EventsThe "One Lagos Fiesta" Is Coming To Town by oluspicy(op): 8:09am On Dec 23, 2016
The Lagos State government has announced its rediness to host what it calls a better, bigger and bolder edition of the popular “One Lagos Fiesta” which would take place across the five Divisional Zones of the state: Badagry, Epe, Ikeja, Ikorodu and Lagos Island. The event will start on the Christmas eve, Saturday December 24th, 2016.

In a press release signed on Thursday by the State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, the government said residents and visitors in Ikeja, Ikorodu, Epe, Badagry and Lagos Island will be treated to the best of musical entertainment, cultural displays, comedy and cuisine from the state.

The fiesta, which made its debut in 2015 after the Lagos Countdown was rechristened to One Lagos Fiesta and spread across the five divisions of the state will run daily from 12 midday to 12 midnight, with the first six hour dedicated to entertainment for children.

According to the Commissioner, the fiesta will be running on the same template like last year’s but with three notable additions to make it more impactful this year.

“Firstly, the duration of the fiesta is longer for this year. Instead of the five days of last year, Lagosians will have eight days of fun and camaraderie this year.”

“Secondly, there will be space and reward for new and up and coming talents across the five Divisional Zones this year. We have already had a very successful audition where 50 successful candidates have been picked from each of the zones. They will have the opportunity to perform on the same stage as the superstars that will be featuring this year. Two finalists will emerge from each zone by Friday the 30th December. Those lucky 10 will then slug it out at the grand finale of One Lagos Fiesta at the Eko Atlantic stage with three winners that will be rewarded handsomely.

“More importantly, this year’s fiesta has a broader base of artistes, beyond hip-hop and contemporary music. There will be more traditional troupes and local artistes from each zonal division and the fiesta will welcome participation from non-hip hop superstars that will grace the fiesta for the first time like King Sunny Ade, Chief Ebenezer Obey, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (Kwam 1), Sir Shina Peters, Queen Salawa Abeni, Lagbaja, Adewale Ayuba, Abass Akande Obesere and Sulaimon Adio Atawewe.” He stated.

Mr. Ayorinde also added that the fiesta would kick off on a bright note from Day One with superstars like Olamide, Phyno, Tiwa Savage, 2Face, M1, Kiss Daniel, Reminisce, Falz, Adekunle Gold, Yemi Alade, Seyi Shay, Pato Ranking, Humble Smith and Techno as well as renowned disc jockeys and stand-up comedians are being expected across the zones.

“The beauty of One Lagos Fiesta is the fact that as creative economy in all the five divisions of the state is being developed, residents also have the opportunity to see for free several superstars that they only see on televisions, magazines, newspapers and other electronic media or would have spent a fortune to watch on stages at different events at Lagos Island or the Mainland

Mr. Ayorinde adding that residents in each division will also have the opportunity to welcome His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to the show in their areas, as the governor has promised to be present in each of the zones.

The Commissioner assured Lagosians that adequate security measures and emergency medical services would be provided in all the zones throughout the duration of the fiesta. He urges revelers to be orderly and cooperate with both security agencies and organizers that have been mandated to ensure a memorable celebration for Lagosians.” He said.

Nairaland GeneralNaij.com Replies MMM Founder,sergey Mavrodi by oluspicy(op): 10:41am On Dec 20, 2016
Dear Mr Mavrodi,

Our attention has been drawn to your open letter dated Sunday, December 18, 2016, which contained a series of heavy criticisms to the address of Nigerian journalists. Therefore, as the biggest online news platform in Nigeria, NAIJ.com deem it necessary to provide a couple of clarifications below:

First and foremost, let us remind you that Nigeria is not Russia. Nobody can tell Nigerian press and media what to write and what not to write about. Freedom of speech and press is one of the fundamental values of our nation. BTW, in case you missed it, presidents also change in Nigeria by means of democratic elections.

The issue of unbiased coverage has been touched in your appeal. Please understand that the aim of Nigerian online and printed press is to be objective rather than take MMM down. Once your company reaches incredible success, we, as well as our fellow colleagues in other media houses, would be happy to report. Invite us!

However, a sudden stop of operation was considered and interpreted as a collapse. It is not far from truth. Can some of our editors who are a part of the scheme withdraw their money tomorrow? - NO. Do you have a clear and specific date when this can be done? - NO. Can millions of Nigerians who invested their “spare cash” use it for buying Christmas & New Year presents for their loved ones? - NO.

The question is: what's the root of the panic? Some media reports, or the actions and limiting steps taken by MMM Nigeria without any prior notice? We think the answer what came first is obvious.

So, once you resume after the Yuletide period, we would be pleased to report about it.

Let us finish the open letter with your own words: “Leave us [journalists and bloggers] alone and let us work without interference.”

