RomanceRe: What's The Big Deal In Friend Zoning A Guy? by OMA4U(m): 3:46pm On Jul 06, 2014
ITbomb: Life is too short to play around bro,
There is one I discarded on Wednesday, after 3 weeks of initial stuff (fast food, calls, chat, recharges, you know na), it came to the point for me to ask her to know my place, she come reply say, she no dey sure whether she should enter another relationship after her last experience, make we be friends.
As she dey talk am, my head dey calculate how much I don spend for the babe.
After she talk finish, I calmly told her say I like her straight forwardness but she for tell me this 2 weeks ago say my feelings for her don pass level to see her as just a friend.
I come tell her bluntly that for my side she cannot eat from the kitchen and yet does not enter the kitchen. Say that arrangement no favour my understanding of a relationship so it cannot work. Paid for the drinks and we left. I delete everything, na last night I see text say my chat no dey go (I blocked am), say she dey bored. I bin wan reply am say make she find me come my place if she dey bored but I come remember wetin Pastor talk today for church, I say make I save the text for draft, I go send am tomorrow
This is quite funny. Many of them seem not to know what they want. Playing around with a guy's feeling is catastrophic to his emotions. That friend-zone thing fit kill person.

So what did the pastor say? make you nak akpako today abi? lol...

Nairaland GeneralRe: Reaction Of Nairalanders During The Offline Period! by OMA4U(m): 12:10pm On Jun 27, 2014
Ah! I miss nairaland. Nairaland became a missing part of me. I was just complaining and mummuring about how much I long for this site. One night I shouted, seun osewa, where are you? Wake up from your deep slumber and find solution to it. My friends were just bewildered at my reactions. Indeed am addicted to nairaland and i can't imagine life without it. I just pray this doesn't happen again.

Love, like the wind that blows the lovestruck
Love, like the liquor that sparks within the love-drunk
When one it hovers like a blanket, it's fantasy
When the blanket wet of love wine eludes unaware, it's heart broken

Story! Story! You know what, like someone said, it would have been interesting if you're writing for Primary 1 pupils. Try to give more descriptions. Follow the popular saying, show, don't tell. Give your readers the vivid pictures and be more articulate. Also, remove those unneccesary words in parenthesis.
Thanks...

rapmike: Oga, i have heard you. In as much as you are right abt your post, ur tone made it seem like it was a personal attack, thats what am pointing out and thats why i referred to Larry's post. You emphasised so much on the shorthand.

Well, its all cleared up now, am waiting for the next contributor to come in. I hope he/she will nt use shorthand.
Rapmike, now you're talking. You have seemed to get what she was pointing out. You see, Ishilove has always been a good critic. So I'm not being biased. We shall all improve and get there someday.
Peace......

Ishilove: Truth be told? I couldn't read your contribution. I always have a difficult time reading shorthand. I can't stand it so I zone out when I encounter it.

You are going off tangent. Who is talking about pidgin English here?? Pidgin English and shorthand are two very very different things. Did I tackle the syntax of writers alone? Scroll up and read agina before you say untruths.

I don't know why I even bother because it is very obvious you are not getting the point I am trying to make (or you don't want to).

See folks, I was right, wasn't I? When you criticise them they tag you 'oversabi'. Lol. It just never changes grin cheesy
I was about typing that. It's true that when you criticize them they call you 'oversabi' and that's why we're not getting sound criticism. I wonder where a writer is going when he cannot even handle the constructive criticism Nairalanders provide. Someone like Ishilove criticizes with an open mind and makes you know what's left to be added or where you get it wrong, hence you become better. I could remember when she criticized Royver, she pointed out things that could not be seen with an ordinary eye, except with the eagle eye of her likes.

Listen, gentle man, what am saying is that we need good critics, though their criticism may be harsh at times, but we have to learn from them and that's only way we could get better. It's not just common critics we get, 'Ride on I don grab pop corn, I'm following you, keep it up, etc.' If someone uses bad grammar for instance, let's hit the nail on the head. 'Guy, your grammar is not up to, I think you need to learn how to make good grammatical constructions.'

The objectives of critics to writers are not something we can handle with levity, if you really mean business.
Ishilove, thanks.

rapmike: Ok, i don hear you....

READ MY THREAD AND TELL ME WHERE I WROTE IN SHORTHAND IN MY STORY.......

i understand ur point about improving, but you can't just judge people's abilities on an informal setting, that's my point.

by the way, you just took a swipe at the shorthand without carefully viewing the post and proffering solutions to what i wrote, you could at least do that.

Ur tone sound judgmental so try and pipe it low...
my 2cents

P.S. EVERYONE DOES NOT COME UNDER UR RULE, SIMPLE
That's why some people cannot improve. 'Agidi' too much. Someone who knows better is trying to tell you what to avoid if you are serious about being a writer. At least, listen to them so that you can be better. Truly, that shorthand thing has deteriorated the way people write.
Ishilove and Larry-sun, nice contributions. Your head dey dere.

Mr. Man, abeg no attack me. I'm a learner o. I'm a novice, not even an amateur who is working hard to come out better. So don't bother to attack me. I know Nairalnders with their ever insults.

Nairaland GeneralShow Your Appreciation For What You Have Learnt Through Nairaland This Year by OMA4U(op): 7:20am On Dec 20, 2013
I thought for a while about logging on Nairaland each day, but my conclusion is that it's worth it to browse Nairaland daily. It's an addiction that is profitable, because Nairaland is like a citadel of learning. You learn from others' posts and comments. You also get daily headlines through Nairaland and as well meet people who could help. I know many who have gotten help through Nairaland. So Nairaland is worth the addiction and daily logon at least.

Hence I'm ceasing this time to show my sincere gratitude to Nairaland for what I have learnt this year.
God bless Seun Osewa, God bless Nairaland and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Now to you, let's keep it going... Show your appreciation
