Being fast is the most important. 15 hrs from Doha is depressing

SpiceQueen01:

Bem-vindo ao Brasil !!
TAAG airline is cheaper and it’s a faster route to Brazil 👍🏼

Thank you for the suggestion. I highly appreciate it. I contacted a Brazilian immigration lawyer, and received their reply. They charge $1250 for visa processing and follow-ups for the child's citizenship and permanent residency of the parents. I suppose it's worth it considering the services they "claim" to be rendering.
Another option is if I can get recommendations to someone who has gone through the entire childbirth and permanent residency process in the past, and is currently residing in Brazil to carry us along with the whole thing. We discuss payment, then I can pursue the visa process myself.

Immigration lawyer in Brazil or UK?

Hi Untamed,

How are you? Do you have an idea of the fee's private obstetrician charges especially Dr Marcelo Santos at the sao luiz star hospital? Thank you for your contribution we are here in brazil.

Why can't you send a message to the doctor and ask directly?
Travel / Re: Turkey Visa Application Delay by oluomoadebayo: 2:46pm On Jul 07
I have never traveled in groups.

As a group I agree but individually is total no for me.As long as one don’t go alone
Travel / Re: Turkey Visa Application Delay by oluomoadebayo: 8:32pm On Jul 05
When it comes to tourism and vacation, no country beats Türkiye in my opinion. One of the fun of it is the difficulty in communication. Make no mistake, there is a reason why Istanbul was the most visited city in 2023.

emperorlaqrin:
Go to another country if you wanna go on tourism. I am not saying turkey is bad but it would only be fun if you go as a group. I repeat don’t go alone. Communication is very difficult
Travel / Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by oluomoadebayo: 11:15pm On Jul 01
Do you care to share the airline you eventually used?

IderadeAratumi:

Very big and protruding tummy. Big as in very big enough to have almost been turned down from boarding but thankfully I dodged a bullet by not flying Qatar (my preferred choice) based on untamedd's previous post. The airline stressed me a little but I was eventually allowed to fly. I am sure if it was Qatar, it would have been a No-No
Travel / Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by oluomoadebayo: 11:58pm On Jun 28
How many weeks are you at the point of traveling??
IderadeAratumi:

Thanks to everyone who took time to answer my questions.

I arrived last week, and everything is going on fine as planned. Although I didn't plan to apply for my PR this time around. I am here alone so I intend to travel back 3 weeks after delivery and for my family and I to return here sometime next year for the PR processing. This trip is just to birth my baby and collect the passport.

Thanks to you all for your insight.

How about the certification of other documents like birth and wedding certificates?

untamedd:

When we do Police character, they usually do the certification with it. I recently had one done at Alagbon and it came with the certification. Paid 70k. I assume it's like that for everyone?
Travel / Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by oluomoadebayo: 11:03am On May 31
How about certification from the Foreign Affairs Commission in Nigeria or just take it to Brazil directly from the police?

untamedd:

You don't need to authenticate them at the Brazilian embassy in Nigeria. You can translate and authenticate your Police Character at the Nigerian embassy here and also apply for consulate letter there. That's all the document you need from Nigeria asides your passport. The other documents are Brazilian docs. There's an NGO that can assist you if you're still having difficulty.

Hello guys, how do I go about my documents? I am already in Brazil, but the documents (birth certificates, marriage certificate and police CC) were not authenticated at the Brazilian embassy, they were only legalised at ministry of foreign affairs. What to do? I am applying for the permanent residency.

Good to know because i read a lot of negative stuffs about them. Qatar would still be my first choice though.

SpiceQueen01:

Yes, I did. The only bad review I’ll give is lack of entertainment on board but you can only worry about that if you’re traveling with kids. But it’s not that bad, because everyone will sleep off eventually .
The layover time is much better now, it’s just 6 hours. Last year when I flew with TAAG we had 19hrs layover at Luanda.
Apart from that, everything else is good.
Travel / Re: Memoirs From Chile by oluomoadebayo: 10:19am On May 30
No matter what you achieved later in your life, the Nigerian passport would remain the most important document and with this altitude, i hope you won't regret this statement. Omo aijebe ri ni jepo sa ya.

tensazangetsu20:

Nigeria is a proper shithole. A country that cannot provide electricity after 50 plus years of independence. I can understand that roads and clean water are probably too difficult and too complex for the Nigerian brain to understand but electricity. Come on. Choking generator fumes and queuing up for fuel in 2024 is only something shihole dwellers do grin grin grin