Yours,

Bayo Olupohunda

Editor-in-Chief

Read Sergey's letter below:

"Dear journalists, “analysts” and all kinds of “experts”!Please stop using MMM to gain cheap popularity. Leave us alone and let us work without interference. I’m just astonished by your irresponsibility and cynical attitude. Interests of millions of people, your fellow citizens are at stake. Don’t you have any sympathy for them? Why are you fueling hysteria around MMM and provoking a panic? Why are you doing this so diligently and persistently, what is your purpose?

"In fact, absolutely all your provocative and worthless articles and “analyses” (I said “worthless” because you do not have any real information about what happens in the System, and might have never had; you simply invent everything, fabricate it) are merely negative: “MMM has collapsed!!!.. MMM will not be working in January!!!..” etc. Are you intentionally presenting all of it in such a manner and whipping up tension by any means possible in order to increase the ratings of your publications and attract attention to them? Don’t you care about people at all?

"So, nothing has collapsed, and MMM will safely resume its work in January, as announced. Suspension of work for holidays is a usual thing, merely working moment, no more than that. It would have remained a normal, just a part of the usual routine, and might have gone almost unnoticed if it were not for your totally cynical and irresponsible attempts to advertise yourself, create a scandal out of nowhere, and make the most of this news topic in any possible way.

"Again, leave MMM alone and let us work. Nothing has collapsed, and MMM will perfectly resume its work in January. We Can Change the World!"

Christianity Etc"I Know" by oluspicy(op): 7:21pm On Dec 19, 2016
Good evening dear friends...

I took my cloth to my tailor and asked him to fix the little opening near the pocket.

The man turned the cloth inside out and then began to TEAR the pocket with his hands... Hah! I was like, "I said you should sew, not tear".

So I shouted, 'You are tearing my cloth o'.But he replied "I KNOW".

Those two words sank into me like a heavy stone sinks in water. I couldn't talk again.

He's the tailor, and I'm just a customer. Even though I couldn't relate tearing with sewing but the Tailor says "I KNOW".

God is saying, 'I KNOW'.

He hears your complaints.

Father I need a job, its been long I left school.... "I KNOW"

Father, My fiancee just left me... 'I KNOW'.

I have no money to pay for my rent... 'I KNOW'

I was rejected and abused... 'I KNOW'

I have no money to cater for my needs... 'I KNOW'

Lord I just lost my job and I have a family.... "I KNOW"

So many times when the Lord is fixing us, He starts by 'tearing' us. Tearing our confidence in ourselves, Tearing all our philosophies, Tearing our pride and fake humility, Tearing the things we call dear and giving us the truly dear things.

The only thing necessary is wisdom. Wisdom to know when it is the Lord and when it isn't the Lord. The devil tears to KILL, God tears to FIX. God tears the old to give you the new.

God's tearing fire only refines His own. God's tearing approaches only yields the peaceable fruit of Righteousness.

So in reality, God tears no man, He only makes. We call it TEARING, He calls it MAKING. We call it BREAKING, He calls it BUILDING. He knows you have needs even before you ask. That's why when we complain... He responds thus: 'I KNOW'.

For I KNOW the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
-JEREMIAH 29:11

Trust God.

I hope to improve on these in no distance future.

Thanks.

SportsRe: NFF Can't Pay The Super Falcons Due To The Recession by oluspicy: 11:58pm On Dec 06, 2016
robosky02:
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it will soon pay players and officials of the Super Falcons all their entitlements for winning the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).

A statement by NFF’s Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, quoted the Federation’s General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, as saying the money for this was however not available at the moment.

“The Federation is not happy about owing players and coaches. But it can only continue to seek their understanding and those of hoteliers and travel agents, as well as its management and staff until the situation improves.

“There is no gainsaying in the fact that there is a severe economic challenge in the country now and all organisations, whether government or private, are feeling the pinch. But, it is not government’s doing.

“We know we have financial commitment to the players and officials of Super Falcons, and we have not at any time stated otherwise. But the money is not readily available at the moment.

“I appeal to them to understand the situation of the Federation, to understand the situation of the country at the present and exercise patience.

“We will pay them all monies they are being owed as soon as we receive same from government, just as we paid the national under-17 team’s players and officials who won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile last year, after the tournament.

“Just as we paid coach Samson Siasia’s wages as soon as we had the funds after the Olympics.’’

Sanusi also recalled that the Super Eagles were owed monies for the match against Tanzania and were paid when funds for that match were made available by government.

“We still owe the Super Eagles for the matches against Zambia and Algeria, but the memos have gone to government and are being looked at.

“But we must commend the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, who has been energetically pushing the cases of the various national teams.

“We have sent the memo for the Women Africa Cup of Nations in October and it is being processed as we speak.”

Sanusi stated that NFF had meanwhile embarked on an aggressive drive to find a permanent solution to the issue of owing players and coaches.

