I do have a valid us visa, I applied first for trv last year to speak at a conference in Canada but by the time I received my passport back from the embassy the conference was over so ended up not travelling at all. However, that passport expired in August 2023 so I only had a one year visa valid till then. I renewed my passport this year and wanted to have the TRV just in case I have an impromptu need to travel to Canada so I applied again.

I only attached four documents, my passport, appointment letter from my organization and my valid us visa and a letter stating what I do and that I wanted to travel to see canada. I didn't attach bank statement because it wasn't requested for( Please attach as much as you think you need, I personally just decided not to 😜, everyone's case is different O).

Just wanted to share. This is my second time applying so I sincerely do not have a whole wealth of experience to share on Canada visa process as both times for me were quite simple a d straightforward.


Quick question if anyone knows before I send in my passport? Not sure the yellow paper I got for biometrics last year came back with my passport when I submitted, I can't find it. I did biometrics in Lagos, but plan on sending to Abuja. Will paying for Transmission fee cover for not attaching the yellow biometric slip? Thanks everyone.

It will be better if you can withdraw the application and reapply for a new one....

The current application will be rejected based on that, webform or email will basically do nothing.

The earlier you withdraw the better.... if you think you don't wanna withdraw then send webform with explanation but I'm very sure it will have no positive effect....

@anyination: Your friend is about to dupe you. For a foreigner outside Canada to be issued a work visa, the person should go through LMIA. Nigerians are not qualified for it, and for a company to go all the length to ensure that is possible, the candidate is expected to possess in-demand skills to warrant going through the process. Your friend will dupe you should you go for it. If you go for it, please don't come crying here because I will patiently be waiting here to gloat at you. I am very good at it.

You do not qualify for a work permit from outside Canada.
It's only citizen from the Caribbean qualify for the farming work permit.

Thou it's possible to get LMIA job, which can be runs by your friend but it cost way more than 3.5m he's claiming. It start from 15k cad.

Even if you wants to try your luck, pls don't spend or touch from your poultry capital.

My car was doing 23 AVG MPG but I had exhaust leakage then I gave it to panel to block the exhaust leakage, ever since I got my car back from the panel, it has never done above 18.0 AVG MPG

Like my fuel is just dropping so badly, complained to the panel and he said it’s because there’s no catalyst inside the car, I wasn’t sure if there was any catalyst inside the car before I gave it to him, I asked him if there wasn’t catalyst inside it and I was doing 23 AVG MPG so how come I’m just doing 18 AVG MPG, he couldn’t give a reasonable response, he then advised I fill up the catalyst pot and I would see difference, I did fill the catalyst pot but I’m still doing 18 AVG MPG…

Pls come to my aide as this is driving me crazy, me that use to use 25miles out of my fuel from ilupeju to ajah is now using 65miles upwards for same distance and this panel is claiming he didn’t do anything to my car….

In my situation I’m diverting into tech. Instead of paying close to 20k for lmia, go to school n enroll for demanding skills in Canada like data analytics, IT, project management, UI/UX etc. If you can acquire if from home, that’s a good advantage.

The guy I met here, I wish he can share his experience so far but Baba wants everything settled first. I really like how the guy planned his journey, he activated his plan B immediately when he landed. He won’t come online to tell you his struggle until he’s stable. I understand the truth is harsh. All the challenges I’ve faced in Canada didn’t come as a surprise to me because I’ve listened to the truth n I know the reality of things.

If you are still hoping on converting visitor visa to work permit, is better for you to abort mission cos it'll never happen.

Just be prepared to enroll in school, have a Canadian degree, apply for job with your degree then boom you will have your PR in no time.
