koseepaaro: @poster, it is possible. If your computer is running Windows 7, all you need to do is to open "Computer" and locate your external hard drive you want to password. Right click on that your USB external hard drive and and choose "Turn ON BitLocker". Follow the messages that your computer would be displaying to complete setting password on your external hard disk. Note: the process might take few minutes to hours. Just watch your computer as it encrypt the files you have saved in the hard drive. The system will notify you as soon as the process is completed. Good luck to you!thanks but won't i need to instal the bitlocker program first? cos when i right clicked on the flash on my windows 7 computer, i did not see the "bitlocker". |

Federal Government, yesterday, told a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that investigations revealed that the Islamist sect, Boko Haram, received sponsorship from another terrorist organisation based in Algeria. The Federal Government, which made the disclosure on a day the high court commenced trial of one of alleged kingpins of the sect, Kabiru Umar, a.k.a Kabiru Sokoto, who allegedly masterminded the Christmas day bomb blast that killed about 44 persons and wounded 75 others at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church at Madalla, Niger State, in 2011, gave the name of the Algerian terrorist group as Muslimiyama. Witness’ account A masked witness, who was identified as Mr. XYZ in his testimony, further told the court that the sect not only received funds from the foreign terror network, but also robbed Christians whenever the need for money arose. He added that the accused person, in a statement he made on January 14, 2012, confessed that it was in the process of sharing a particular fund that was received from Muslimiyama, that the Boko Haram sect became factionalised. Narrating how Kabiru Sokoto was caught, the witness, who told the court that he was a terrorism expert, said the accused person had confessed that he was inducted into the sect by Hameel Abdulrazak in 2007, noting that prior to that time, the accused worked as a laboratory assistant at a Specialist Hospital in Sokoto State. source: http://www.vanguardngr.com |
in a waec exam, the question had to do with balancing account. this guy tried to balance the account but couldn't, he always had left over which he could not explain. so as the time was almost running out, guy tried all he knew to balance the account but still left, this time around with N20 balance. in order not to fail, guy brought out N20 note from his pocket and slotted into the page of his answer sheet and wrote a note in capital letters: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, PLEASE THIS IS THE BALANCE OF MY CALCULATIONS SINCE THE ACCOUNTS REFUSED TO BALANCE, HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND, THANK YOU |

The inauguration of administrators for the 57 development centres at the Okpara Square Enugu, Enugu State yesterday was Governor Sullivan Chime’s first public appearance since he travelled abroad for medical treatment in September last year. The governor, who returned in February had by his showing at the event also put to bed recent death rumour orchestrated in the Iinternet. Inaugurating the administrators, Chime said it was part of the efforts of the state government to bring democracy and governance to the doorsteps of the masses. The governor also presented brand new cars to the administrators, explaining that the gesture was intended to enhance the performance of the beneficiaries in their different locations. He noted that the administrators were to assist the chairmen of the 17 local governments in the state in ensuring that development reached the grassroots rapidly and effectively. The governor noted that the appointment of the administrators was a product of the consultation with the people of their respective development centres, adding that they owed their appointments to the people whom they must now serve with diligence and commitment. Chime also stressed that the administrators were not to operate as sole heads, saying they were merely leaders of committees whose other members would soon be announced. “We are to inaugurate men and women who will be directly in touch with the people. I must emphasise that their appointments were a product of consultation with the people. “So even though you were not elected, you are still as popular as the other elected officials and you owe your appointments to the people. You must therefore serve diligently and with commitment.” source: http://www.sunnewsonline.com |

