most of these idiots attacking must be APC bots..
it must be painful for them that in Yoruba land, not all of us are stuck in to tinubu's arse or buy in to the nonsensical SW agenda 2023 and will vote our Igbo brother if they can get nomination from one of the major parties..because we believe in justice..
it frustrated them to see 1.7 million Yorubas voting the opposition despite making people think online that all yorubas are pro their useless party..so they resort to petty bullying..

however for this topic,it's nothing to do with party, whether APC or PDP our governors in SW are useless...very useless and wicked..
with Gbenga Daniel being the worst by a large mile...

left huge debts for his successor, didn't complete any of his projects in the state..
completely abandon the rest of the state apart from osogbo and his hometown of ilesa..

Where in South West Igbo are not present? Everywhere in South West is like Lagos to them but don't take whatever they say serious, the last time I went to Osogbo I was surprised at the number of Igbo in the city, just ignore them while we keep making progress in South West
we fool ourselves too much in SW..
I've been to the east, there's not much difference..
what people suffer in the east is what the people in the west also suffers which is bad leadership..

so which progress are we making exactly in SW?

you mean like owing huge and useless debts that has ruined most of our states? or you mean the poverty ravaging most SW because our useless governors owe salaries?
or you mean the quality of education that has gone done the drain and has now reach emergency levels?
or you mean Governors choosing to focus on capital (and their own towns) while virtually neglecting the rest of the states?

so pls tell us how we are actually making progress in SW in a way that's better than the rest of the country.
you better face your uselessly wicked leaders rather than fooling yourself and the public.

and yeah,I'm from osogbo, what's actually special about osogbo, a glorified big village while the rest of the state are looking disastrous.. have you been to Iwo,Ife,ikirun, ede, even gbogan,odeomu,ila..etc..

Stop this nonsense, you can't force people to love your hero, it's makes sense of course why Awo is deeply respected and loved by his Yoruba people, and that's fine.. but then it borders on sheer lunacy and delusion when you start to disparage other people (of different ethnic stocks) who might not share that same optimism. For all intents and purposes, Awo was hardly regaled among the other ethnic minority groups that make up the now defunct Midwest region, and that's why there was a plebiscite conjured by their (Midwestern) leaders to be excised from the Western region/Yoruba domination. My point is Awo was ONLY a hero to the yorubas, nobody outside the West gave two fuccks about him, much less his much vaunted legacy (respectable as it were)... you can't force people to love you, you have your hero.. I have my hero, you can't force me to love yours, much as I can't force you to love mine. Case closed.
that's a myth.
are u Yoruba?
awolowo is despised by several yorubas,he is not deeply loved as u claim.
most of awolowo adversaries were even yorubas.
its only on paper you read such nonsense of how awolowo is loved by us.
the way Tinubu is seen is the way awolowo is also seen..both have fans here and there and that's it.

Yoruba should not betray Osinbajo like they betrayed Awolowo and MKO

An Omoluabi in Yorubaland is a person of honor who believes in hard work, respects the rights of others, and gives to the community in deeds and in action.

Above all, an Omoluabi is a person of integrity and Prof. Osinbajo is one that embodies everything that upright Yorubas stand for, yet they some Afenifere leaders are not proud to associate with him because he does not engage in pot of porridge politics.

No honest Yoruba leader will attempt to paint Prof. Osinbajo in a bad light. He is putting Yoruba back on the Nigerian and global political map, as a people to reckon with.

We, as Yoruba people, really need to call Afenifere to order so that what happened to Chief Obafemi Awolowo and MKO Abiola does not befall him too in the grand scheme of things at national level. Oladele Olasunkanmi

Excuzeme:
If we profile all the comments so far, we can categorise them as follows:

1. Those, like this one l am quoting, written by some jealous, uncouth and ill-trained Nnyamirin miscreants.
The "Anger and Hate" in such comments can be sniffed from all the way from Biafra.

2. Those who dont like Tinubu as a Presidential candidate for genuine reasons and would state their reasons clearly without any bile. I fall into that category

3. Those who are "Tinubu-fans" who will support anything he does or says, irrespective of what anyone thinks. For such people, Tinubu is an enigma

IMO, l think Tinubu has passed that stage of putting himself up for "National", Presidential elections.
His "cult" personality outside the South West is divisive enough to make such aspirations nearly impossible (nothing is impossible in politics) and he would be best served, if he supports a Yoruba candidate who is sound academically, wise, has no "baggage of financial and academic corruption" hanging around his neck, is respected across board and popular, like the current V.P Yemi Osinbajo (whom l think is eminently qualified to become our next President) .

