A seven-year-old girl, Nneka (not real name) has narrated how her father usually play with her private part and insert his manhood in her mouth. The victim, who lives with her parents at their Ojokoro Housing Estate, Meiran, Ijaiye, Lagos, said the father would pay her after making love with her. The primary three pupil while narrating the incestuous incident to newsmen recently said, “My daddy usually gives me money after touching my private part or putting his penis in my mouth. He touches my private part when my mother is outside washing clothes or when she is not in the house.” According to Vanguard report, the victim’s father, whose identity was given as Chukwuemeka Odunzie, allegedly started defiling his daughter early last year. Narrating her ordeal, the victim’s mother, Mrs Odunzie, said: “Last year, my son told me that his younger sister was fond of playing with her private parts. It sounded strange that a seven-year-old child would be doing that. “I will talk to her, scold her and sometimes beat her. There was a time I told my husband. “All he said was that if she was acting strangely I should take her to any of these white garment churches. I was alarmed when one day, while we were in the sitting room, she started touching and playing with herself. “Immediately, I called her inside the room and asked her what the problem was. I asked her if anyone was fiddling with her private parts. She said it was her father that always touched her private parts and that after touching her private parts, he would give her money. “I confronted my husband when he returned from work but he denied vehemently. I reported a case of defilement to Ebenezer Divisional Police and the policemen invited my husband for questioning. “He was arrested later by the police, who gave me a report to take my daughter to the hospital. The doctor said there had been no penetration, but that there is an opening in her vagina and advised that the victim be tested for infection. “By the time we came back from the hospital, the IPO said it was a family issue and that we should go home and settle the case. “Members of his family were shouting, saying that I had no right to report the case to the police, that it was a family issue that should be treated as one. They pressurized me till I withdrew the case, after which he promised not to defile our daughter again. “After I withdrew the case, my husband began to beat the children at the slightest provocation. And at times, he would beat them for no tangible reason. “Two weeks ago, it happened again. I asked her what she did for her father that made him give her money without giving her siblings. That was when she said that daddy gave her the money after touching her private part. “Her siblings said it had been ongoing for a while and that they refused to tell me because the last time they did, their daddy kept beating them. “Her brother said whenever I was not around, or I was outside washing clothes, daddy would send him and his other siblings inside the bedroom, while he would ask the victim to kneel down in between his legs and bend her head towards his manhood. “She also confirmed that after touching her, daddy would put his penis in her mouth. “There was even a time my daughter was caught in the act with a four-year-old boy, who is a neighbour’s child.” The accused, Chukwuemeka Odunzie, admitted that it was only once he abused his daughter and that he was not doing it for diabolic reasons. http://dailypost.ng/2015/09/07/man-sleeps-with-7-year-old-daughter-inserts-manhood-into-her-mouth/

A group of suspected cultists, in the Mushin area of Lagos State, have reportedly dragged an unidentified motorist out of a commercial bus and buried him alive, drowning him in a filled drainage canal. According to reports, the victim was said to have been on his way to the Oyingbo area of the state at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, when the hoodlums dragged him out of the bus at the Total bus stop in the Mushin end of the Ikorodu road around Oyewusi Street. An eyewitness, who identified himself as Jacob Amos, spoke on the incident, saying the reason for the attack was unknown, adding, that policemen from the Alakara Police Division were alerted. He said, “The man was in the bus when he was dragged out at Total bus stop. They brought him into Mushin and I immediately alerted the policemen from Alakara. “The police went to Oyewusi Street, and searched the place for more than one hour, but they did not find anything. They patrolled the place and when they did not see anything, they left. “When everyone had dismissed for the night at about 10 p.m,” Amos continued, “they brought the man to the railway line and pushed him from head down into a filled canal. Only his leg was sticking out and he died soon afterwards.” Reports reveal that policemen from Alakara division removed the corpse on Thursday when they arrived at the scene. Another witness who spoke on grounds of anonymity, said the police ordered him to pull out the corpse from the filled canal. A male resident grieved that the police in the area, were not doing enough to arrest the turbulence in Mushin. “This is the second time in a week that people from the Oyingbo area would be pestered and killed in Mushin. This may start a war between the two communities,” he said. Speaking further, the source said, “It’s obvious the police in this area have been compromised. When we called them yesterday that someone had been captured around Oyewusi Street, an informant of the cultists whom we suspect work with the police, quickly alerted the guys and they left the place.” http://dailypost.ng/2015/09/04/suspected-cultists-drown-man-bury-him-alive-in-lagos/