rosamaris: Pesdestral bridges are supposed to be built at the junction where passengers alight from buses not a kilometer away. Though I dont live along the airport road, but I have observed that these bridges though many are built far away from where buses stop to drop their passengers. with time sha, people will get used to using the bridges or forced to do so.but you should know that many settlements along the airport road are illegal, so the bridges are meant to serve the upcoming permanent structures on that road. also, that road is the gateway into the city as such, ugly scenes of commuters scaling over road dividers or some sitting on them waiting to cross is an eye sore to the capital city. |
tcoach: Yes, people risk their lives by not using d pedestrian bridges, but have u noticed 95percent of the bridges are so steep that someone who is not physically fit or old will suffer more using the pedestrian bridges. you only find the convenient ones in lagos and they are few(onipanu B/S).so this same old unfit people who find difficult to climb the bridge now find crossing the wide road and climbing the road dividers easier abi? |
what is primarily responsible for this hideous act is our indiscipline, just imagine the bus-stops that were created along that road have been abandoned while taxis pick commuters right on the expressway causing clogs to free flow of traffic especially at lugbe, chika, piwoyi and aso estate. secondly, this road is the gateway into the FCT where anyone visiting the city for the first time must pass through and with this ugly sight; what do you think their perception of 9ja would be? i will post more pix later |
This is a very serious issue * in my words the government is looking for how to reduce the population of Nigerian's, by purposely building pedestrian bridges at miles from where people actually cross the roads* I don't know what the intent is but its quite insane in abuja - for example people cross the roads at area 3 junction, and area 1 roundabout in abuja (Garki), but the government decided to construct and build a pedestrian bridge in the middle of nowhere, between area 1 and area 3, and we know our people they hate doing walking exercise, so they just alight from a commuter bus turn around the bus, and gbam! they hit the express, now who do we blame the architects and surveyors that chose the location or government that don't consider the actual points people cross or people themselves that are lawless, what a situation a tri-parte level of total decadence
but i think where people cross the road should not actually determine where to position the bridge cos if we have proper town planning, the people cannot determine where to position the bridge. furthermore, positioning a pedestrian bridge should not be at the junction but some meters away from it. we need to learn to be orderly in this country and value our lives instead of carelessly flinging lives to the expressway in the name of "bridge is too far from my junction". |
dgitrader: Even a roadsafety official is amoung the culprits in the picture.thank you very much, i think inappropriate or maybe inadequate planning is partly responsible for this but i you have to remember that many settlements along the airport road are illegal so i think the plan was made for the permanent structures that are expected to occupy the road. on the other hand, the presence of Road Safety is expected to put checks on such notorious behaviour of the commuters but as you can see, even the road safety official is a culprit. |
a country where zoning is preferred to qualified personnel, how do you expect excellent performance? if the present leader of the nigeria police is the qualified person, then he should be allowed to do his work instead of being petitioned by some jobless individuals. |
@ OP am not a religious person at all but i reason. whether you remain with your hail mary or you decide to be "free", bros na you get the problem not God. recanting your belief is at your peril (if what you believe is true) but lets see how you will pass jamb or get admission when you rely on your belief instead of studying to pass. put the blame on your laziness and stop pointing accusing fingers, take responsibility instead of being a chicken, see bros, this show of shame goes a long way to tell what your character is. you have a lot of work to do on yourself. you are still an omomo |
I waited long to see where i could post this topic but found out that there was no section for traffic situations in this country and i think Seun should do something about it cos i do not know why we have Autos and Car talk sections which to me are very similar. Now to my post: i noticed the impunity with which commuters along the Airport road Abuja put their lives at great risk by abandoning the pedestrian bridges newly built for them rather they run across the dangerous wide road, sit on the road dividers just to cross the road with the bridges very close to them, some even cross the roads right under the bridges. funny enough, we have the road safety spots at the city gate and lugbe but they seem not to be concerned about what these people do cos they even stand by the road while commuters run across the road at lugbe. https://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3656/pix2d.jpg commuters running across the expressway https://img209.imageshack.us/img209/9332/pix5h.jpg commuters sitting on road dividers waiting to cross the expressway |

By Olawale Ajimotokan Micheal Eneramo and Joseph Akpala were Monday touted by Super Eagles coach Sttephen Keshi as likely replacements for the injured striker, Emmanuel Emenike. Keshi, who was at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) secretariat Monday for a meeting with the federation president, Aminu Maigari, told reporters that there was no way he would consider recalling out of favour captain, Josesph Yobo for the team. The Eagles are billed to open a training camp in Germany on May 16 with 30 players, in readiness for a busy schedule in May/ June, that will see Nigeria travel to the US, Kenya, Namibia and Brazil. Keshi reasoned that there was no ground to reinstate Yobo, as he has already submitted his provisional list for the Confederations Cup to FIFA. He said the final list would still have to be trimmed to 23. Keshi and Yobo fell out after the captain openly criticised the coach for excluding him from the squad that played Kenya in Calabar on March 23. Eneramo and Akpala actively featured for the national team under the watch of Shaibu Amodu during the run in to South Africa 2012 but were left out when the team went to the World Cup. The physically imposing Eneramo played 15 times for the Eagles, while Akpala scored the only goal when Nigeria beat France 1-0 in St Etienne on June 2, 2009. They were placed on notice after Victor Anichebe of Everton snubbed the team. Keshi said Anichebe had made himself unavailable in the past by not showing interest through third parties. The Everton striker in a recent interview, said he opted fro club ahead of country because no one from the Nigerian federation considered it necessary to inquire about his fitness in the past after he copped an injury on national duty away to Madagascar. But Keshi, who described Emenike's latest injury relapse as a big blow, insisted that he tried to bring Anichebe along, but the player seemed not be interested. “When I was appointed, I tried to talk to Anichebe through Yobo, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Dickson Etuhu, but he refused talking to me most of the time. He has made it clear that he does not have any interest to play for Nigeria now. I don’t have his number as I have it I would have spoken to him to know if he could have a change of heart,” he added. source: http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/confed-cup-keshi-lines-up-eneramo-shuns-yobo-again/146962/

