It really would be a welcome development. More publicity and fame for Iranian cheap drones. cool But only if some sector of the Uki officers did not sell it to the Russians who in turns would transfer them to the Iranians for reverse engineering as they normally do.
So you think using Patriot missile that cost around $3 million dollars is ideal for shooting down a drone that cost only $20k.

NB: You need to fire two missiles to take down one incoming drone or missile.

Nice one from POTUS Biden. Tramp was a freaking opportunist who used religion as a tool.... Quite shameful the Righteousness guy think The USA(Fallen Babylon) are the bad guys because of the LGBQT sh!t and blah blah blah.. I don't understand: why are people concerned with the bedroom activities of other people?
The US is the devil. They are accusing Russia of doing what they have done several times. The US is a threat to global peace. Millions of people have died in the hand of the US.

This is why they say absolute power corrupt absolutely. Russia is fighting your war and most people don't know it. In Syria, the US is looting Syrian crude oil. The US has it biggest military base in Africa, located in Somalia. Despite the presence of the US, pirates and insurgents rule the country.

If only people can think. They will understand the US is the biggest threat to the global peace.

In conclusion, this is complete waste of money against advance adversary....Very good for bombing 3rd world countries with no airforce & Ak wielding herders though....grin

You guys have said that from the beginning. These aren’t reservists, they are fresh conscripts.
These people do not have any military service. How can 18 and 19 year old boys, guys that have been in prison since their youth, and immigrant students have previous military service? Even some of the elderly men have admitted that they have no experience. This came from Eastern news sources and the Kremlin itself.
1stGenAmerican:
I can’t use those video clips to prove anything. Russia continues conscripting grandfathers, convicts, and African students. The Russian Army is even offering pay and citizenship to foreigners if they enlist in the fight. All of that signals serious deficiencies and doesn’t sound like an Army that boasted 3 million men .
There are different groups fighting on the Russians likewise Ukraine. The Russian military is not recruiting foreigners & prisoners. It is the Wagner group that are doing that. The Wagner already has soldiers in Africa, Middle East & Europe (in Ukraine before the invasion). The Wagner is the one recruiting foreigners. The US started it first. The black waters is a private military company in US. They operated in Iraq. The US govt gave them the contract.

I can send you a video where the Wagner trains it own troops. Mind you the Wagner is performing well on the battlefield.

There are lots of things pple don't know about the military.

The 300k men called up are not conscripts. They are reservists. These are the people who have served in the military previously. The entire 300k are not going to be sent to the frontline. It doesn't work like that. If a country deploys 300k troops to the battlefield. Have it at the back of your mind that only about 1/3 of the 300k will be sent to the frontline. The bulk of the 300k will be incharge of logistics (drivers, technicians, engineers, sappers e.t.c) & manning of the supply lines. So the young and old are useful in the military.

And if Ukraine lost that much, who have rushed to conscript more civilians into the fighting force?
Well, if you need evidence that Ukraine has lost a lots of soldiers. Here it is. Ukraine has done full mobilization four (4) times.

Russia conscripted a huge amount of men at once. Their existing so,diets were wearing inadequate clothing and boots with holes so how would they have managed to outfit thousands upon thousands of new conscripts when they couldn’t properly outfit the first batch?
The drone video of the Russian soldiers in the pit tells me all I need to know.
You can not use a single video clip to judge the state of the entire Russian troops in Ukraine. You can only judge base on the situation on the battlefield. Have you seen the videos/pictures of the Chenchens, Russian soldiers and Wagner? Do they look like troops that are not well armed or that don't have the necessary gears?

It is the LPR & DPR Militias that are not well equipped not the real Russian troops.

By being outdoors 24 hours each day, 7 days each week without properly insulated clothing or shoes, necessities that the Russian failed to provide. Even residents of Siberia still have basic human blood streams and bodies that fall into hypothermia just like someone from Africa, America, or any other country.
The idea that the Russian troops are not being provided with winter gears is absurd. The Russians are advancing in Donetsk. The defence line in Lugansk has become unbreakable for the Ukrainians. They are not demoralised. I believe they are being provided with everything they need.

The LPR & DPR have been fighting for years. So how have they been surviving winter? The winter has never been an issue for the militias and it will be an issue for the Russians. This winter is not special.

Normally the ratio of the attackers to the defenders is supposed to be 3:1. Which means if Ukraine has 200k soldiers, Russia is supposed to use 600k troops to invade Ukraine. But this war is different. The Ukrainians have more men than Russia. The only reason Russia has been able to carry on with the operation is the superior it enjoys in military equipments (especially Artillery pieces).

