As someone living in Canada, I wish others would see this message and take it seriously, rather than looking at it and thinking its sole purpose is to discourage. Firstly, trying to japa to Canada on a visit visa is a very bad idea that should never be done. I know most won't still listen though, but I'm sure if you ask those who followed that process, they'll tell you never to try it. Doesn't matter if they are in a better position today, they know that things could have turned out differently. They can only count on luck.
And even if you are japaing on a PR visa, which is the better idea, caution still needs to be exercised. The country is not a bed of roses and you may never have the life you had back in Nigeria. Things are expensive, so expensive that these days, even earning 100k CAD per annum may not cut it, if you are living in Toronto. You'll just see yourself throwing money into different kinds of furnaces each month. This is a project that needs to be very well assessed before it is undertaken.

Hmmm absolutely well said but wait and get labelled 🥱 EOP

Reverse wnd then fix at what rate?
The gallop from 1k to 1.5k was quite clear over 3months ago. I'm surprised it took this long.

Once 1k was breached and the exchange settled above 1.2k, it was clear 1.5k was only a matter of time. I remember stating that here.
I expected the CBN to put a fight at 1.5k which they have. For the love of my nation, I hope they succeed else 2k and subsequently 3k wouldn’t take too long. If they can't reign in at this level, wouldn’t surprise me go for Domiciliary accounts soon as they are running out of options.

What surprised me this time was the haste in which the market responded. People have truly learnt. With previous devaluations, it usually took 2-3 months for the effect to be felt in the market. This time around, prices were up the next day.

1k most likely.

I pray they can reverse the policy without further delay but they won't . It's a presidential directive and only Tinubu can reverse it if we occupy the streets.

Another thing you should know is that politicians and elites including everyone in CBN can't shoot themselves, they are all in the USD speculation game.

They all save in USD, participate in the hoarding and speculation & cashing out big time.

CBN is even selling USD to banks at 1490 to banks, banks will sell 1550 to 1600 to BDC and BDC will sell 1700 & above.

Any scarcity will disrupt this price pattern and it goes further up.

If not for the secret subsidy fuel should be 1200 & above now angry

The policy is not working and it's getting out of control.

CBN will fix the rate at 1k... anytime soon

The economic crisis is heading the path of Venezuela.

USD @ 2000 is almost certain by march due to massive buying of USD for hoarding and speculation at any price.

A friend bought 5000 USD two days ago at 1495 and today it is at 1605. That is 110 x 5000 = 550k profit in few days.

Imagine those that can buy 100k USD for hoarding & speculation.

Floating naira was a terrible decision that will sink Nigeria if not reversed.

To compete well TB should be over 25% now BC it looks unwise to chain down money in naira for a year BC the value will be gone by the time you receive it due to super hyper inflation. USD is the Koko now

Buying dollar at this point is extremely risky..

CBN is about to reverse the floating of naira policy.

Morning my ogas,

Please I want to book flight from LAGOS to Halifax directly, so I saw a flight that suit my pocket on trip app, it's a long hours, but I don't mind. The flight moves from Lagos to Casablanca, then from Casablanca to Montreal YUL and from there to Halifax.

I am flying for the first time and don't know much in this area.

1, I want to know if I will be needing transit visa if I book this flight?

2, Which port of entry will I be interviewed or asked questions, is it Montreal YUL or Halifax airport?

3, If it's Halifax, how friendly are they at Halifax airport to immigrants from Africa? I have read people's testimonies about various airport but I have not read anything about Halifax.

4, if it's not safe to pass there, maybe I should just go to Montreal YUL first and go and book a local flight to Halifax.

Please, help your boy make he no enter one chance.

No transit visa required for this route...

You point of entry is Montreal, that's where you will be interviewed by the immigration officer.

After showing a convincing fact to the satisfaction of the VO that you have strong economic, home and financial ties, you said air Canada no be small money grin

The issue is Nigeria has history of abusing opportunities in Africa continent. Many of the almost 3000 asylum seekers for 2023 are doing fairly well in Nigeria.

Some asylum seekers has 10 years multiple entry visa and with wisdom and patience, they can get a better pathway. But no, Nigerians want quick quick and sharp sharp opportunities, thereby, affecting other citizens and making things difficult to those coming behind.

Now, what about the case of almost 2000 asylum seekers that were rejected? The home they are running from is where they would be coming back but with IMPLICATIONS- Deportation, whereas they had the opportunity of going and coming in the nearest future with multiple entry visa they had with them initially.

Those that have history of going to the US and coming back have 95% of getting Canada visa on a platter of gold (with right documentation). You will see them receiving approvals within 2 weeks of application because of what Canada Government saw as "INTEGRITY ". Now someone deported from the US for visa violation MAY NOT RECEIVE Canada visa EASILY

I do advise people before you carry out any action, weigh the consequences to the benefits. If you apply for asylum and it was not accepted, it will lead to deportation and most likely have an effect with your application to other western embassies and you will lose your multiple entry visa of many years on your passport, too.

But if you maintain your visa status, you can still come back in the nearest future and it can boost your chances of getting approved easily to other western embassies.