Fresh facts emerged at the weekend to explain why President Goodluck Jonathan is yet to fire Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as the national chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite the insistence of the governors elected on the platform of the party that he should get rid of him for peace to reign in the party. Top PDP sources told LEADERSHIP SUNDAY that President Jonathan is retaining Tukur for political expediency. The relationship between Tukur and the PDP governors, tagged “rebels” and led by Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, has been everything but cordial. Although the governors have told the president to fire Tukur, he is yet to do so because of the current structure of the PDP’s hierarchy, which will produce Amaechi’s candidate as interim PDP boss in the event of Tukur being forced out of office. Tukur’s problem started when he and the governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Murtala Nyako, clashed over the control of the party in the state. Tukur, who hails from Adamawa, has openly endorsed his son as a possible successor to Nyako and runs a faction of the PDP in the state to realise his dream. The governor is also alleged to be grooming one of his sons for the job while Tukur prefers his own son, a former member of the House of Representatives. The fear of the unknown made the governors pitch tent with Nyako and every effort made to reconcile them was to no avail. The clash has now been brought to the national scene and Tukur is being asked to go. He toured round the geopolitical zones to reconcile various factions of the party but the governors would not allow him to succeed and this made Chief Tony Anenih, the party’s BoT chairman to begin a tour of the PDP- controlled states to win the governors back to the PDP. An informed source said President Jonathan knows the implication of keeping Tukur on the seat but he is in a dilemma as the national deputy chairman of the PDP, Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, is a loyalist of Governor Amaechi, who has been involved in a face-off with Jonathan over his alleged presidential ambition in 2015. Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State and Amaechi are allegedly working behind the scenes to run against Jonathan-Sambo ticket in 2015. Amaechi however added a twist to the political permutation during his recent visit to Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano where he hinted of his readiness to be the presidential running mate of the governor in 2015. “We all know that Tukur has lost his popularity among the governors. This, among other things, has led to the creation of the PDP Governors’ Forum to weaken Amaechi and his group, but this has not worked. But if Tukur is dropped, who succeeds him? His deputy was nominated by Amaechi and this would spell a political doom for the president. The other way out of it is to dissolve the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) and conduct a fresh election for all the national officers and, fortunately for us, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared their elections illegal, but we are yet to decide how to go about it,” the source said. He however accused the Rivers State governor of being selfish in his fight with Tukur when his main target is President Jonathan, but he knows that, with Tukur in charge, it might be difficult for him to realise his dream. “Since we know that Amaechi is using his position as the chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), to pursue his selfish ambition at the expense of the party’s interest, we have created the PDP Governors’ Forum where the party’s interest would be well defended.” Although a presidential aide was quoted as saying his principal could support the move to unseat Tukur if that would please the governors, he quickly added, “What is the possibility that removing Tukur would not create another problem with Amaechi’s boy as the deputy chairman if allowed to step into Tukur’s shoes? This is why President Jonathan is in a dilemma over the whole scenario.” Checks show that Jonathan is seriously considering the dissolution of the NWC option as this would help in injecting people with fresh ideas into the system. If it sailed through, former Governor Adamu Muazu of Bauchi State might replace Tukur but the cold war between him and the incumbent governor of the state is another barrier to the move. Why NEC meeting is on hold The continued delay of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP has been attributed to irreconcilable differences between the governors of the party and the presidency. Three weeks ago, the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) had, in a press release, announced that it was set to hold the NEC of the PDP which had been long overdue. However, LEADERSHIP SUNDAY gathered that the NEC, which comprises the governors of the party and other top PDP leaders, has had the meeting shifted on several issues; the endorsement of its new constitution is yet to be resolved. Another reason for the development, according to a PDP chieftain who spoke to LEADERSHIP SUNDAY on condition of anonymity, was that both Tukur and the presidency were treading softly on the meeting. But the source said the presidency, which is leaned towards Tukur’s continued stay in office, is not willing to take any chance on the matter for now. Against a NEC meeting which ought to hold at least quarterly in a year, the party’s last NEC meeting was in July, 2012. source: http://www.leadership.ng/nga