The defender has more men than the attacker. The attacker has a lots of fire power. So the attacker has been able to inflict a lots of losses on the defenders. The Ukraine casualties is more than the Russians It is way more the 13k the Ukrainians claimed. There is a reason the Ukrainians are keeping the casualty figure secret I think after the war. The real casualty figure will be released.

TenQ:
The issue is that Russia did not prepare for a war, they prepared for a special military operation that was supposed to last for a maximum of two weeks. Secondly, the newer conscripts were dressed in OLDER uniforms that are not as effective for cold insulation.

Unfortunately, the Ukrainians are getting more than enough supplies of the winter camouflages from the west.
This is absolute nonsense. Is like people don't know that the Russians are also Europeans (white). If the LPR & DPR that are not well armed & equipped can survive several winter, it is common sense that the Russians will have no problem surviving the winter. The winter has never been a big deal and it will never be. The Russian troops were deployed to the border last year before winter. So how did they survive? Despite the fact that the facility at the Ukraine-Russian border was not built to accommodate such large troops.

I hope that by January, if thousands of Russians don't die as you have predicted. You will stop listening to the people feeding you with unverified information.

Consequences in a dictatorship?
There is nothing special about this winter. The LPR & DPR Militias have been fighting the Ukrainian military since 2014. They have been through several winter.

The idea that Putin is a dictator and that he can do whatever is like, is false. Putin can not afford to loose the support of it people.

Recently he had to talk face to face with the mothers of some of the soldiers (dead or alive) on the battlefield . He had to persuade (convince) them HIMSELF. A dictator won't do that. Russians won't accept any unnecessary lose of their soldiers to the winter.

Russian Soldiers Are Freezing To Death In Eastern Ukraine
Story by David Axe, Forbes Staff • 15h ago

-There is a video link in the story of a Russian soldier with hypothermia struggling to commit suicide that was too brutal for me to finish watching. View at your own peril. Not the Twitter video on the source page, the story with the hyperlink.

The Ukrainian army has deployed some of its best brigades to eastern Ukraine, including the 92nd and 93rd Mechanized Brigades and the 1st Presidential Brigade. But these elite Ukrainian formations might not be the biggest killer of Russian troops in the east. Under-trained, under-supplied and ambivalently led, Russians in the region are freezing to death by the dozen.

Shocking videos that have circulated online in recent weeks tell a tragic story. The videos, shot by the Ukrainian brigades’ hovering drones, depict Russians in the late stages of hypothermia, so cold and sick that they barely react when the drones drop lethal improvised bombs on them.

Thomas Theiner, an ex-soldier who currently is a filmmaker in Kyiv, predicted winter “would kill more Russian soldiers than Ukraine ever could.” He may have been right.

Winters in Ukraine start wet and cold then get colder and drier. Eastern Ukraine still is in the wet-cold phase—and it’s brutal. Deep mud mires armored vehicles. Daytime temperatures hover around freezing, while nighttime temperates dip closer to zero degrees Fahrenheit.

With preparation, sound leadership and reliable logistics, the conditions are survivable. Soldiers bundle up, sleep in roofed, heated trenches with floors, frequently change their wet socks and eat twice as much as they would on warm days. When they get sick, they evacuate to the rear for rest.

The problem, for the Russian army, is that more and more of its troops are untrained draftees. Officers aren’t leading from the front. And Russian logistics are strained by nonstop Ukrainian bombardment. Starving draftees with no gloves or good boots are huddling in shallow, unheated trenches while their officers squat in abandoned houses potentially miles away, unaware or uncaring as their soldiers succumb to the elements.

When you’re wet, hungry and exposed to the nighttime cold, it doesn’t take long for hypothermia to set in. One bad night is enough. Even moderate hypothermia can result in confusion, decreased reflexes and loss of motor skills.

Which explains the drone massacre that’s been playing out lately over contested eastern towns such as Svatove, Pavlivka and Bakhmut. Hypothermic Russian troops aren’t even trying to flee when Ukraine’s bomb-armed quadcopter drones buzz overhead. The soldiers barely flinch when a bomb explodes in their fighting position.

Suicides evidently are on the rise. One especially gut-wrenching video depicts a Russian combatant in scrape outside Bakhmut trying to shoot himself in the chest as a Ukrainian drone watches from directly overhead. The Russian’s ungloved right hand is blue with cold, and he struggles to pull the trigger.

The video feed cuts. When we see the Russian again, he apparently has succeeded in killing himself. He doesn’t move when the drone’s bomb explodes beside him.

It’s hard to say for sure how many Russians have died of the cold. But it’s worth noting that just one Russian marine unit, the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade, reportedly lost as many as 500 killed and 400 wounded in just the last three months fighting around Pavlivka. That’s potentially half the brigade’s original strength.

