That's surprising but today isn't marked a holiday. Any reason given & if you don't mind, when were you asked to check back?
yes I was so surprised, the security man said they are on holiday today and tomorrow that I should come on Wednesday ...I would have picked up my passport on Friday but they sent me mail for pickup in late hour

I am a first time UK visa applicant, I did my biometric enrolment on 15th of August. what amazed me is that the person that did my biometric told me to look up at the camera up and say my name and my date of birth. Is this how they did for everyone?
yes that's what they asked me to do and say your date of birth

No. The tracking you displayed shows that your application has been received by UKVI. You need to exercise patience until a decision is made, typically within 15 days.
thanks so much boss. I thought its not yet summited cos of the red mark
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Olugerm(m): 11:13pm On Aug 03, 2018
Hello bosses, I've been tracking my application but it has not yet summited. Can I fast track it and how can I fast track it?

Do not jeopardize your application by giving unnecessary information.

Now you mention family, is it a family member inviting you or a friend who is sponsoring your trip. Do not give too much information that will come back to bite you.

Make your additional info sheet simple short and straight to the point. Do not add sentimental sentences.

Is someone other than yourself paying for the trip? Explain why without saying too much. ........is sponsoring my trip as a gift to me, etc or whatever is not complicating.

Say what you plan to do in the time of your visit (and use days instead of weeks - they don’t like to see weeks so if you are going for 2 weeks, say 12 days or 14 days instead)... do you plan to visit museums, the London eye, a football fan? The stadium maybe and then return back to your studies and part time job.
thanks boss those are the places my friend taking me to during my visit ....ive submitted my application on Monday pls how can I know it's ready for pick up

Pls boss is it right to tell the eco that I'm getting the family who invite me to the UK a gift family photo frame 12pounds that they going to use that to remember me when I come back to Nigeria
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Olugerm(m): 9:03am On Jul 29, 2018
ekpotek:
UKVI will not ask you any question. The onus is on you to submit documents to show the relationship and your ties to Nigeria.
thank you boss MI. I don't know that they won't ask me any question

While the ECOs like to see a healthy bank balance, they are more concerned seeing a steady inflow/outflow of cash. Do not complicate issues - just submit your statement and only emphasize that you’d like them to see that you have a steady income and your friend has invited you and is offering to cover the entire costs as a give.

Do not over explain the 93 k- just say - see my statement showing a steady inflow/outflow of my part time income.

Good luck
see my brother God bless I really appreciate your support..i will do that hope that explanation cover me for where I suppose to put 0amount which I don't but put 93k ... I'm going for interview on 30th that's Monday next week

Biometric on the 28th July
Collected passport with visa on the 24th July

Visa was stamped on the 17/07/18
are they going to mail me for the interview and biometric

Is the 93k all you have in your account? Or is that what you plan to use toward your trip? If that is all in your account, the ECO would easily wonder why anyone would want to use all the money in their account for a visit.

Is your friend inviting saying to pay for your tickets, if so she would have to show pay slips and bank statements showing good standing and that she can take care of the trip.

But still show your own bank statements if this is the case.

More importantly, know how to create a reasonable balance especially with finances and your ties back in Nigeria.
she has sent me everything, it's just that 93k of a thing, its the money I have in my bank account what can I do cause one person told me to write a cover letter explain myself that it's just for pocket money or what do you think

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Olugerm(m): 4:27am On Jul 24, 2018
Omg I've not gone to the visa application centre to summit but I've printed out the form does that mean the visa is not sure or what can I do pls reply Asap Marylander
enlight me
marylanderr:
Have you already submitted the form? If you put a certain amount there, then it means you are paying for part of the trip which you should clarify on the extra info page.

Otherwise if she is fully sponsoring the trip as a gift, then you need to put 0.

Good luck
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Olugerm(m): 6:04am On Jul 23, 2018
Thank you so much God bless... Have already filled the form print out the application but the area you said I should put 0 in how much does the trip cost to me I put a certain amount there hope that will not implicate me. I put 93k as what I have in bank..she sent invitation already, payslip, hotel reservation doc, but no sponsoring financial letter I will asked her to do that for me today
marylanderr:
Get an invitation letter from your friend, also a financial sponsorship letter explaining why she is sponsoring your trip. Is it a gift from her to you? Let her mention it there.

From your side, get a general letter from your school identifying you as a currently registered student (do not have the letter addressed to the embassy. Let it be a general TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN) Also get a employment status letter and possibly a leave letter which would be best to correspond with holiday from school (you don’t want to say you are going when in session and seem you have no ties to you edu)

Lastly, submit pay slips, bank statements even though your friend is sponsoring the trip. If your pay is not much (point out that you only work part time to start gaining experience so they see the prospect) focus on being a student and how much this means to you.

Explain your ties - do you have an aged mother or do you help manage your parents’ small business. Explain family ties.

When filling the form. Write 0 on the part that says what is the cost to you personally on this trip (or something like that)

Good luck. Hope all of this helps. I don’t check Naira land often. So the gurus can follow up from here.

OmoBendel24:
I once in a blue moon sound the way I will sound below, I feel this is an avoidable trouble much as I believe it is best to be truthful in one's application.

The passport used in 2006 definitely couldn't have been the e-passport. So, if he uses the old passport and agrees to have had a previous passport and can't remember details, what happens? I still don't think he should talk of the age difference stuff sha, I can't clearly see the trouble this portends for him now if he doesn't talk of it expressly in this application. He should be silent on it instead of running himself into unnecessary wahala.... This isn't a question asked that you are now denying, if it wasn't asked, this type should be allowed to be. If the need arises to be asked, they will sure ask!
