I have been living in the US for almost a decade, and I can tell you that value of $1,000 in the US is less than 90k in Nigeria.

It is surprising that many of you, including graduates, don't understand that you can't just arbitrarily convert dollars or pounds to naira in this context.

You cannot start a family anywhere in the US with $1, 000. You would need at least a job that pays you $6,000 per month to think of marriage. An ideal monthly salary would be around $10,000.

With 1.5 million in Nigeria, you can afford to marry a jobless partner, support two children, and own a decent car.

You could eat out in Nigeria with 2k, but eating out in the US would cost you around 25 dollars (35k). I get a haircut every month for $50 (75k) in the US. In Nigeria, I could get the same haircut for around 1k.

If you have a baby in the US, you would need to spend around $2,000 (3 million) per month on day care. In Nigeria, you would pay maybe 50k.

I laugh each time I see some posts on social media converting people's salary in UK/US/CA to naira, thinking the naira equivalent of those figures have the same impact in those countries. It is unfortunate that some people have such mentality.

That being said, if you manage to have some savings in places like US and you bring such to Nigeria, you could tie up a project.

Before you even reach the stage for CAN+, you would have already submitted your visitor visa application.
The Visa Application Centres (VACs) will automatically screen all applications for CAN+ eligibility, so there’s no special place or separate form for that.

So, I’ll say it again:

At every point — even if you hold a current or previous Canadian or U.S. visa — you are still required to provide six months of bank statements.
There’s no stage in the visitor visa application process where you won’t need to submit six months of bank statements (personal or business account, etc.).
Even if you currently hold a valid U.S. visa, that does not exempt you from providing your bank statements.

I checked different comments about not being able to enter those countries due to initial 5 years ban, and I feel like and so what? Will the world come to an end because of that? Are they even gods?

I started thinking that we can also improve our status here in Nigeria like many people that I know without going to those countries. If we do, they will have no choice than to grant us visas when they see our intimidating profiles no matter previous ban.

Frankly, I looked at all the documents you sent and it was exactly what's needed however the Academic document e.g you ND, B.sc wasnt neccessary, Letter from your community leader wasn't necessary.. These guys may think you are desperate to come to Canada and won't want to come back. Ordinarily your documents submitted would have gotten your visa approved, I believe they didnt just want to issue the Visa, I would advice instead of reapplying, get an Ircc immigration lawyer for them to write a reconsideration Letter, most people get there Visa's after this Letter is sent within few days.. They will look at your application calmly and reconsider. Try that before reapplying because I don't know what other document you would send as you had already sent more than enough maybe letter from your ancestor is left..

Imagine those documents for ordinary visiting visa.

Once unnecessary documents is submitted most of the visa officer get pissed off.
