It's a shame that years later there is still no change worth the blood of these young people. Citizens are being killed on daily basis and there has been promises to end the killing hundreds of times from the cowardice government. From what I have heard other Nigerians say and from my own expectation, a good government must be able to hold someone accountable for the death of every citizen but in this case those in charge of affairs are shying away from their responsibilities rather they are shielding sponsors of murderers, protecting corrupt officers and appointing them to key possitions as if to say 'welldone do more'. I personally have lost confidence in the current president and won't waste my vote on him in the coming election. May the soul of our innocent brothers and sisters who lost their valuable lives in 2011 rest in perfect peace.

Sincerely, what do you need from this regime that they aren't addressing presentlyhuh? What change does Buhari representhuh Change to parochialismhuh Has he acquired any new ideas or is he planning to use 1984 solutions on a 2014 challengeshuh That's disaster for sure...What's his roadmap to a better Nigeriahuh Let him present it for all to see if he had any, which I doubt. I will provide you security, employment, food etc HOWhuh How will he do ithuh
We have insecurity at its peak and as far as the president is concerned there is no corruption. The president did some good works but protecting, embracing and even rewarding corrupt people is the problem with his style of leadership. No one can resolve the major problems of this nation without tackling corruption. We need a leader that will strengten the judiciary to independently work. Suppose Buhari is the sponsor of bokoharam and he is walking around free instead of cooling of in the prison, who is to blame? Our prison are full of people who stole because of hunger while armed robbers and mighty looters of our resources are being celebrated everyday by thesame government that should do the needful.

Hmmm...you have some points. Honestly I am voting for Buhari in the coming election because there is no any other viable alternative not because I believe in any old politician's sainthood. We need change and he seems to be the only one allowed for now. Personally, I can't endure another 4 years of this regime that keep promising without actions.

U.S is a funny country, they are concern about the safety of civilians. My question is, is it not thesame civilians boko haram is killing in their hundreds almost on a daily basis? At least we don't need another prophet to tell us they are only concern about the fulfilment of their prophecy of divided Nigeria by 2015

No we didnt do counselling. I got preggy before marriage.

@cococandy, thanks so much.
Ok. That is probably one of the issues, calm him down and talk things over. You will still have to make him marry you legally in order for him to respect you the way you deserve.
Family › Re: My Husband Says I Am The Cause Of His Problem by olu77(m):
Finance is always a serious issue in mariage, nevertheless, device a way of communicating your feeling without hurting his ego. Men are naturally aggressive when they can't take care of their obligations as at when due. The first year of marriage is always very tough and couples have to be very careful...by the way, did you guys do marriage counseling before your wedding?

Note, he might have blamed you for his problem if you had pushed him into living a fake life, either by taking a 5 bed duplex when his or your joint income could only pay for a 2 bedroom apartment, equally if you had done an elaborate wedding instead of cutting your dress according to your cloth. Whatever the case may be talk with your husband and spare the world another child brought up without parental love.

I disagree. Unlike the HIV test, you shouldn't be scared of taking a DNA test to prove the paternity of your children if you havn't done anything wrong. So you can;t really compare both
I feel better with HIV test than doing DNA considering the consequence of wasted years. Meanwhile there is also stigmatization when people are aware the children you've been nurturing belong to either your steward or your driver.

Suppose you are in your 60s or 70s and you have laboured all your life to cater for children who are not yours biologically, the heatbreak can cut one's life short.

Choose one now between children and money. By the way, why would she want any more children when she already has one, you, whom she cares for and spends on?

Note: if you marry another woman you will go from being a consumer to a producer because you will have to fend for the children

Let's leave the region he's from and tackle the matter of suicide.

If how you described it, is how he killed himself, then that man must be under some strong influence....

NB: no condition/situation, justifies suicide as far as I'm concerned.
I agree with you
Nairaland General › A Father Of 2 Slaughters Himself in Lagos by olu77(op): 9:44pm On Nov 06, 2014
I was driving along CMD Road, near Otedola bridge at about 12:15pm earlier today when I noticed people screaming, while a guy in white shirt was struggling with something in the gutter. I pulled to the side of road jumped out of the car to see what was going on. As I approached the scene, the guy in white emerged with a small kitchen knife looking shocked and perplexed. When I moved closer I saw a slim man in black shirt and trousers laying face down in the gutter.

I learnt from eye witnesses that the man who is from the nothern part of the country was a labourer at a nearby block factory, a father of two young children with a heavily pregnant wife. According to eyewitness account, they saw him stepped into the gutter and before anyone could say 'why' he brought out a knife and started slaughtering himself by the time the guy in white could succeed in wrestling the knife out of his hand, despite threat of been stabbed, the damage has already been done.

This shows how dangerous and carefree this abokis are about life if this guy could gruesomely slit his own throat he could have killed in the past using same method.
