Perhaps if you keyed into it, non-oil revenue could be 4.0001% New Rice Mills are being set up but fewer people are going into rice farming. The reason for the initial failure of Dangote Tomoto factory was that there wasn't enough locally farmed tomato to feed the 1200 tons per day processing plant. It is PEOPLE that make a country great, not Government.
God bless you for this.

Infact what that statistics is saying is misinforming people. They actually meant 4% of Forex and not GDP. There are many things we don't export in the country which we consume locally and there is nothing wrong with that. The only thing is that we just need to increase our production and export more.
Non - oil stuff contributes like 88%/90% to our GDP.

Thanks for your reply.

I did appreciate some points you made but noticed a fundamental contradiction when you mentioned rice.

Nigeria has no comparative advantage in rice production. Only 3 countries have that comparative advantage and they are Thailand, Vietnam and India hss they have large acreages of the best land for rice production.

Nigeria should focus resources on goods it has comparative advantage in. Shea butter has the ability of generating up $2bn in export. That alone can cover the amount expended on rice imports if the duty on it was low.

Countries do best when they focus resoitces in areas they have comparative advantage. Opening the borders to trade will compel the country to do just that as companies will be run out of business if they did otherwise
Nigeria does not have comparative advantage to produce rice abi? Yet we are the leading rice producer in Africa now. Sir you are not correct. See your economic theory is different from reality on ground Sir. Nigeria has land, has labour and so on and you are saying we can't. So the whole world should depend on the three countries alone?
Even if we can't export our rice and we consume it alone within the country its better than importing. We have the potential and that's why we overtook Egypt in the production of rice. Thank God the administration has again ban textile... sooner we will the outcome.
You said Buhari pegged naira against dollar... why are you against him on this? So he shud not and then get into trouble. GEJ left around $27b or so before leaving and now our forex has grown to over $40b... so what are you saying?

That statistics up there is not accurate totally. So unemployment rate is 6% in 2014 abi?
We know non oil revenue give about 4% to forex but not GDP. That statistics is given a wrong info. They shouldn't put GDP with it. It should be forex. Oil contributes 10%/12% to our GDP and the rest is about 90%/88%.

Nigeria is not doing well economically simply because of these three things.

1. Electricity
2. Refinery
3. Insecurity

Fix these three and watch the country boom. If we have electricity 247, our business will boom. If we no longer import refined oil again, it will help our economy. And fixing insecurity caps it all. Good and secure environment to do business.
Nigeria has every potential to lead Africa and the world if we can change our mindset and install a good leader.

Congratulations to Councillor Obazie.
Pls she is a Nigerian and let's stop this Igbo this, Yoruba this. It doesn't make sense. Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa are all Nigerians. The glory and progress of Nigeria as a Country lies in her diversity. Please let's appreciate our ethnic diversity and not use it to form superiority here. No tribe is superior. Each tribe is good in what she does best. And when best from Igbo, best from Yoruba, best from Hausa and best from other tribes come together, Nigeria becomes lit up and great. We should be more concerned about Nigeria. We to ensure that we lead Africa and the world.
God bless Nigeria.

HigherEd:
And what do you want people to do with GoT lol.
I have stated my point on the first page of this thread as regard what Christians can do in the film industry.

What I'm against is someone somewhere using the hell card to blackmail people to hell fire when he himself is not perfect. It's not deeds that gives man eternal life its the grace of Jesus. And while a Man's spirit is redeemed at salvation. His soul is unrenewed. The process of transforming one's mind is a gradual encounter with study of the word of God...

That a man who gave his life today went to beer parlour to drink guineas to stupor is not good. But believe me, he has not lost his salvation. Going there as a preacher and shouting that he would go to hell for drinking guiness is a stupid thing to do.
Rather tell him the disadvantage and let the Holy spirit do the rest.

This is the last I'm saying on this thread!
Sir you have to check your understanding of Christianity most especially the doctrine of Salvation. So you are telling us our deeds do not give us eternal life. So you mean a Christian can fornicate and still make heaven in that state. See as a Christian after being saved you are suppose to live a holy life. You are suppose to bear all the 9 fruits of the Spirit. The Bible says we should let men see our good works. So you can't separate the grace of God from our deeds. Both are determinants. You can't be in sin and expect the grace of God to abound. Today many Christians have reduced the grace of God to a license to commit sin.