If Asiwaju decides to contest (itis within his rights to do so), thereby usurping the ticket of the APC and South West in 2023 (which l think he will clinch the party ticket, if he decide to),
his chances with the South East is Zilch,
his chances within the North is not gurranteed
though he will carry the South West because that is his base.
In the final analysis, his party the APC will likely lose the election to a rival party, if that party is smart enough not to present another "crippled baggage" like Atiku.

In the South West, Tinubu is highly respected and loved for his sagacity, political strategisation and wit but he himself must not dance to the tune and drumbeats of "carry-on, baba'sope, praise singers" who will push him and edge him-on, knowing fully well that he wont win.

I wont use this forum to discuss the failings of Asiwaju Tinubu because it wont be proper (hitting a man when his downfall is being discussed, that wont be ethical and moral) but there are "issues" around him that makes a Presidential ambition not feasible.

Asiwaju should pitch his tent behind Yoruba sons who have proved their worth in the Political arena, like Fashola and most especially, the current V. P Yemi Osinbajo. To do otherwise is to undermine the chances of the South West producing the next President in 2023
I am 100% sure that the North will rally behind a person like Osinbajo (he has proved he is smart, that he is not power-hungry and trustworthy, when Buhari was amiss due to illness).
I am also sure that the South West will support a candidate of Osinbajo 101%. So, with the support of thsoe two regions, he is good to go and will win.
Well, a very minuscle, educated and detribalised Igbos will suport him if they are APC members but seriously, he should not expect any vote from that atrea as their hatred and contempt for "Afonjas" has never been hidden and knows no-bound.

But that also brings into the question, the possibility of an Igbo person ever becoming a President of Nigeria, with the current "political setup and emotional mindset" of the people of the Sotuh East!
The North will definitely (and l can wager on this), not support an igbo President, for historical reasons, for their treatment and abuses on Buhari and Notherners in general, for their penchant to want to divide the country and secede and lack of trust.

The South South will likely give their support though it wont be 100% as some of them are aware of what happened during the Biafra occupation of the South South (for example how Ikwere streets were renamed with Igbo names, right there in Ikwere kingdom!) and like most of them have said, they dont want to be tarred with the igbo brush because they are not Igbos and those share their rabid sentiments about other Nigerians.

The South West, though ususally "logical and rational" in their political decision-making, will likely not support an Igbo Presidency, if it comes in confrontation with a Yoruba candidate. The SW are aware of how the Igbos feel towards them and would likely not waver in "serving them the same Amala, using the same type of spoon".

Putting all the above into perspective, it is obvious that an Igbo candidate on the paltform of any party is dead on arrival, within the present atmosphere.
but there is a strategy the igbos can (and will likely) use:

Like the PDP, they can work on the GREED of APC some members from the NORTH who, for personal ambition within the frame of the likes of Saraki in 2015, put their votes behind such person by promising such person say the Vice Presidency with an Igbo President.
Such "Saraki-like" Northerner can pull some votes from the North for the igbo Presidency while the whole S.East gives its block vote to the igbo presidential candidate, in addition to the majority of the votes from the South -South..

The danger with such permutation is that it does not have 'the numbers' to pull an outright win for any Igbo candidacy.
Bottom-line: An Igbo Presidency will always need the votes of either the North or the South West, for it to fly and if history teaches us anything, it is easier for the South West to change its mind and vote for an igbo candidate (like they did in 2011 whne they voted massively for and to elect Goodluck Jonathan), than for the North to vote an igbo candidate.
Unfortunately, the Igbos have so alienated themselves from the A"fonjas" that, it will take a radical miracle for that which happened in 2011, to happen again ...because the payback from the Jonathan administration was in heaps of betrayal. Once beaten, twice shy, they say.

Caveat: these are just my personal opinion, which l am entitled to and every other person should state their own contrary opinion so we can evaluate it....nothing personal.
I agree with some things you wrote but you also made some fallacious statements.
1)Tinubu is not loved by most Yoruba people, that's one big fat lie, he has his fans sure but alot see him as corrupt, dirty and overbearing.
2)Tinubu can not influence Yoruba voters, past elections including the last one has shown that.
3) Osinbajo will get support but not 101% in SW as you claimed, even if PDP present a northerner,PDP will comfortably get more than 40% percent of the votes in SW, yorubas don't do he is our son politics....at worst PDP will get what Jonathan got in SW in 2015..which is still even very impressive..
and the Tinubu factor will even affect Osinbajo negatively among a lot of Yoruba voters.
any sw presidency based on past sw elections history show it need a strong support of the north.

that is not what you said below is your quote:

you are clearly a bit of a dullard, you dont conceive an idea and it manifests immediately or establish the act of parliarment immediately, these things take time. there will be committees formed, discussions on feasibility, location, financing, etc before you finally come up with a plan and go ahead, that in itself can take years. it is only when you have have a detailed plan that you go ahead with the execution and the 1st phase in the execution is giving it legal identity by the act of parliarment. In fact there are many institutions in Nigeria (because of the way we do things these days) that exist before the law establishing them is passed.