He also stated that corporate players were now listening to the NFF’s leadership and the Federation’s finances would soon improve.

“We are also working to get monies outstanding from former sponsors of the national teams, to complement what we are expecting from government.

“In relation to all these, we are in the process of sorting out our TSA domiciliary accounts so that we can receive our due grants from FIFA and CAF, including the $80,000 prize money from the AWCON, once it is available.’’

The NFF General Secretary also appealed to media representatives to understand the plight of the Federation, and temper their write-ups with some understanding.

“This morning, I was reading a report that the Federation is yet to pay the Super Falcons one kobo. That is not correct.

‘“While the team was in Cameroon, the NFF sourced for money from one of our sponsors and paid the players N500,000 each and also paid the technical crew and backroom staff.

“Our friends in the media should make the effort to clarify whatever information they have before going to press.’’

While applauding the Falcons for their tenacity and total dedication to duty in Cameroon in spite of low morale, Sanusi confirmed that a reception would soon be held for them.

“NFF is waiting for word from government to know when the African champions will be hosted to a state reception.

“The reception for the senior women national team is out of our hands. We are waiting on the Federal Government and as soon as we have confirmation of the date, we will inform the players and officials to regroup in Abuja,” he stated.

http://punchng.com/we-dont-have-money-to-pay-super-falcons-nff/
Points to ponder on:
1. Does it means that NFF lacks the responsibilities of motivation and welfare of the team before embarking on the tournament?

2. Was there no budget on ground and duly approved by concern bodies?

3. What will NFF do if they are yet to be paid a month salary?

4. Is this how you are treating the white coach you hired, when you can't pay the workaholic indigenous coach?

Furthermore, the above excuses really shows the level of incompetency and maladministration of the NFF as a whole.

Shameless people!

Every man of purpose has a lot of responsibilities to accomplish on earth. You are not there for yourself alone as many are looking forward to seeing you giving them what they need and what others cannot give them.

You shouldn't allow your purpose in life to be a bread and butter issue on life. It must be something great, something different and something unique. The purpose of your life must be able to outlive you in many ways.

The Bible says in Exodus 9:16,"And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name be declared throughout all the earth..."

So it's not all about your life but about the world at large. Don't be afraid because of your purpose. Never give in to fear cripple you. Fight for your purpose. It is greater than your life.
Have a very sound forecast and determination that you'll be there.

Believe it!

Fight for it, because the world is waiting to celebrate your purpose.

Stay blessed!

The Hilarious Truth.
We, the people born between 1950-1980 in Nigeria and other African countries are the blessed ones...
We are the awesome people... Our life is a living proof.
While playing and riding rented bicycle, we never bothered to wear helmets. We played marbles, steycions (seed of agbalumo; what is the English of agbalumo self, maybe cherry), skipping ropes, clapping (Ooya, 10-10), bojuboju ooo, tàlowá ni'nu ogba na? etc.
After school time we played until dusk but never watched the world (TV) by locking up ourselves in a room.
We played only with our real friends, not with www.com friends.
If we ever felt thirsty, we drank tap water, ice water tied in nylon, bottled water didn't exist.
We never got ill even after sharing the same juice or tree top with four friends.
We didn't put on weight even after eating plate full of sweets, eba, amala, koko, Monday to Saturday (but on Friday at schools, dodo ati rice (raisi). On Sundays only, we had Bongo ordinary tea or lemon grass tea with long bread or yam. On special days (Xmas. New Year, Easter, Maulud Nabiyu, Eidil Fitri/Ileya, we had Jollof rice (raisi) for lunch packed inside a large tray for about 20 children. We jolly well, ate Saara anywhere with fresh chicken legs, head and wings, Chicken orTurkey kę?
Nothing happened to our feet even after roaming and kicking ball made of rags bare footed
We never used any health supplements to keep ourselves healthy.
We used to create our own toys, omolangidi, empty St. Louis sugar carton and milk tins, okoto ( made of Bic biro cover and tiger battery plastic part.
No magnetic or white boards in our public schools classrooms, we rather use charcoal, used batteries and leaves to darken our plywood chalkboards.
Our parents were not rich, and they never chased after money. They just searched for and gave only love.. not any worldly possessions.
We never used to share our emotions by using emoticons in mobile phones.
We never had cellphones, DVDs, Play stations, X-Boxes, video games, personal computers, internet, web chatting, but we had many good friends.
We used to visit our friend's home unannounced and enjoyed food with them. We never had to call them and ask for their parents permission to visit their homes.
Loving people were near to us so our hearts and souls were happy. Hence we never required any insurance policy.
We might have been in Black and White photos but you find colourful memories in them.
The Ultimate is that we are a unique and the most understanding generation, because we are the last generation that listened to their parents and also the first that have to listen to their children.
We are the last set of people to trek kilometers bare footed to school, carrying metal portmoto or sileeti on our heads and yet carry our children to school in cars or by drivers.
The last generation to enjoy free public school and education but the first to horribly pay to train children In private schools.
We had less homework in our days so could help our parents in home chores but have to assist our kids in their homework who cannot assist parents or maids in home duties.
We are not special, but a LIMITED EDITION and ENDANGERED SPECIES. I am proud, I belong to this noble generation.
Please dear INDOMIE GENERATION, learn from this piece.