Then also you said that its our spirit that is renewed at salvation. Which spirit? This is what we get when we neglect the Bible to follow Grammar Pastors preaching academics and philosophies on pulpit. Sir its our Soul that gets saved at Salvation.
The word of God renews it to grow in the understanding and knowledge of God. This is becos your soul is your seat of personality. It was the soul that got corrupted in the garden of Eden. Not the Spirit. What happened to the spirit was that it was stripped of its role to instruct the soul. Since the soul fell, the flesh took over and the spirit became passive. At salvation the soul is rescued and saved and the Spirit becomes alive back and take its rightful position to instruct the Soul. because now the soul can listen to the Spirit. There is union of our spirit with the spirit of God which makes instructing the soul possible. Sir study your Bible very well.

And based on the subject matter. You have to be real Sir and call a spade a spade. The Bible says we should desist from anything that has the appearance of evil. Not evil oooo but has the appearance of evil. So why are you patting the issue. What you watch can lead you to hell fire because your eyes is the door to your mind. You will think about what you have seen and contradict Philippians 4:8.
And besides tell me why should a Christian watch a film like GOT. What is that Christian looking for? Christianity is deeper than what many of us are practicing today. Many of us are just scratching the surface. The disciples were called Christians at Antioch not because of anything but because of the similitude between their life style and that of Christ. Can Jesus watch GOT? Our life should be based on how Jesus lived when He was on earth and how He would live if He were to be on earth in this present time. Every Christian should be conscious and careful. You can't watch the story line of a film without watching the acts, the sex, the nudity etc. Its a subtle way the devil has been using against us. Like Joseph... flee. Dont try it. God will help us. The best is to be selective and always browse about a film to get the information about the film. If the film will subtract from you just desist. Finish. Like the Empire you said you quit... that's how a Christian lives. So please you are influential on this platform and when your submission begins to be accepted by an atheist as something good to the extent they see you as someone who has changed now.. then know that little little compromise is setting in.
God bless you.

I'm sorry to say but you are still not saying anything sensible.

My points

1)The violence narrated in the book Songs Of Ice and Fire(which was filmed as GoT) is smaller to the violence narrated in the Bible.

2) The sexual activities narrated in GoT is inferior to the sexual immorality narrated by the bible. In GoT a brother and Sister had sex which was the OP's point. But in the bible it was narrated of how two sisters raped their father.

So if GoT and Old Testament narrate both alarming scenes then where is the issue with GoT?

The issue with GoT comes from the explicitness of these scenes when it was converted into a film. Sometimes they showed what was more than necessary. You could easily decide to fastforward those scenes. Simple!

3) Are those sex Scenes good for a Christian? No, they aren't, I stated that earlier. And if you choose to avoid the movie for that reason then I respect your choice.
Sir you don't have to drag the Bible, the Holy Word of God into this. The Bible is a Sacred book and its writings was inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is not fictitious like other books. The events in it are real. Please as a Christian we need to understand the Bible with its motive. What you are spewing here shows lack of understanding. All that is written in the Bible has a purpose behind it. The war in the Old testament is different from the war fictitious stories you read in books and watch. You have to understand the difference. God brought judgement against many nations through the war the Israelites had with them. Many people got killed in the Bible because of disobedience and so on. What are you saying? Why are you comparing something authored by God himself with the works of man. Please just stop this. The Bible is on its lane and you cant drag it into what is not. You talked about the sex case in the Bible. The question I want to ask you is that, do you study the Bible without getting to its motive or what. The Bible is not a story book or a history book. Its the word of God to reprove, correct and to instruct. The area you are quoting was documented to tell us what later happened to lot later. Lot has always being on the wrong side of God. He could have been destroyed at Sodom and Gomorrah where he chose as a result of covetousness. It also made us to know how the Moab nation came into being. Which in the future was to be a nation that is related to Israel. Infact I am not too happy seeing all these you wrote here. You are a Christian and you comparing the down fall of some men in the Bible with fictitious stories that human mind inspired plus the devil inspired.

God will help us o.

Ronaldo Versus Messi

My Opinion

#Ronaldo is a product of Hardwork while Messi is a product of Talent

#Ronaldo has many ways to score a goal while Messi's limited ways of scoring often come with impossible goals

#Ronaldo has more shooting power than Messi while Messi can dribble more than Ronaldo.

#Ronaldo can survive with a weak team if the weak team has a good number 3 while Messi can survive with a weak team if the team has a good number 9.

