I was in my room this morning, ruminating about my birthday which falls today 16th September, but suddenly I heard shouting "Fire! Fire!! Fire!!!" "Ina! Ina!! Ina!!!" "E wo se wa, e bo mi wa!!! ( Look for soap, bring water!!!) I thought it was one of those pranks the children in the neighbourhood usually played whenever they've filled their tummies with food and jumping up and down with their disturbing noises. But when the noise was quite persistent, I jumped up from where I was, and decided to see what was happening . But Lo and Behold, thick smoke was emanting from the children department and container built store of the Christ Embassy Church and crowd had already gathered outside on the road, directly in front of the church, two blocks away my house. People were running in maze drawing water from everywhere, from well, tap even from the on-going construction open drainage and mixing with detergent of different types and pouring into the burning fire and almost extending to the main church building and other closer buildings. If not for the prompt intervention of youths on the street and neighbours around the church would have completely raze down by the fire. The Lagos State Fire Services where contacted and they promised to get there asap, but we've already put out the fire after about an half - hour later upon their arrival. The cause of the fire could not be ascertain, but it was gathered that the church frequently hold vigil for God's known sake, and always on generator from dusk till dawn. Probably, a faulty electrical wire must have caused the incident. But it wasn't noticed after the generator was switched off.

Politely diplomatic- “Oh this dress will look lovely on you..say that you will not buy it plsss… I want it” Awww…how nicely they make you believe that! They are known for their straight and convincing approach in life. 2. Open minded and reasonable- No, everything is not fair in love and war! September borns can be really cool in difficult situations. Where people struggle between their inherited believes and today’s practicality, these people do what’s right and un-manipulative. They can eat anything Their body and metabolism are both well equipped to deal with all types of food. Hence they are very adaptable to the place they travel. Even if they don’t get to eat, they can survive on cups of Chai for the whole day at a stretch… Woah! 9. September borns are the happiest when they are in a relationship Not just love, but any kind of relationships makes them go alive… they cannot survive alone if lost in an Island. Someone has to be there or else they will go bananas and loose the hope to live! Don’t leave them EVER. 10. Love to travel! Their passion, their goal, their diaries are filled with travel stories, or the places they wish to travel but can’t due to some reasons. Don’t lose hope buddy! You have your whole life to earn and then have fun! 11. They loose themselves in books, they find themselves there too! Reading is one of the few things they are interested in. It’s not uncommon to see a September born with a book or Kindle in hand as they watche television, for example. Also, don’t be surprised to find some learning books with them, since they prefer to be perfect in everything they do… if you know what I mean! Wishing myself a prosperous year filled with God's mercy, long life. God's favour shall locate me in all endeavour. Am a LEGEND!

Flood Kills 60-Year-Old Man In Osun TORRENTIAL rain, which has lasted more than two days in Osun on Tuesday claimed its first victim as a 60-year-old man lost his life after being trapped by flood. The victim, simply identified as Elder Olabode, was said to have been trapped in his car by flood on his way back home on Tuesday evening, but his lifeless body was recovered on Wednesday at the bank of River Okooko in Oke Oniti area of Osogbo. Sources informed Tribune Online that some Hausa men, who were contracted by his family were able to retrieve his body after an intense search, which lasted several hours, just as his corpse was deposited at the morgue of Osun State General Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo. According to eyewitnesses, the 60-year-old Olabode was returning home in his car when he ran into flood and was advised to go back, but he refused. One of the eyewitnesses, Mr Thomas Onaolapo, said “we all warned him to go back but he didn’t listen. After moving for few minutes, the intensity of the flood forced open the booth of his car and the flood trapped him.” “Two people standing nearby made attempt to rescue him and one of them nearly got drowned in the process and we all became powerless. So there was nothing we could do again to save him,” he remarked. However, during a condolence visit to the family of Olabode, the state commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Ayodele Philips, implored residents to avoid flood prone areas, with a view to avoid being trapped. Our correspondent, who monitored the effect of the flood, observed that areas terribly affected by the ravaging flood in Osogbo include Testing Ground, Fiwasaye and Rasco, where roads were impassable. Many residents of the affected areas have vacated their residences, while goods and properties estimated at millions of naira were destroyed by flood. tribuneonline.org

