Lol..nope I don't. I was very young when I joined NL o..so don't let it fool you.

Bros...you see ehn. You brought that child into the world, you are primarily responsible for him/her. The society doesn't give two fuqs about your child, the school can monitor their education and instill some morals but YOU, as the parent, need to KNOW your child. Most parenst are too busy to have time for their kids, instead buying them expensive toys to fill in the gap.

Your child is your responsibility, not the society's, not the school's ( your money is what they care about, schools are not charities). Take charge
I agree with 'primarily'. When the children are in school the teachers assume the role of parents. The teachers and the school authority are expected to notify the parents of any attitude that they noticed that is inappropriate. Except you are expecting parents to lock their children at home and not expose them to the society. By the way, children spend more time in school than at home.

I am not implying that parents are not to blame I am just of the opinion that the school and the society can not be excused or the parent can not take larger share of the blame. We have to personally look at our own days of growing up as children and we'll realize that our parents did not know everything about us for fear of repercussion. We are not even sure this girl has a personal smart phone

No matter on what side of the fence of opinion we choose to stand, this is a big lesson for everyone of us and that is probably all tha matter right now

<<< I think the school were to be blamed for what happened...
<<< They neglected the children that was entrusted in their care..
<<< Assuming it happened in Nigeria, I would have blamed the parent... Where were the teachers when these kids were playing the truth or dare?.. to the extent of having Sex.. where did they go to?...

If it was overseas, they would have fired all the teachers that embarked on that trip.. because of their negligence, the school now have bad name and reputation...
The kids must have been doing it in school before embarking on that excursion because even though I can't watch the video from the way you guys describe the whole event, it seems natural to them. Kids who have been abused one way or the other will abuse other kids

Well burning Quran or saying something nasty against those that muslims hold in high esteem has always been the fastest way to start conflict. Weak people probably seems week to you because they believe that God should fight for people not the other way round. You can burn all the bible in the world but you can't burn the one in my heart so I won't attack anyone because of the book. God can fight his own battles

Go and join the army.

He founded UGM and praised their killings.

Bandits don't have a house address, they don't live among humans that
is why some of them are "enjoying" freedom.

Had Kanu also relocated to the jungle before starting his campaign of terror,
he will be a free man today.
Terrorism in Nigeria is a controversial issue to debate on, but can you say 100% that government can be fighting an enemy for more than 20 years and not have detail idea of their financial sources and the directors behind the scene?

What about pardoned terrorists who will later find their way back? Government will just have mercy on their own beloved ones until the next government comes around

Where I fault the parent is relying on society/school to train your child for you. There's no way in hell that an attentive parent would allow her child to go to Dubai without proper controls in place. This is international travel with covid and everything, HOW? Na so 9ja schools dey reliable?
Well bro, except we want to lock our kids at home to train them, the school/society has significant role in their training. We can't completely prevent cases like this because the society comprise of both good and bad people...not even church is safe for kids.

I understand that it's international travel but I believe no parent could have anticipated the scandalous aspect of this excursion. This singular excursion could have had a lot of impact on a positive minded kid and those might just be1 to 10% of the total population of students...who knows?

The school was careless, yes. But this was not the girl's first encounter or the fifth. She is a pro. Who groomed her sexually? These are questions to be answered. Others in the video are also sexually experienced. How come they are so exposed to sex at such a young age? What kind of upbringing do these kids have from home? Can the girl be placed on therapy to overcome this ordeal? These are questions to be answered. Not just closing down the schools and re-opening them after a month for the same thing to happen again!
From what I read in this statement delivered by the school it seems there could be other students amongst the other 71 students who could have engaged in thesame act but either did not record or release the video. Again if the video of these 5 kids had not been released by one of them it would have been business as usual for the school. No matter how much we blame the parents it was the duty of the school at this location to prevent this disgrace and they failed terribly.

It's not the job of society to raise your child!
Maybe it's the collective job of society to ensure that rules and regulations are adhere to. It's probably the job of society to regulate public consumptions that could have destructive effect on the society at large.

I can not completely blame the parents of this girl, we all went through these foundational schools and we know that untrained kids will corrupt trained ones and kids generally pretend around their upright parents.

Many parents abusing this girl's parent have worst kids acting like saint at home the day they will discover that is when they will know that training a kid is a collective responsibility. School environment is where kids learn from both their teachers and their mates

U are on point dear, but never allow emotion to take over u bcs a 15year old girl of this generation know left from right.
Sometimes age has nothing to do with maturity... haven't you seen men behaving like boys on Nairaland? It's just that in civilized society like ours, parents are still majorly responsible for a 15 years old as long as the kid did not buy the phone from the proceeds of her own labour, I will hold the parents responsible for not keeping eyes on the asset they got for her.

I completely got your point though...I know there are a lot of 15 years old who can think independently but naturally, parents should teach their teenagers about sex otherwise mischievous people will lie to destroy their lives

Whether girl child or boy child, I believe underage children should just be treated as underage children to avoid bringing shame to their parents

The two parties are to be blamed, both d adult male and d girl child.
If d girl child is not enjoying d conversation, she would hv informed d mum long time ago than hiding it and also passwording her phone.
Or d girl child would hv reported to her teacher on school, imagine adult offering her gifts and money and she accepted them without fear.
When I talk about female, dem go cum for my head,
The blame should go to the paedophile and the girl's parent who gave an underage girl a personal phone with right to privacy

To some extent you say? Well maybe you are right, yes, we might not experience a direct hit. But the ripple effects are better imagined. Economies of the world are intertwined, and as evident with the skyrocketing cost of all sort of products as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine, imagine the impact of a full blown war in Europe. And considering we have in quantum clueless leaders, and countries that relies majorly on imports, it is going to be catastrophic.

And remember, despite being an oil producing country, we still import virtually all the refined petroleum products we consume are imported. International waters on whose corridor these goods gets to Africa will be shut against cargoes, because war ships and submarines will take it over. Cost of things triples, no monies to pay salaries as African govts won't be able to make money, the people will start protesting, the military will take over the streets, and all hell will break loose. I can keep going on and on.
You are absolutely right. Even if we escape the fire, we can not escape the hunger especially in Nigeria where leaders are never proactive and there is no reserve of any basic thing.

WW3 would actually have been an opportunity for africa to take back its place in the world leadership environment, if only we are prepared. With war in the other continents, the only go to place for foods, ammunitions, machineries and energy to power them, would have been Africa and that could be a massive demand that will eventually change the fortune of the continent but these people in leadership lack foresight and the followers only care about their stomach too.

This war can be delayed but can not be debarred

I know he can't win a nuclear war against NATO, but what happens to the human race afterwards? Polluted waters and land...have you watched the documentary on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs. No one wants to practically find the capability of either side's arsenal or the potential aftereffects of a nuclear war. Everyone needs to stay level headed. Carrot and & stick should go a long in resolving this issue.

Any itchy finger pulls the trigger first, MAD (mutually assured destruction) is guaranteed!
