The Director-General of the Budget Office, Ben Akabueze, has stated that about 428 government agencies will find it difficult to pay the salaries of their workers by the end of November.

Akabueze, who raised the alarm when he appeared before Senate Committee on Public Account today November 10, blamed the development on the new minimum wage that was implemented among federal workers in January this year. He said since the introduction of the new minimum wage, most of the agencies have been struggling to pay the salaries of their workers in the last 10 months.

He, however, assured the committee that government will dip its hand into the service-wide vote to cater for the shortfall in the salaries of the affected workers in the said parastatals
.

“428 agencies will not be able to pay salary by the end of November. We will have to take from service wide vote to take care of the short fall in workers salaries.” Akabueze said
The bolded says the government itself will source for funds elsewhere and pay for the months of shortfall.

Your assertion is very wrong. I studied Biochemistry, graduated officially in 2010, started my first job 2011, switched to NAFDAC in 2012. Left NAFDAC 2017 to pursue my Phd degree in Biotechnology. Many of my classmates are gainfully employed. Don’t limit others by your own limited view. Whatever you study in school, be the best in it.. then know you worth. The grace of God will cover the rest.
So much sense in your post. The grace factor can never be overemphasized. But why leave NAFDAC? U couldn't merge it with ur program I guess?

Congratulations sir! cool Don't forget to do giveaway for us. cheesy

Sir I have a question?
How many of your colleagues in school then have a biochemistry job now?
Here sir, and so many others of my Biochem coursemates either lecturing, working as Quality Assurance heads in private companies or in federal agencies. All these things are in GOD'S hands.

""Jambites are found of going to school to study courses with fancy names but many of these courses won't get you a job or a well paid job after graduation."' You have said my mind. I have never seen someone who studied Biochemistry or Microbiology getting full employment. They usually end up as unqualified Teachers in private schools.
One exception to your little rule is here sir, and so many others of my Biochem coursemates either lecturing, working as Quality Assurance heads in private companies or in federal agencies. For me, the GOD factor makes the whole difference.

According to this Link Nigeria's unemployment rate is 27.1 percent while Nigeria's under-employment rate is 28.6 percent. That is, more than 50 percent of Nigerians are either completely unemployed or grossly underemployed (they get paid little for doing so much).

If you are Nigerian student hoping to further in any tertiary institution of your choice, do not study a course just because you like it.

The only reason why you should study any course should be because of its employability rate. Ask yourself, if I study Biochemistry for example, will I get a job. How many people in the past few years have gotten a biochemistry job?

Jambites are found of going to school to study courses with fancy names but many of these courses won't get you a job or a well paid job after graduation.

Another mistake Jambites make is rushing for Medicine, Law, Accountancy and other courses in their leagues. Why would apply for medicine when you know you'll probably never meet up with the cut of mark? Let's be candid, a high percentage of Nigerian student are average (including myself). It will be absolute foolishness (for a lack of better word) if an average student keep wasting their precious years in search of admission into law.

There are other non-celebrated courses out there that'll fetch you money, Computer Science, Music, Food and Nutrition amongst others fall into this category.

Gone are the days when a certificate guarantees a job. These days what guarantee you a job as a graduate (or anybody else) is connection, your money or your skill.

Most people don't have money to buy a job, most are not connected but most people can have a skill that'll make them financially independent and that is what you as a student should leverage on before becoming a graduate.

Learn a skill that'll fetch you money.

Regards,
A concerned unemployed graduate.
Yes, I studied Biochemistry and I got a federal job with it. Infact sef, to GOD'S glory I received my promotion letter last week.

bro no vex oo... Does it mean they want to add something light to their salaries, i don't understand.
Why I go vex na?! Some agencies weren't paid for September, it affect my agency in october, and the reason is a shortfall in the postulated budget for salaries which was done without putting the consequential minimum wage adjustment into consideration. Now dem don spend all the money meant for salaries and year never finish. So that's why they're putting hand inside a side purse to pay us. I try for my explanation baa?

OFFICE OF THE HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE OF THE FEDERATION

2nd of November, 2020

PRESS RELEASE

FG EXPLAINS DELAY IN PAYMENT OF OCTOBER SALARY

The Federal Government has given reasons for the delay in the payment of October, 2020 salaries to some civil servants assuring that necessary steps have been taken to resolve the matter.

The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan in a statement issued on Monday, 2nd of November, 2020 explained that the delay is due to the fact that the 2020 budget was passed before the conclusion of negotiation on the new Minimum Wage and its consequential adjustment.

She went further to explain that a lump sum was however provided in the 2020 budget for minimum wage and its consequential adjustment.

Dr. Yemi-Esan also disclosed that a committee made up of representatives of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, the Budget Office and the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation has been set up to determine the shortfalls of Ministries, Extra- Ministerial Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The shortfalls are to be paid from the lump sum already set aside in the budget for the Minimum wage and its consequential adjustment.

The Committee is expected to conclude its work by the end of this week so that salaries can be paid.

While appreciating civil servants for their patience, the Head of Service also informed that she is in touch with the Director General, Budget Office, who assured that salaries will be paid by the end of this week.

The internal memory of this phone is the only thing that made me regret buying it, the storage says 16GB but you'll only end up with 4GB usable which quickly filled up and disturbs you with low phone storage, I had to buy 32GB memory card

my only issue is the 16gb memory... that's too small for the device.