Thank you.

Back in the days as a teacher and an administrator in private school, I counselled a young boy who was addicted to pornography and masturbation.

He told me he can't do without masturbation.

One thing that struck me in his confession was when he said, ''My mum caused all this for me."

Curiosity got hold of me and I asked him, how?
He said; "I started masturbation since when I was 4 years old. My mum has always been dressing up Unclad before me, I am used to seeing her unclothedness."

"I am not moved to have sex with her but I always long to see mature ladies Unclad just the way I always see my mum dressing up Unclad before me."

"I still remember seeing her unclothedness regularly till I was 8 years and my dad do shout on her, 'send this boy out before you dress...!' ,but my mum would always reply by saying, 'will my son sleep with me?
Stop planting evil thought in his heart'.

"Anytime I see my mum's Unclad body, I long to see ladies' Unclad body."

"I then went into sex at age 10 and up till now I am not free from sex and heavy pornography with masturbation...'

Dear parents, I hope you are not guilty of this?
You are dressing up before your 2 years son/daughter and you say he/she doesn't know anything yet?

Thats very cruel!

Some couples will be having sex while their close to 2 years old child will be in their room with them and we feel, he can only see, he can't understand.

Sir/ma, that your child does not need to understand.

Seeing your unclothedness or seeing you and your spouse making love is enough to plant abnormal sexual fantasies and urge in that child.

Remember, it is a JETS/ INTERNET world! Where children of nowadays learn things faster through what they see, read or listen to.

In my observations and experience, I found out that a child's brain radiates faster like a radar and he/ she is eager to demonstrate what has been seen or heared. Infact children are intelligent but lack wisdom.

How will you destroy your own children with your own carelessness or negligence?

Don't let your children see your unclothedness!

Don't make love in the presence of your child no
matter the age.

The scene sticks into the memory and they may want to explore and experiment what they are seeing or hearing.

Stop making free home-made 'sex clips or video' for your children to be watching.

Mummy, sit up properly!

Dress properly too!

Stop sitting as if you are in the labour room; parting your legs for your son to see your inner tight and pant.

Be careful!

"Daddy, don't wear ordinary boxer at home that when you sit down your 'thing' will be popping out its head or when walking around, it will be dangling like a pendulum clock and your daughter is seeing this."

There are things you should not wear beyond your bedroom, just for your spouse. Let us be modest in our dressing.

Don't say because you want to enjoy your freedom in your house. Its not your house alone, its a family house/home. You are putting your children into sexual bondage through these acts.

Mummy, wearing ordinary bra, spag or other indecent clothing materials around the house in the presence of your sons is dangerous!

Yes, they won't lust after you but they might be messing around and increasing their curiosity to see the breasts of ladies out there.

Also learn how to monitor how brother and sister mingle with each other in terms of sitting, sleeping, dressing and so on in order to curd incest.

Let's stop being 'pornographic materials and custodians' to our children.

Raising sexually pure children, it begins at home'

Remember, "CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME"

My Counsel though.

God Bless Your Home.

Family"My Mum Dresses Up Before Me" (must Read!) by oluspicy(op): 1:00pm On Nov 29, 2016
Back in my days as a teacher and an administrator in private school, I counselled a young boy who was addicted to pornography and masturbation.

He told me he can't do without masturbation.

One thing that struck me in his confession was when he said, ''My mum caused all this for me."

Curiosity got hold of me and I asked him, how?
He said; "I started masturbation since when I was 4 years old. My mum has always been dressing up naked before me, I am used to seeing her unclothedness."

"I am not moved to have sex with her but I always long to see mature ladies naked just the way I always see my mum dressing up naked before me."

"I still remember seeing her unclothedness regularly till I was 8 years and my dad do shout on her, 'send this boy out before you dress...!' ,but my mum would always reply by saying, 'will my son sleep with me?
Stop planting evil thought in his heart'.

"Anytime I see my mum's naked body, I long to see ladies' naked body."

Femi... but you know that you are billed to perform at Val Times Hotels in my area this weekend. If its at Ibeju Lekki you did that, I trust part of your eye and nose must have been missing, especially from those hungry looking bouncers of Val Times that are yet to collect their over 3months salaries.

Please no excuse dis time for not coming to perform on that day cos Mr. Ade won't find it funny. He has spent more for this show.

Wishing you quick recovery Mr. Double Wahala.
