Morning Everyone, My Dad was issued a Canadian visit visa yesterday but would not be able to go to VFS Global Lagos until January third week to pick up his passport . He is engaged with multiple commitments in the village now. He mentioned they asked him to come and pick up the visa within 7 days or else the passport would be returned after 30 days. Please is there anyone or number at VFS global i can contact to ask them to hold his passport till Janaury 3rd week ? I would appreciate. I have tried scheduling visa pick up appointment but i noticed i can only schedule for Biometric or Passport Request submission. Thanks to everyone that can advice ?

Wait...
What happen to courier service?

Anybody can pick up the passport for him once you give a signed permission

please any advice will greatly be appreciated...I received an email from ircc saying "we need something from you to continue processing your application" and when I called the agent to check what message it was .she said ircc requested for an affidavit stating that I will return to my country after visiting Canada... please has anyone here received something like this.

Thunder fire your agent there....
Lies from the pit of hell....

IRCC will never asked you for any stupid affidavit of return, that document carries no weight....

The only question I will ask you is,,,,
Do you drop all your required documents to the agent to submit on your behalf, expecially pof..... Or your agent promised to package documents for you?

I am thinking perhaps I should get an affidavit. Though all the names are correctly spelt, just the arrangement between the first and middle name.

That shouldn't be a problem since names are correctly spelt

Hello friends, kindly look at my profile and see if I might be qualified for a Canadian Visit visa, the following documents are ready and I'll upload the application by January, I plan to spend 1week max, though I wrote 14days in my application. I'm 30yrs and single, all family in Nigeria

1)No travel history
2) GTB account 4 million plus
3) Fidelity account 4 million plus
4) Access DoM account 6000 USD
5) Access naira account 900k with average
monthly turnover of at least 12 million
6) Deed of gift of 2 story rental property from
my father with the notarized land docs
attached
7) Receipts of the rents received by me for the
past 2 years with pics of the house attached
8 ) my car documents and pictures
9) Introduction letter from company
10)Employment letter from company
11)Leave approval letter from company
12)Promotion contract agreement from
company
13)Affidavit of Assurance to leave Canada and
return to Nigeria after my stay
sworn in court
14) 3 US student visa denial leaflets attached
15)My academic credentials (WAEC, Bsc, NYSC,
Birth certificate, e.t.c)
Will these be normally sufficient to improve somebody's chances of approval?

Your profile looks good but unfortunately no one can tell if you qualify for visa or not.

To me personally, this your profile isn't good enough without travel history.
I will advice you to try visit some other countries for vacay

You are wrong bro not only wrong but very very wrong.

To interest you, 5 of my friends with no history applied for Canada tourist visa Oct 12 and did biometric 18th, of Oct. Got a request to submit passport Dec 22.

I won't like to talk further about mine...

But all you need to understand is that you have to submit necessary documents to enable you get a desire request.

Also often times when your appointment is taking to long before getting response from them it is 90% certain you will be granted Visa. But people who get refuser get it very fast within few days/weeks.

When did those your acclaimed friends submit and did biometric?

Do have a great day brother.

Visa has been approved and passport requests letter received.
Passport was submitted today, I'm asking how long will it take to get the passport back from vfs.

Send email to KML for more clarity

Thanks to everyone who continually share these experiences on this platform. Here to also share my timeline:
Application submitted: 17 Aug 2023
Biometric done: 31st Aug 2023
Biometric updated: 3rd Oct 2023

However, I have not been able to submit my passport because I’m currently not in Nigeria. A friend suggested I send my passport down to nigeria to be submitted on my behalf but I do not feel it’s safe.
My question is this, can I submit my passport at the VAC office in the country where I’m currently? Do I need to first inform them in Nigeria before doing so? Please I really need answers as I’m running out of time given the 30days to submit passport. Thanks!

You can submit at your current location.
Check with the Canada visa office at your current location.

Please do not try to send your passport via DHL to Nigeria

American visa interview is not that very hard to pass, you will be asked about what you wrote on your Ds160 when completing your applications
I.e
Whats is taking you to the US
What are you doing presently here in Nigeria
This is usually the first 2 questions, once you can convincingly tell the visa officer what you do here in Nigeria, then the next question

I believe it's plain law, they can be sued etc so they operate within the law regardless if it's third world country, I'm not saying they are perfect, of course it's at the discretion of visa officer. They need to tick some important thing off which include but not limited to:
Pof for purpose of visit (enough money to carry out purpose of travel)
Ties to country (employment, family, investment like real estate, etc)
Well thought out and articulated purpose of visit (itinerary)
Etc.
Like I said, it's all at the discretion of the visa officer. I've seen people with hefty money get denied.

You are absolutely correct πŸ’―

If you have a valid US visa, chances of getting Canada approval is very high and not 100% guarantee thou..
But for UK visa I'm not sure

I was thinking that, but then it doesn't say that anywhere on their websites. Only that applicant must have money large enough to cover the costs of the travel. Applicant must have ties, which I submitted an investment statement with a 1 million investment in my workplace, 935k staff savings and joint ownership of a land worth 3m naira. I also submitted employment contracts, pay stubs, affidavits etc

You might be right but get it in mind that applications from Nigeria are always treated differently.
All those things you see on their site might not entirely work for applications from this part of the world.

Please ppl I need help .. I’m presently in South Africa and I have been here since 2021.. My family came here 3 months ago and I am trying to apply for Canada visa .. I have registered company here and I have SA account aswell … I’m submitting my SA company registration with company bank statement with R600k and same company was reg in Nigeria with company account about 27m and my personal account from Nigeria with 40m and since I arrived in SA they are not issuing permit for anyone and I knew Canada only need biometrics by Vfs to submit your application online … I don’t know if it’s going to be a problem if I do not send a scan of SA permit when submitting the application cos I have seen a friend that got approved without permit … but my agent insisted if I can just find a good permit sticker to use cos it works like that too it I said we can try without permits.. please ur opinion in needed

Since you are applying from SA, you need to prove to them that you have a strong tie to south Africa So in such case your residence permit is highly mandatory.

My own advise to people on this Japa thing is not to disconnect from home. Home will always be home as titled in Sound Sultan(late) Song, "Motherlan" . When you make monies abroad, come back and invest your monies. Those of us that are experienced travelers will understand the message better.
In South Africa, 2019/2020, During the xephonbic attacks, i had people who lost their properties and valuables. Some of them had to be outbounded on an airpeace evacuation flight, practically coming back to start from the scratch.
It will be a disservice to yourself and family if you make monies abroad, and do not go home to do anything.
A word is enough for wise.
Migrate, make monies, come back and invest.
The goal is to have a secured future.

I wish everyone well.