Are you enjoying your stay in Brazil? Any update for us?

bomsyvic:

I flew taag Angola to Sao Paulo now. Their Coordination is okay. However, when we got to Brazil the police told all the Nigerian guys before me to step aside for further scrutiny after collecting their passports. But, mine was stamped quickly. The lady only asked me where I am heading to.
Travel / Re: Memoirs From Chile by oluomoadebayo: 10:10pm On May 27
Nigeria is not and never a shithole. This is a wrong statement.

tensazangetsu20:

You are very funny. Government websites in Chile are so well detailed and even while employees in the offices don't have enough info to guide you, the information from the government does. What works in that shihole country they call Nigeria. Aren't black people foolish and incompetent world over? Mtscheew

Have you flown with them before becaus ethey have a very bad reviews online?

TAAG Angola is cheaper and without complications even for heavily pregnant women
Travel / Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by oluomoadebayo: 10:14pm On May 17
I think it's difficult to book a trip to Brazil on Turkish Airline now. I thinknthey have issues with Nigerians going to Brazil because you will not find any seat on their website. They are always full.

untamedd:

Not surprised at all, seems like they derive joy in delaying and refusing to board. They refused to board a friend, she had to fly Turkey eventually.
Travel / Re: Memoirs From Chile by oluomoadebayo: 12:39pm On May 10
Goodluck brother. You are an inspiration.

tensazangetsu20:

True. Initial plan was mexico but they didn't respond to any questions when I was sending emails to universities.
Travel / Re: Memoirs From Chile by oluomoadebayo: 12:05pm On May 10
Brazil, Mexico Argentina are better options in my opinion if you are going through childbirth route. Chile passport is a great travel document but passport from other LATAM countries are equally good.

tensazangetsu20:

5 to 6 years from the day you enter the country as a temporary resident is a solid option especially with all the opportunities a Chilean nationality gives. European countries is 10 years. America is more. Only Canada is 3 years if you get permanent residency before hand but we all know what it takes to get one. Besides with a Chilean passport you can get a Spanish passport in 2 years which will not be up to 10 years if you go live in Spain. 5 years is nothing. That's the end of tunubu first tenure and a year or two Into his second. I will rather spend that time and get it cause as man gets older, the responsibilities increases. I don't want to be restricted globally. I know Wetin I don see for Naija with Naija pali grin cheesy

Five to six years is a long commitment if you have a child in the country. Better options outthere.
tensazangetsu20:

Well that's their luck o. I know a few Nigerians here in Chile who hold a Chilean passport and all got it within 5 to 6 years. Another thing is probably travelling outside Chile. Immigration counts when you have been outside for more than 2 weeks. A lot of the Americans and Europeans will be here one week and use the next 4 weeks in Peru, Argentina, Bolivia and co. The more you stay outside on your temporary residency, the longer it takes cause they multiply the time by 2.
Travel / Re: Memoirs From Chile by oluomoadebayo: 9:23am On May 10
No. They are Americans and are doing fine in another country closed by. The woman can renew is temp residence permit again but he chooses not to. There is a girl also on Youtube who married a Chilean that is complaining about bureaucracy over there .Goodluck with your process brother.

tensazangetsu20:

That's a very weird case. Having a child born in Chile gives you permanent residency if you already had a temporary residency before hand. There's probably something they did they didn't tell you. I have met other Nigerians here in Chile that hold a Chilean passport. Also temporary residency is 2 years and can only be renewed once. After that you need to apply for permanent residency or leave the country. The temporary residency is not renewed indefinitely. Your friends didn't tell you the truth. Also, Chiles immigration faced a major overhaul in 2020. Before 2020, Chile had one of the easiest immigration systems. It was one of the few countries you could visit with a visit visa and convert to a work visa in Chile but that doesn't work now.
Travel / Re: Memoirs From Chile by oluomoadebayo: 12:17am On May 06
The passport is great but the bureaucracy there is frustrating. I have a friend who lived there for 7 years, got his child there and they still do not give his wife the permanent residency. The wife was told to renew her yearly card which the cost is unbearable to the family anymore. The guy relocated to another nearby country and he has the passport in few years of living in the new country. I wish you luck and reading your thread makes me proud as a Nigeria.

tensazangetsu20:

Definitely lol. The Chilean passport is the goal and I am going to get it by the grace of God