A nearly one-to-one killed-to-wounded ratio—one to three is normal—speaks to the collapse of Rusisan leadership ... and to the cold. Wounded troops, lying exposed to the elements, are dying before anyone bothers to rescue them.

Expect many, many more Russians to freeze to death as the weather gets worse. “Temperatures are forecasted to drop throughout Ukraine over the next week,” the Institute for the Study of War in Washington, D.C. noted on Saturday.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidaxe/2022/11/27/russian-soldiers-are-freezing-to-death-in-eastern-ukraine/?sh=dad7e2042541
May be this is not entirely false. Soldiers will definitely freeze to death on both sides. This is a war. Troops will be stranded or Trapped. The cold will kill soldiers, but not significantly.

The Russians and the Ukrainians are not from the middle east where the temperature is high. Some Russian troops are from the artic (Siberia). The current temperature in Ukraine is child's play compare to the temperature in some part of Russia.

The idea that Russia send thousands of troops to Ukraine to freeze and die is false. In fact if as little as 5% of the Russian troops freeze to death in Ukraine. There will be consequences for the leadership in Russia.

Favorite lie of Western media. Despite your sanctions, this year Russia recieved:
T-90M
A batch of the dreaded TOS-1A
Malka guns
3 Su-35
4 Su-57
Innumerable lancets and cubes.
As for your claims about nepotism, I think you ought to be more knowledged before parroting Kiev propaganda. Currently as we speak, spokesperson of Russian army is a moldovan. All the people's militias of DONBASS have been incoporated into the Russian army with equal salaries with their Russian counter parts. Razman kadyrov is now a colonel General so abeg park.
Russia has also launched several military satellites this year after sanctions were placed to stop Russia from getting micro chips. They are also producing new missiles and new fighter jets (Su-30SM2). Analysts all over the world are now convinced that Russian chip industry is now capable of producing it own advanced chips.

Russian troops are well equipped. For evidence, kindly watch the storming of the Hosmotel airport in Ukraine. Likewise the Russian troops that were used to invade other part of Kiev. The events were live streamed. The Russian soldiers were equipped with everything necessary (communication systems, small drones e.t.c).

The Chenchens and the Wagner fighters are also well equipped. You can check the videos online. The DPR and LPR militias are not equipped as those mentioned above except their special forces. So most times people mistake the DPR and LPR militias for regular Russian soldiers. Regular Russian soldiers don't use AK-47.

Russia has a very big military industry. They produce different kind of weapons. It is unsustainable to buy everything you produce. Most of the time, they advertise to gain customers. If they are able to get a good export deal. They can then supply their military the weapon using the profit made from the deal.
Foreign AffairsRe: The Extent To Which NATO Can Go! by olugabbie(m): 6:40pm On Nov 19, 2022
pansophist:
True again, but me think in the blackest of NATO's sheep, it's not France that takes the place, but Turkey.

Turkey is the only NATO member that has an independent foreign policy, the only one that refuses to sanction Russia, and the only one that calls for dialogue and negotiation.

Turkey is also the reason why Sweden and Finland have not joined NATO yet, because it keeps vetoing their bid. Turkey also buys weapons from Russia, and produces it's own defense equipments.

And would you blame Turkey? Turkey is the oldest country that has put an application to join the EU, but it keep getting refused for flimsy reasons. Croatia joined even while Turkey bid for membership was older.

The EU that preaches freedom for everything can't seems to accept that a majority Muslim country will be part of tht EU. Turkey is only tolerated in NATO due to its strategic location as a transcontinental country.

So yes, Turkey, not France takes the spot.
You are right. But I think it was the coup that occurred in Turkey some years ago that destroyed the good relationship that existed between Turkey and her Western partners.

Erdogan was expecting his Western partners to condemn the coup and stand with him. But he was abandoned. The US even refused to extradite the master-mind (suspect) of the coup that live in US. Turkey was forced to look inward after the disappointment.

Secondly some countries like Turkey, Israel, Hungary, Croatia e.t.c don't see Russia as a threat. They don't see Russia as an aggressor. They believe Russia is backed to the corner by the West. Even though they can not support Russia so as not to fume the US.
Foreign AffairsRe: The Extent To Which NATO Can Go! by olugabbie(m): 5:55pm On Nov 19, 2022
pansophist:
You are right, but many of the nato operations globally are unilateral in nature, meaning that the US decides and the rest follows. Why change in the case of Russia? also, the uniformity of sanctions against Russia is all US-led, these countries don't have independent foreign policies, even though they are independent states.
NATO has a lots of members. But most of them are dependent on the US for security. It is only France and may be UK that are independent. Even UK still depend on the US in some areas. France does not buy weapon from the US. She builds her own weapon.

So the US has great influence on most of the NATO members. But there is a limit to the extent the US can push them. The threat of a Nuclear war will break the alliance.