Pastor Chris Okotie has reacted to Emeka Ike’s outburst that he was responsible for his marital crisis, disclosing that he has nothing to do with the actor’s wife. DAILY POST recalls that Suzanne, Emeka’s wife, has been in court, pushing for the dissolution of their marriage and the play-boy actor on the other hand, had been on an apologetic end, for reconciliation. On Thursday, the Nollywood actor-cum-producer had accused the general overseer of Household of God Church, as being the architect behind the ongoing crisis in his 12-year-old marriage. Emeka in an official press statement on Thursday, disclosed that the pastor absolved his wife into his church without his consent and all efforts to get in touch with him had been abortive. He further alleged that Okotie hired a lawyer on his wife’s behalf to speed up their divorce, noting that it was totally unreasonable for one’s pastor to be involved in destruction of something he should try to mend. Reacting to this through a media advisor in a telephone chat, Okotie quizzically told Ike that his claims were so baseless that he could not justify them in a simple comment. “There is nothing to what he is saying. It is total rubbish. What is he saying? Why would a pastor be interested in his domestic issue? Will he say he wants to marry the woman? “What kind of man will lay such claims on the internet? Why is it that anytime any of them have issues, they always want to drag Okotie in? “Responding to the outburst will only make this guy feel important. Well, this pastor can’t dignify him with any,” Okotie added. http://dailypost.ng/2015/09/04/your-claims-are-totally-baseless-chris-okotie-fires-back-at-emeka-ike/

The immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has affirmed that no one can probe him. Amaechi was reacting to recent report that he and former governors: Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano); Sullivan Chime (Enugu); Babatunde Fashola (Lagos); Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom); Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Shehu Shema (Katsina) and Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State were being probed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and related offences Commission. Speaking on behalf of the ex-governor, Tony Okocha, a former aide to Amaechi, said his boss was not afraid of ICPC or the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as long as the probe was not a witch-hunt. According to him, Governor Nyesom Wike was only out to rubbish his predecessor. “I have always said that Amaechi is not afraid of the EFCC or the ICPC as long as such probe is not a witch-hunt. Again, there is a court order that the EFCC or other agency like it cannot probe any government official in the state. Wike is a beneficiary of that court order. “Until that court order is vacated, the ICPC or the EFCC have no right to investigate Amaechi. Since what they are going to investigate is his (Amaechi’s) activities while in government, the EFCC and the ICPC do not have such right based on the standing court order,” he told Punch. http://dailypost.ng/2015/09/04/corruption-no-one-has-the-right-to-probe-me-amaechi-boasts/

The panel of judges for the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal has been reconstituted. Justice Muazu Pindiga has been replaced by another judge as Chairman of the tribunal. DAILY POST reports that the development drew an intense protest from the respondents. Counsel to Governor Nyesom Wike described it as moves by subterranean forces that might be at work to ensure that the outcome of the petition favours a particular political party. He urged the tribunal to give the respondents some time to review the development before taking further action. Counsel to the petitioners, Akin Olujimi, also expressed surprise at the development, but urged the tribunal not to waste any more time, considering the fact that time is of essence in the election petition case. After listening to the concerns, the new chairman of the tribunal ruled that he had to take charge of the tribunal following an order of the Appeal Court in a letter he said was dated 1st of September. The panel also held that any party that is aggrieved as a result of the reconstitution of the panel should file a protest to the appropriate authorities Meanwhile, hearing of the Rivers State governorship election petition has opened in full, as the first set of witnesses called in by the petitioners have started undergoing cross examination. http://dailypost.ng/2015/09/03/rivers-election-tribunal-gets-new-judge/