I am not against anyone's choice. But sometimes the bible says...."Above all wisdom is the principal thing". If the consequences of your actions will outweigh the benefits, don't try it

@bolded... We shouted and adviced people about this but some of them here keep calling us bad belle.

It's now up to them to face their foolishness.

It's just sad that they ruin the pathway for the genuine traveller 😞

I beg to differ, what was the person’s reason for refusal?
It will be along the line of he/she did not submit a document requested by the ircc after a slated period of time, or there is a misrepresentation in any of the document!
Timeline plays a major role in hopefulness if you are sure beyond reasonable doubts that you have been able to convince the visa officer that you will return to your country after your visit....

Timeline does nothing.....

IRCC can never be predicted, only God knows how those guys operate 🥱🤔

Let's be logical in our reasoning with facts: Canada is capping student visas due to concerns about pressure on accommodation, health facilities, and job availability. Many Canadian even residents are complaining, and it seems unlikely that the issuance of visitor visas will continue in large numbers. This is especially true considering the majority of arrivals are claiming asylum. Some provincial governments have already expressed concerns about the costs incurred in housing asylum seekers, turning it into a political issue.and many here think the liberal want to lose election due to immigration as the conservative are already blaming the govt for the problems ..l guess many people here do not know the politics of the west..the approval rate will drop drastically this year!

We are saying the same thing

Please out of curiosity, how does one apply for resident visa? Does having a tourist visa give you an edge or what? I also have a tourist visa. That's why I am asking. Please help with an answer thanks

Your visitor visa has no edge at all.

Apply for Express entry if you qualify or better still student visa....

The visa your holding is basically for visit

Which passport office will renew your passport when you still have 4yrs validity on the old one?

Meanwhile who told you it's certain IRCC will issue you 10yrs visa even though your biometric and passport are valid for 10yrs?

IRCC are unpredictable.... I know someone that was issue 6months and the other person 2 years, when both of their passport are valid for 5yrs, biometric 10yrs.

Exactly! It's the same thing we are saying. As long as it is one stop over, regardless of the European airline, then it requires no transit visa. Once you have over one stop over, then it requires a transit visa because sometimes, at a particular point in time, airlines do partnership. If they don't have any flight available that is going to your destination at that moment, they will partner with a partnership airline.

There are flights going from Paris to Toronto from Nigeria (with one stop) but some may be ignorant to unknowingly pick the one with two stops in different European countries probably because of low fare. But they won't let them board from Nigeria. Imagine the psychological trauma of missing your flight and paying extra to re-book because one lack information

Truth 💯

That is what our general belief has been. But now some airlines are now into partnership. From the screenshot below, Air France doesn't have any flight to Toronto, instead, they reconnect you with KLM (my own belief).

I have heard people complaining about this 2 stops in European countries with transit visa requirements, was why I dropped my two kobo.

I have used Qatar but their liquid stuff disapproval to board with you was my disappointment. I don't want to remember what they trash from my hand luggage 😕 😒

Airfrance have flight route to YYZ Toronto, I have used them multiple times.
No transit required.... Lagos - Paris - Toronto.

But sometimes they pear with KLM and will require a transit visa because will route via two European countries in this case.

You just need to check the itinerary very carefully before you booked with them.

That has always been hear say from Time memorial

I'm never an agent but I have friends and relatives who equally intend travelling out and still have about 4 families and friends waiting for their passport to be issue at Immigration office so I hope that as answered your question.

Assuming I don't know about this in particular then I will keep believing same.

For benefits of doubt I will mail you now, to show you exactly the details.

Talking about knowing what your agent fill for you to me are just rumors as I won't believe this particular one is favor.

The doesn't have access to the previous as the agent refuse to give him anything nor details before the new one.

You can respond to my mail, I won't be here misleading people. But you can as well tell us just one person you see that such affect if not hear say

@bolded... I know someone personally that got 5yrs ban cos of misrepresentation.
He used 2 different agent on both application but the second agent got him ban meanwhile the agent submitted all the personal information he presented and all documents are genuine. But got ban cos of contradicting information on his UCI.

Well, as for someone you know that got his own approved, I will say grace speak for him and some visa officer are calm and won't go deep while some will focus more on background check.
Any contradicting info will automatically lead to refusal or even ban... Don't play with Kenya VO....

I will not argue further on it cos you just told us your personal experience in such case but as for myself, I will never advice someone to risk such

He was actually scared when we started the application based on what people have been saying about knowing what the agent submitted on is behave but we ignore the past completely expect the biometric

Wait let me try and post it if it will be posted as have been trying to post pictures since but not uploading.

Please I still can't upload it, I will like to show you both the passport stamped and the date of the biometric and the year, before The new application.. so all this you need to know what your previous agent submitted na scam to me as I was fully involved in the reapplying as we used new email since we can't get the previous from the agent

Are you an agent?
Reason why I asked is that, you always sound as if you are the only one that knows majority of people that applied for Canada visa, if not your friends, it will be someone close to you.
Na all your relatives wan Japa go Canada ni?

Meanwhile.... what you said up there is very misleading and could lead to a long time ban.
How could you said what was filled in the previous application does not matter?