#Ronaldo can easily adjust and adapt to many patterns of football while Messi does not easily adjust and adapt but can try to change the pattern to suit his own.

#Messi can create more chances than Ronaldo while Ronaldo can convert more chances than Messi

#Ronaldo is simple with football and predictable while Messi is complex and unpredictable with football

#Ronaldo plays football as a Sport while Messi plays football as a Game

#Ronaldo understands football as a relay race while Messi understands football as a fight.

In all the two are good in what they do differently.

The duo are the best in the World.

Thanks.

Today marks the 7th anniversary of Glo Mobile Ghana’s launch. On this day April 29, 2012 the first commercial call was made on Glo network in Ghana. Today also marks the 66th birthday of the Founder and Chairman of Globacom, Dr Mike Adeniyi Adenuga Jr. (GCON; CSG). We wish the Guru a very happy birthday. May God bless and give him long life

Glo in Nigeria has really made things easy for us with great achievements in Telecom.

MTN sold their SIM cards as high as 27K when they came.

MTN was doing per minute billing... making it look like per second billing is not possible when they came

Glo came, destroyed that SIM high price jinx and gave us cheap SIM cards.

Glo came, destroyed the per minute billing string and gave us per second billing

Glo rivaled MTN and forced them to adjust at the end of the day.

Thank God for Glo and happy birthday to the Guru Adenuga the second richest black man on earth.

Thanks.

How about planning a whole new city with skyscraper, then we can have something like Johannesburg, Dubai, New York in every major cities in Nigeria

Lagos is already in the rank of Johannesburg... What Lagos needs now is to compete and beat Dubai and Seoul. And with Eko Atlantic, Orange Island, Diamond Island, Greenfield Island etc Lagos will get there

Christianity EtcRe: Daddy Freeze Hails Pastor Abel Damina For Saying Women Can Wear Trousers by Olumyco(m): 6:02pm On Apr 09, 2019
First of all, all the historical documents of trouser are not coherent. No one can actually say this is how it originated. There are many others infact there are documents who link that of women wearing trouser in US to women liberation issue. There are historical documents where it is stated that trousers were worn by men until women started wearing it.
So in all the only thing I can deduce from all these is that trouser was designed with the intention of producing a clothe that suits hardwork, smart work and warfare. And when you look at that, you will agree with me that Men are the ones doing these. Hardly would you see ladies doing hard/smart work then. Not even going to battle except for very few. So the intention that brought trouser into limelight were actually things that Men are known for.

Now considering reasons why we wear clothes. We wear clothes just for three reasons.
1. To cover unclothedness
2. To protect our body
3. To look good (fashion)

Now lets look at these three things and relate it to a female wearing trousers.

Case1
A lady who puts on trouser which covers her unclothedness, protects her body and also looks good on her is actually a professional lady who is into engineering works or a lady soldier or a lady sweeping on the highway or any profession that demands hardwork or smartwork or warfare/force. One thing with this type of dressing is that the woman is not the one who will even get the trouser, the profession/company/organisation itself would make it available. The trouser is usually made such that it covers, protects and looks good. Its always free and not tight and readily match the profession intended. So its not seductive.

Case2
A lady who puts on trouser which does not cover her unclothedness but may protects her to an extent and looks good is actually our today's ladies who wear all those trousers that are tight and revealing. It is actually not for any purpose but to look fashionable because today's fashion is all about unclothedness. How much body parts and curves and co you can reveal determines how fashionable you are.

So we all can see that there is nothing like modesty in wearing a trouser if you are not into any profession....

Let's be practical, have you guys seen a trouser clothing for women that is not tight? No!
All fashionable women trousers are tight. Let's not be hypocritical about this. It is wrong for a lady to wear trouser because it reveals an area that is suggestive. The way ladies are created is different from men. That is why skirt matches a lady's design more than trouser.

In NYSC ladies are given trousers because of the design of NYSC programme which includes force/military training and these trousers are designed to match the training...so it is usually free but our ladies today go to slim fit the trouser to be very tight because they want to reveal their curves to you and seduce you. So what are we saying?
Can a lady wear a trouser that is not tight? People will think such a lady has HIV or a kind of disease.

In Christianity motive/intent/purpose is very important. So tell me the motive or intent or purpose behind why a Christian lady will put on trouser?
Having considered all that is above, our answer to this question solves the issue.

Modesty is being able to dress to cover your unclothedness and at thesame time look good.

1 Timothy 2:9 (KJV) In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
