These are my personal thoughts 1. The quote has the barest minimum materials for the installation to work on paper 2. The prices quoted would get you average products, not that they are not good, just preference. 3. Ensure you know the exact warranty on each products .... Just to be save. 4. Lastly for your panels if you do 400W+ it will be helpful especially for your pump, as even 400W x 6 = around 1.5KWp under NoC. Pojomojo: Please, what are you honest thoughts on this quote? 3.5kva 3kw 24volt Hybrid Inverter Setup + Solar
1. 3kw 24volt Hybrid inverter (80Amps MPPT) = #260,000
2. 12v 220AH battery 2pcs = #165,000 x 2 = #310,000 (Tubular battery)
3. 300watts Solar panels 6pieces (1.8kw) = #75,000 x 9 = #600,000
4. Solar mounting rails on roof and its accessories = #24,000
5. AC & DC Cables = #90,000
6. AC and DC breakers, MC4 connectors, Trunking, breaker box, Input AVS, DC Surge, ChangeOver. = #50,000

FEGEITOK: Your point is that the one with the IR sensor may be more expensive to deploy, but less expensive to run. Yes! Due to how frequent it comes on. Thanks.
What's the wattage of the one you use? 20W & 50W
And how much area does it cover? Up to 9m for 20W & 12 -15m for 50W
For the front does 1 do? or do you use 2? Depending on how big your frontage or area to be covered is.
Thanks so much for sharing. |

For your setup, 50% of your loads are On & Off so that makes sense. But I will suggest going for 6 pieces of 400W (Jinko, JA, Canadian, ERA, Yingli) Assuming your inverter is a wide PV input inverter For your battery reach out to Valto or a jos guy mentioned several times here.... You are sure to get warranty on the batteries. You can call me with regards to having your setup built to standard, that suits your budget. My Contact is on signature hayo15: Hello,

Good morning! The mureva lights are divided into three types and they come looking aethesic and of low energy consumption with a good brightness to go with it. One stands out of all, which is the one with IR sensor. You set it to work without human interference and to also act as a security light by coming on or off using its ssensors. Hope this helps? Watch out for those panel prices you are calling, it be a shame that you are been sold a clone or rebranded panels for the price stated. These your prices don't reflect present reality. Jefferyzz: Unless u don't buy ur items ursef. Every item inside that paper is expensive. Just last week I called a supplier for 3.5kva inverter with AC charger n she said it's 185k. 2.5kva is around 145k. N it not even a transformerless inverter. That charge controller he won use nah those regular pwm. Brand new panel 300w in alaba is 74k. Yingli own is around 76 I can go on and on. Dey try enter market n know price. From my own viewit is a small setup for Basic loads like light, TV, Fan and phone charging While it features a Lithium battery it is design to be discharged sparingly for times when the grid is down for short time so you can have power to run above mentioned loads. Also note that no solar panel is included but a 2000W inverter, 100Ah 12V lithium battery, 30A MPPT controller and a 5A 12V charger So in conclusion, it is a good buy if you stay abroad with a stable grid. Hope this helps. demandtruth: Please, house is this a good configuration to buy?

if you can get hold of these pictures share them here for more advice 1. the sticker on one of the CCTV 2. The sticker on your DVR i.e. if used 3. The power supply 4. your fencing security apparatus too. All these is to ensure you get the best even out of little. Below is an example of what to look out for. @ toyeoye In addition to this, i will recommend schneider "Mureva Floodlight" they are quite versatile and can be on but without light, can perform a lot of function. you read up more of them to get better understanding. samnaija: You are pushing your system to know it's weakness, that is how you will eventually have a better system.
First and foremost 48v system is more reliable than 24v system. If the system is new add extra battery to make it 48v.
Fence light and flood lights, all on why? To avoid issues with security lights , I got the solar security light . They are even brighter and they are timed to come on , at sun down. They become dim when there is no movement around your compound, but bright once it senses movement.
Your fridge, whether it is a low energy consumption or high is a big no for 24hrs use. Personally I will go for a deep freezer low consumption, use through out the day, on solar, switch it off by 5 or 6pm. The chill within the freezer can carry you to next day you continue story . I got rid of my big fridge, when I noticed issues. In renewable energy, live like a king when the sun is up, avoid unnecessary load at night. Also change your charge controller. |