Villagers Reject Woman With Leg Tumour, Think She Is Bewitched Eunice Anyango, from Eshirumbwe village in Kenya, is crying for help as her own community have turned their back on her after she developed a huge tumour on her leg. Eunice Anyango, from Eshirumbwe vile in western Kenya developed the growth in 1992 The woman, aged 35, has accidentally tripped on a stick which injuried her tibia bone in 1992. Eunice didn’t take it seriously and refused to go to hospital, since then the tumour has started to grow rapidly and one day reached an unbelievable size. Her superstitious neighbours and the village chief are now keeping away from Anyango, her blind mother and her 16-year-old son as they are convinced that their family is bewitched. The 35-year-old mother did not think the fall was serious and did not go to hospital Mabel Akiso, one of the villagers, told Kenyan newspaper: “The chief and her assistant know about the condition of this family, but they have never done anything about it. Most people in the community believe the family are bewitched.” Eunice’s son Odongo even has to skip school to look after his mother and grandmother; sometimes compassionate members of the local church drop in to visit her. Eunice has had minor surgery and tetanus injections to somehow treat the growth but it was a temporary measure, now the woman needs more help and hopes to raise some money to remove a gigantic tumour on her leg. Opinion: How Did ‘We’ Get It ‘Wrong’ With Buhari? (I was reading through this piece and felt it has to be shared...) Editor’s note: With the continued increase in prices of goods and services across Nigeria and other challenges facing the country the main focus of many Nigerians is survival. As other months of this economic environment will be a harsh road the people continue blaming the government of President Muhammadu Buhari for this hardship. Gege who share his views through Medium in this piece advised Nigerians to delve into the personalities of candidates in the next presidential election in 2019. Buhari was elected president in 2015 by a broad coalition of interests. Capitalists, socialists, unitarists and regionalists all united to ensure that he won the elections. By all accounts, it appears that the regionalists and capitalists are unhappy with his performance to date. They seem to imply that he deceived them either actively or passively by playing along with their plans. They claim they were led to believe that he would place the private sector at the heart of his governance strategy but his actions to date have been a betrayal of that As 2019 approaches, how can the ‘free marketers’ ensure that they won’t be deceived by another ‘socialist’ masquerading as a capitalist? I think the answer to the question requires us to apply ourselves more rigorously to the manner in which we select candidates. In the US and UK, the candidates present manifestos but there is also an implicit understanding that elections go beyond the manifesto. A critical analysis of the candidates’ personality must also take place. Their reasoning is simple. Circumstances change so it possible that a manifesto becomes redundant but what won’t change is the person who is in charge of government. For example, a manifesto might have promised that Sunday Oliseh would be sacked as Nigeria’s coach but the promise would be redundant because he resigned. That is why analysts in advanced democracies go beyond manifesto promises. They seek to understand a candidate’s ideology, his decision making processes and his character. They are the things that will determine how a he reacts to unforeseen events when he gets into office. For example, David Cameron is a capitalist by ideology and Jeremy Corbyn is a socialist by ideology. So it’s logical to assume that if confronted with the fuel subsidy problem, Cameron would have opted to remove the subsidy whilst Corbyn would have insisted on retaining them. In the Nigerian case, these issues are more critical because the President is so powerful that no godfather can control him. Therefore once he moves into Aso Rock, his decisions will be a reflection of his core principles. This is why it was no surprise that Buhari balked at the decision to float the naira. It went against his core principle, socialism. So in 2019, it will not be enough to say, Elrufai promised X or Atiku promised Y. We must ask ourselves, what would Elrufai or Atiku instinctively do when confronted with a crisis? Are they democrats by instinct? Are they diplomats by instinct? Are they capitalists by instinct? Are they compassionate by instinct? In summary, I think the 2015 error was the failure of capitalists to consider the personality and ideology of Buhari before they chose to support him. It will never be enough to read and analyse manifestos. We must always delve into the personalities of candidates and understand the core of their ideologies and characters. 5 Things Bible Teaches Husbands To Give To Their Wives. psychologies and coaches give plenty of advice on marriage, but God is the Author of this institution. He is the One, who knows exactly how husbands should treat their wives. Here what He says about it in the Bible. That’s not the human opinion, but the higher decree from the Lord and we find them in the Scriptures. 1. Esteem Wait, we thought wives should respect their husbands! Yes, they should, but it has to be mutual. Here is what the Word of God says: “Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect…” (1 Peter 3:7) God created men and women in His own likeness and image. This means He is in us and His image is worthy to be honored and respected! It also means that husbands, who put down or even beat their wives, show huge disrespect for their Creator. 2. Tenderness “Do not be harsh with your wife.” (Colossians 3:19) It means men should not use harsh words or bad language, when they talk to their wives. They should not be overloading those with work and be attentive to their needs. God is her father. You are married to the daughter of the King of Kings. Do you think He would be pleased, if you abuse or hurt her? Surely, men have the power to treat women as they wish, but they are to answer before God for it. 3. Honour “Honour your marriage; keep it pure by remaining true to your wife in every way.” (Hebrews 13:4) Do not only expect to be honoured by your wife, but give it back to her. Remember, you reap what you sow! 4. Loyalty “Do not be captivated by other women” (Proverbs 5:20) God created one woman for one man. That’s His plan. If you wish to please the Lord, stick with it. That does not involve only physical intimacy. You should stay focused on your wife, catering to her emotional, financial and other needs. Do not waste yourself on other ladies. 5. Admiration “Call your wife ‘blessed’ and praise her.” (Proverbs 31: 28-29) Praise and good words build up a happy marriage. Praise her for what she does for you, do not take it for granted. God knows what is good for you. If you follow His tips for marriage, it is bound to be happy and successful. Source: naij.com

