Does this price include lightening protection to the ground? |

With grounding TechGeek777: Thanks for your responses so far, but I don't understand this your statement bolded.
When is it likely to go through the panel to the ground?
Is it without grounding or with grounding? |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 9:38am On Feb 01, 2024 |
In my opinion, Yes! The risk is high if it goes through the panels to the ground. TechGeek777: Does it mean it's better not to ground it if there's no arrestor close by? |

A lightning arrestor or trident install at the highest point on a property to be protected with a very low path of resistance to the ground. This is to allow for a point where lightning can go instead of through your house as that one nah fire or die sef Ideally, PV shouldn't but if it is grounded, with no lightning arrestor close by, it could be an attractor of lightning at times. TechGeek777: Boss, what can then protect one from direct strike?
Does pv attract lightening? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 10:47am On Jan 31, 2024 |
If you have the means, get another cable to supplement the existing one from the panels to the charge controller. This is so you don't lose your current as heat due to cable size. JoeSef0: I already used an 8mm wires to run the solar into the house, does it mean I'll change that to 16mm or i just need to change the wire i used in connecting the panels together on the roof? |

Would you be willing to sell the equipment separately? I am interested in the inverter only. tipsy242: I have a 1kva inverter and 220mah Mpower Tubular fairly used battery for sale (bought newly January 2022). Selling price is 130k (30k Inverter and 100k battery). Reason for sale is because I'm getting an upgraded inverter setup with two identical batteries and i was advised not to use two new batteries with used one. Get a 16mm 2 guage wire and connect all the solar panels in parallel since it is a PWM controller A 12V panel is already 18V Vmp, which will charge your batteries just fine; at 24V, you will be losing a ton of power due to higher potential differences. JoeSef0: My bosses here, I have a question
5 12v 180w solar panels to be connected in series to get 24v How'd you go about the connection Remember you need 2 panel's to make 24v. The system is a 12v (inverter and battery) charge controller is an automatic (12-48v) 60a |

Picture not attached! Please note that a DC SPD cannot protect you from a direct strike but rather the EMI derivative of the lightning strike at some distance close to you. Myself50: Good evening house, this dc spd, can they protect the inverter when thunder strikes? Assuming the house does not have thunder arrestor.

Yes! it is working fine. Typically, solar panels will produce 85-70% at peak of their working conditions locally here. You were doing 78% of your capacity, i'd say that's a good one. Congrats though! Enjoy !! kristien4: Thanks bro. The thing is i upgraded my panels yesterday.. 6pieces 580w solar panel. 2 panels connected in series into 3 places. Thats 2_2_2 in series, all paralled together. I just put it under heavy load. My growatt charge controller displayed 2730watts pv input.. 18amps pv and 90v pv. Its a 48v inverter... 4 pieces 12v LA battery is series.. Each panel 51v 13amps 580w. Just wanted to be sure its working fine. Under the heavy load, pv input amps stays at 18amps, While batt says 43amps. Was thinking the pv amps would get to 30amps and above or something. I should just believe everything is fine since I'm getting 2730watts from 3480w panel on heavy load. |

Yes! you can. Good day, I will strongly advise not getting your equipment from the US based on * warranty claims * Aftersales support and other factors too relating with sub-region * Voltage output differences. * Logistics (Shipping cost) Plus, quality is kind of relative to how much you can spend on a robust product. There are products available locally found in the EU and US markets known worldwide for their strong performance. For the lithium batteries, good brands here give their best too. To answer your questionYou need to have a solar consultant who will go on to recommend products that you can research and make an educated and informed decision on. I hope this helps. Nahum777: Hi guys, I live in the US, but I want to implement solar for my family back home in Nigeria. I am scared that the quality isn't up to what we get in the US. Especially the Lithium Ion Phospate batteries. I was thinking of sending the materials from the US, but the cost will be outrageous. Also, the US uses 120V while Nigeria uses 220V.
My question here is, do you guys have reliable sellers in Nigeria I can buy from? And what brand do you guys recommend? Is there any reliable website you guys buy from? My family lives in Lagos Nigeria.
Your answers will be greatly appreciated. |

NO, I will recommend an MCCB when you want a CB between an inverter and battery or where appropriate amperage is needed. Except you have a powerplant of several PV arrays connected, an MCB of 125A would suit for a 100A charge controller And a max. Of 63A series for PV to charge controller FEGEITOK: Would you recommend the use of MCCB in between a charge controller/inverter and solar panels OR between batteries and a charge controller/inverter OR BOTH? An MCB is a miniature circuit breaker while an MCCB is a molded case circuit breaker molded as like with ceramic attached is a picture too bassdow: You for try add pictures of MCCB and MCB in case we sabi am with another name. Who knows, maybe we don use am gan sef but no know say e name na MCCB or MCB.

The thing is you can't see an MCB of 160A, MCB the big types stop at 125A that's why their model is xxxx125 while smaller MCB are of model xxx63 meaning that is the maximum you can go for their amperage range FEGEITOK: The MCCB is several times higher than the MCB
Researched it. |

I have since stopped doing that kind of IT so NO, neither have I come across it in a client's establishment. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 8:19am On Oct 02, 2023 |
Short answer is NO! Ordinary fixed rooftop of top equipment is problem for some due to cost, not to talk of solar tracking array, the reality is that i don't see it being economical solution here in Nigeria, my POV FEGEITOK: Is anyone doing this in Nigeria?
Tracking the sun makes solar panels more efficient on land and water

This is what I call painstaking troubleshooting, I am not vast in knowledge of computer but I took on myself to know a bit if this and a bit of that when It comes to I.T I told a friend one time that the quickest way to gather knowledge and experience is by working with the big players, because there are always new toys to play with at one point which you may not be exposed to if working for yourself. As a rule of thumb, I avoid certain things that would run me into trouble with computers. BTW have you ever gotten off of a ransomware before? FEGEITOK: Speaking of the value of knowing your stuff inside out. |