Good morning Guys, i will be hosting a Twitter space on saturday, it is basically a how to guide/education on what to expect, what frame of mind is needed before shelling out some cash to avoid mistakes of having an improperly designed solar system. I hope to see some of us that may be chanced to grace the event and share their thoughts so that everybody pick a few newer ideas to take away. I will be joined by Sintolord, trippledot and bigbrovar on the space. Don't miss out! See you this weekend, Don't forget to set your reminder. In addition to what valto said If you can list out your usage pattern, it will go a long way to decide what works best. dbshaywhy: Good morning professionals...
Please... I need the professionals input on this...
I intend going for lifepo4 (to be used with light appliances, no freezer, no pumping machines, no iron.... Just the bulb light, tv, sound system, phone charging, fan and blender to blend occasionally).
I already installed; 2*200W panel 1pcs 30a epever tracer 3210A(the old model) 12v 850Va nexus inverter.
I will mostly be using the system in the night till daybreak from Monday-Saturday.... And use day and night on Sundays...
So my questions are;
1. What sise of lifepo4 battery do I really need? 2. What are those things do I need to replace or change to meet up my proposed new set up? 3. What are those things I really need to upgrade?
I want an everlasting and reliable set up as the former set with 2*100ah smf battery nva lasted a year.

I don't know what load bearing of those AC outdoor support are but I am not sure it can bear it considering the weight should be close to 100KG+ You might need to do something DIY and the wall been very strong too. I'd like to commend Valto for his thoughtful ideas in his business, the battery box done for a 280Ah used for a member here was quite rugged and robust in it's structure.
No rickety sounds, all joint very solid and no gap for large particles of dust to enter.
It even held up to 60+ kg body weight and it withstood such heavy weights of the battery, all i can say is well done to him. This is my review of his build, and the circult breaker used was sized appropriately.

As valto has said earlier, you should take these things seriously as they add little complications to a system. First the smarshunt allows info to be transmitted via cable "V.E Direct" and also bluetooth The alternate integration different from its native use is via Econcms used on rasberry pi and Hybrid Axpert variant inverters, my knowledge of its use is limited but i believe you can get it to do lots more anyways, especially the SoC based on certain set parameters. In case you get to solve this before i do based on info above, kindly reach out to get a hold of the smartshunt MontyNG: Good morning guys.
Is anyone here using a Victron smartshunt? I need to know if it can be connected to an inverter to provide the inverter with details such as temps and an accurate SOC for the connected battery

NiyiOmoIyunade has already said it in a more simpler term, from the cable sizing to choice of inverter, charge controller and a few other things require that the system be reviewed. Probably the inverter was randomly oversized, with knowledge learnt here so far, i think it is comprehensible to help try a DIY audit by noting nameplate of appliances to be used and if these seems out of your deep you can try the link in my signature, it might be of help to you. toyeoye: Thanks for the feedback and your time bro |

if you reduce your fan from normal ones to DC/ energy saving types then it is possible that you get a starter package on your budget with lead acid considering you will need a 1kva 220Ah/200Ah Tubular 30-60A PWM charge controller 300W [150Wx 2] other materials void of basic protection for your system. you need 600W to charge the battery but with a fair grid supply you can run with this till you can increase budget. you did good with this installation, all i see is improvements in your ideas and skills ......... happy for you. what i believe you should do to maximize things is 1. introduction of 275Vac SPD [Budget] or a Midnite 300Vac SPD to all incoming AC connections to the inverter area, ensure you have a good earth connection to complete thee SPD install 2. introduce 600 - 500Vdc SPD for both your inverters since they work with solar panels, also a DC breaker from panels to inverter incase non was present. sure others will have a thing or two to say.