A man in Ibadan called his son in South Africa this Wednesday and said "I hate to ruin your day but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing. Forty-five years of misery is enough". "Dad, what are you talking about?" the son screamed. "We can't stand the sight of each other any longer", the father said. "We're sick of each other and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in USA and tell her". Frantically, the son called his sister, who explodes on the phone, "Like hell they're getting divorced" she shouts, "I'll take care of this". She calls home immediately and screams at her father, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing. DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up. The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. "Sebi I told you. It's done! They are coming home for Sallah. So relax! Happy Eid IL Fitrii all Muslims faithful. |

Fayose Sayss He Is The Best Governor of Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose says he is the best Ekiti has ever had since the creation of the state. Governor Ayo Fayose declared himself as the best performing governor of the state since its creation in 1996. The governor, who spoke yesterday through his chief press secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, said out of 11 governors and administrators who had governed the state, none has measured up to his performance. Fayose said: “Ekiti was created 20 years ago. It is the only one among the states created at the same time that is yet to have either airport or airstrip. Still, the opposition does not see this as a minus for the state. I don’t know how to play politics with development of the state. To me, Ekiti first. The dirty politics here is responsible for Ekiti having almost 11 governors as opposed to Ebonyi with four since 1996. During my first tenure, the opposition said there was no need to dualise roads in the state capital, everybody is enjoying it today.” Reeling out his laudable achievements, he added: “My priority is to leave Ekiti better than how I met it. What I did during my first tenure are those visible things in the state today. I may be tough, I may be controversial, but all these are catalysts to my performance. I built the first governor’s office, dualised roads in the state capital, constructed roads in all nooks and crannies of the state, put on ground many structures for use of the state. I always scored the first position in development of the state.” He, therefore, described those criticizing his style of governance as detractors. “I have transformed the palace of Ewi. There can’t be two palaces. I am building the first flyover. There cannot be need for another flyover in the next 30 years. I am building new king’s market (Oja Oba). There can’t be two king’s market. Dualisation of roads is ongoing in the local government headquarters. My detractors know what I am made off and are disturbed by my landmarks. And that is why they will always concoct lies to distract me or slow me down. I am not a rookie, I am a second term governor, very experienced and learned in grassroots politics. If it is not photocromic, it is soldier used to rig. If it is not Dasuki money today, perhaps tomorrow they will fabricate many unimaginable lies. They said building flyover is a waste, how many vehicles ply Ekiti roads. Similarly, they criticised my plan to build airport for Ekiti to the extent of poisoning the minds of the land owners against our good intention,” he lamented. Fayose berated his immediate predecessor, Kayode Fayemi, for his low performance, adding that he left the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBED) worse than he met it and that Fayemi had only three achievements to his credit. The Sun reports that he made these submissions preparatory to the 20th anniversary of the state coming up on October 1. Rating the performance of the administration, the governor said Fayemi had only three achievements to his credit in four years. These, according to him, included: the new government House, dismissed as elephant project, the uncompleted civic centre and uncompleted state pavilion. The pavilion project, he said, gulped huge state resources without any concrete use for the people. In a similar vein, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti has reportedly signed documents directing the state’s accountant-general to immediately refund monies over-deducted from the salaries of teachers who had bought some facilities from government during the previous administration of former Governor Kayode Fayemi. Fayemi is now the minister of Solid Minerals Development in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. A few years ago, teachers had bought cars and laptops among other facilities from government on loan with an arrangement for monthly installmental deductions from their salaries. According the Ekiti state chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) , Comrade Samuel Akosile, the over-deductions from the teachers’ salaries has been a perennial problem but when brought to the notice of Governor Fayose, he promptly set up a committee to look into the complaint, giving an ultimatum of 30 days to report back to him. Spokesperson to the governor, Lere Olayinka, said the report and its recommendations were submitted to the governor on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Osuntokun hall of the government office, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
