Bag area is nothing to speak of, dirty airport When last did you use the airport? You must be talking about the old terminal which is under renovation. New terminal is very beautiful |

House34: Sometimes, what many Nigerians call saving money feels more like living in deprivation. They can't buy good clothes, go on holidays, or even enjoy decent food, often living in poor conditions. It makes me wonder if life is just about saving and living like a slave in bondage. I know many Nigerians with Canadian passports who have never even stepped out of Toronto, all in the name of saving. I remember stopping by a store to buy meat, and my friend suggested that chicken is cheaper, so he switched from eating meat to pork or chicken. I just shook my head. If I can live well and eat well in Nigeria, what's the point of coming here and living like a cockroach just to save money?I visited a man once and noticed the living room light was off, and the children were using the TV's light as their source of illumination. When I asked why we were in darkness, he said they were practicing the culture of saving electricity. But inside, I thought, "This is practicing the culture of a poverty mindset. These are the same people who, back in Lagos, would drink beer and wine, but once they get to Canada, they can't even sit in a bar for a day to enjoy a drink. People are going to extremes all in the name of saving. It's so sad! Hmmm On point |

funkyy598: Comparing an Uber delivery driver in Toronto, whose wages barely cover their bills—as evidenced by the recent protests by uber drivers in the city—to a doctor in another country is simply unfair. I’ve followed your posts for a while, and in one of them, you even compared a floor cleaner in Canada earning more than a bank manager in Nigeria without even comparing the cost of living . It’s clear that your perspective is heavily influenced by your experience of living in abject poverty in Nigeria. However, arriving in Canada, working as an Uber driver, and living on minimum wage doesn’t give you the right to criticize others who came here with professional qualifications, striving for better career opportunities, even if they’ve faced challenges or disappointment along the way.
You’ve also shared in your posts that you come from a "wicked" family that sabotaged your business back home. While that’s unfortunate, not everyone shares those experiences. Many of us come from decent, supportive families with different aspirations and expectations. Please stop projecting your childhood and adult trauma, pain, struggles, and the abject poverty you escaped onto every situation. Your past hardships shouldn’t become the standard by which you measure others’ success or ambitions in life.
Everyone’s journey is unique, and respecting that diversity is essential. Well said 🤗 |

affoncad: Your response highlights a common issue in the way we talk about the immigrant experience, especially within the Nigerian community. Often, when one or two people find success, it can lead to victim-blaming of the thousands who are facing difficulties, as if they aren’t doing enough or aren’t smart enough. This attitude is all too common and dismisses the real challenges that many immigrants face. It’s important to celebrate success stories, but let’s not ignore the reality for the majority. The system can be unfair, and thousands of new immigrants genuinely struggle to find suitable jobs. But often, as Nigerians, we hide our struggles and celebrate small wins as though they reflect everyone’s experience in Canada. Your examples of a doctor or tech professional succeeding can feel like an insult to the many who are still struggling in silence and making huge effort and still could not get a much desire job or any level of financial freedom! I contacted an agent, he told me 3m for one adult, 5m for two adult, 7m for family of 5(going with my kids), but am thinking of going first because of finance, then bring my family later when I secure a job or settle down well. I am currently living in Kuwait. Should I go ahead and use the agent or DIY? Note that the agent intends to do a Visiting Visa for me. Or If I am to DIY how do I go about it? Is that your agent the Canadian consular? Putting price on visa as if na him go issue am 😁. Paying exorbitant money for ordinary visit visa, which can lead someone into depression after on. Don't even try it, taking family of 5 to Canada with visit visa. Toyoakoms: Good morning everyone, please I need help with my 2006 Honda Civic. I’m a first time car owner and barely have any knowledge on cars.
So I had gotten this car in September, it was inspected, everything worked perfect with no issues. More recently I noticed the AC was not cooling anymore and was blowing hot air. So an AC guy came to inspect and said there was a leak. The leak was fixed and AC refrigerant was added and the AC ran cold again.
However I immediately noted that the AC cuts off after very few minutes and would not come on again, so he said that it’s a rewire’s job that the rewire will need to check the fuses.
We drove the car to the rewire and he started checking the fuses, next thing we noted was not he was unable to start the car again. The car cranks but just won’t start. He spent the whole day trying to get the car looked through the sparks, fuses, fuel pump and called other professionals and none of them were able to get the car to start and we had to leave the car at the mechanic shop.
I’m so bothered cause literally nothing was wrong with the car before now. It ran perfectly and never had to fix anything on it. Please can anyone help
Also worthy to note was one of the other rewires took note that the car key light was not present on the dashboard.
Please help 🙏🏾 The rewire messed up with your Ecu brain box. Let them stop messing up with your wiring, they should replace the brain box first and see |
