Ah! I miss nairaland. Nairaland became a missing part of me. I was just complaining and mummuring about how much I long for this site. One night I shouted, seun osewa, where are you? Wake up from your deep slumber and find solution to it. My friends were just bewildered at my reactions. Indeed am addicted to nairaland and i can't imagine life without it. I just pray this doesn't happen again. |
Good to hear that you're working on it. Don't worry you will get there |
Love, like the wind that blows the lovestruck Love, like the liquor that sparks within the love-drunk When one it hovers like a blanket, it's fantasy When the blanket wet of love wine eludes unaware, it's heart broken |
Story! Story! You know what, like someone said, it would have been interesting if you're writing for Primary 1 pupils. Try to give more descriptions. Follow the popular saying, show, don't tell. Give your readers the vivid pictures and be more articulate. Also, remove those unneccesary words in parenthesis. Thanks... |
Nice one! Thanks for sharing.... We're waiting for more. I really need to learn |
princesa: The literary giants speaking in very elusive English. God help us, the learnersSo you could see what I'm seeing with my eyes. May God help us oo, but you are one of them now. It's been a while. Happy New Year o. I hope this year brings you immeasurable positive changes. |

rapmike: Oga, i have heard you. In as much as you are right abt your post, ur tone made it seem like it was a personal attack, thats what am pointing out and thats why i referred to Larry's post. You emphasised so much on the shorthand.Rapmike, now you're talking. You have seemed to get what she was pointing out. You see, Ishilove has always been a good critic. So I'm not being biased. We shall all improve and get there someday. Peace...... |
Ishilove: Truth be told? I couldn't read your contribution. I always have a difficult time reading shorthand. I can't stand it so I zone out when I encounter it.I was about typing that. It's true that when you criticize them they call you 'oversabi' and that's why we're not getting sound criticism. I wonder where a writer is going when he cannot even handle the constructive criticism Nairalanders provide. Someone like Ishilove criticizes with an open mind and makes you know what's left to be added or where you get it wrong, hence you become better. I could remember when she criticized Royver, she pointed out things that could not be seen with an ordinary eye, except with the eagle eye of her likes. Listen, gentle man, what am saying is that we need good critics, though their criticism may be harsh at times, but we have to learn from them and that's only way we could get better. It's not just common critics we get, 'Ride on I don grab pop corn, I'm following you, keep it up, etc.' If someone uses bad grammar for instance, let's hit the nail on the head. 'Guy, your grammar is not up to, I think you need to learn how to make good grammatical constructions.' The objectives of critics to writers are not something we can handle with levity, if you really mean business. Ishilove, thanks. |
rapmike: Ok, i don hear you....That's why some people cannot improve. 'Agidi' too much. Someone who knows better is trying to tell you what to avoid if you are serious about being a writer. At least, listen to them so that you can be better. Truly, that shorthand thing has deteriorated the way people write. Ishilove and Larry-sun, nice contributions. Your head dey dere. Mr. Man, abeg no attack me. I'm a learner o. I'm a novice, not even an amateur who is working hard to come out better. So don't bother to attack me. I know Nairalnders with their ever insults. |
promisechild: they don't allow that in unibenOkay, I'm actually referring to Unilag. Any Unilag student in the house? |
promisechild: no he can'tBut I think the change is still within faculty of engineeering |
Good day, brothers. I have a younger brother who is taking Jamb next year. He wants to choose Metalurgical Engr. in Unilag (for lower cut-off), and hoping to change to Mech. Engr in 200 level. How possible is this? I need good response, please. Thanks. |
I thought for a while about logging on Nairaland each day, but my conclusion is that it's worth it to browse Nairaland daily. It's an addiction that is profitable, because Nairaland is like a citadel of learning. You learn from others' posts and comments. You also get daily headlines through Nairaland and as well meet people who could help. I know many who have gotten help through Nairaland. So Nairaland is worth the addiction and daily logon at least. Hence I'm ceasing this time to show my sincere gratitude to Nairaland for what I have learnt this year. God bless Seun Osewa, God bless Nairaland and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Now to you, let's keep it going... Show your appreciation |