The discussion was about conception, you are the one who introduced established into the equation clearly not understanding the difference.

admit you were wrong and stop trying to be clever by halves

You contradict yourself, make a fool of yourself with what you wrote and you still do not realise your folly. I suggest you go to Ife and take refresher courses in English as the above clearly shows you have a problem understanding the English language.

isthatso:
you clearly do not know your histroy, Awolowo conceived OAU, it was established under Akintola who suceeded Awo. You do not conceive a university today and establish it tommorow, Government is a continium. Buhari is building standard guage railways conceived under OBJ's regime. 4th mainland bridge was conceived many years ago, they have done the design but nothing has been done. If Sanwoolu decides to actually implement it are you going to say it was his conception?

Ife was Awo's brain child, Akintola was Awo's deputy and was only following Awos vision and masterplan for the region till he defected in 1962 after Ife had been established. Ife came into being i.e was established under Akintola but I dare you to google the internet and show me any official site or official literature that credits Akintola with the "conception" of Ife.

if Akintola was that important in ife's history (not that he isnt) why is it the first 2 (and biggest) male hostels are named after Awo and Fajuyi and the hall named after Akintola (Sports hall) is a smaller hall and wasnt named after him for decades...clearly an afterthought? Why was it named sports hall for so long and not Akintola from inception? Let me tell you why, because Awo was the visionary and Fajuyi did more for Ife than Akintola. Akintola established it, that is true but he was only following Awo's blueprint and Fajuyi was the one who provided the funds and gave Oluwasanmi his marching orders for the construction of the permanent site. Oluwasanmi despite not being the pioneer VC, had the library named after him because he was effectively the architect of what Ife eventually became. Awo, Oluwasanmi, Fajuyi did more for OAU than Akintola. What Akintola did was sign the law establishing ife as the sitting Premier. The conception, the leadership, the majority funding and the execution were not done by him although like I said I acknowledge that Ife came into existence under his leadership.

Just so i am clear, Awo conceived, Akintola established, Fajuyi funded, Oluwasanmi executed.

Understand the difference between Conception and established and maybe while you are it.......get some sense!!!!

the act establishing university of Ife was passed by the western region Parliament in 1961
(so how did awo who has clearly left as premier conceived it) ... awolowo left as premier of western region in 1959..he lost out as prime minister to tafawa balewa December 1959..
amazingly akintola imprint has been wiped out and Mr awolowo is now credited for a university he never built.

isthatso:
OAU was never an offshoot of UI. UI was owned by the federal government right from inception. University of Ife was conceived by Awolowo and owned by the Western government, just like ABU was owned by the Norther region and UNN Eastern region until the Gowon regine took over all universities in the early 1970s. Their temporary site was in ibadan while the ife campus was being constructed but that is as far as the connection with ibadan. University of Ife has more connection with ibadan poly (i beleive they shared their site as a temporary base) than it has with UI.....they have absolutely zero connection with UI and were never an offshoot and has no affiliation with UI.

Awolowo conceived Ife because the federal government at the time refused to establish more universities in the western region and Awolowo realised the west needed more universities to cope with the students who were graduating from his free education programmes. If you understand this you will know ife could never have been an offshoot because Ife was established in protest to the federal govt policy which he felt was shortchanging his people.
you are speaking nonsense...
awolowo never had anything to do with oau...its just revised history and most of u don't read.
university of Ife was conceived and established by chief S.L Akintola, premier of western region then.
all these apoda and their second hand history.

Buckubuck:
Good you acknowledge genuine explanations were made to cure your stupidity. Instead of you to take the drugs in peace and stand corrected, you decide to exhibit the symptoms of imbecility peculiar to your bloodline which means you're not ready for a cure. It is a pitiable circumstance to be a happy fool and to revel in it. But since its a generational thing, I leave you to the clap of bystanders. grin grin
that guy is as dumb as his forefathers.
