[quote author=Ihatepork post=63298343]Do you people have to blame the West for all your woes in this life? Why don't you blame the FG instead of blaming the West. What exactly do you tool used against South. Yorubas that just got a real taste of govt in 2015. Jonathan, a Southerner was there for 6 years, you're not blaming him. You're not blaming all your Igbo and Southern senators. You're not blaming your governors for not lobbying. You just have to blame Yorubas. Also, keep that "Lagos was built by all Nigerians" nonsense in your pocket. No one invited you to come "develop" Lagos.[ Wait Bros Park Well If You Dont Know The History Of Lagos. Let Us Take Ur Region That Has More Senators Than The South East, What Have They Lobbied Out Over The Past 17years With Regards To Other Part Of South West, FG Only Gives Attention To Lagos Because It Was The Former Capital Has Attracted Much Populace From Other Region, There By Making It A Cosmopolitan City, Aside That There No Difference Btw South East/west. |
okway2:It A Known Fact That The Port In Lagos Was Built In The Early 60t'z When Lagos Was Still The Capital, And It Was Built Un Opposed By Other Region, Let Admit This. If There Was No Oil In The ND Will The Govt Have Even Welcomed The Idea Of A Seaport Down South? I Dont Think So. Put Tribalism Aside, The Upgrade Of Those Port Will Be Beneficial To Lagos And The Entire South. The West Should Stop Being A Tool Used Against The South By The Far North. They Should Stop Coverting Our Collective Effort As Theirs Alone, Lagos Was Built By Al Nigerians From All Region With The Igbos Contribution A Large Chunk As A Non Indigene To Lagos Not Just By The West Alone. If We Had Played The Tribalism Card Then A Large Part Of Lagos Would Have Still Been A Forest. |

I Believe If Middle Belt Had Their Own Country, This Attack Would Have Been Countered By The Middle Belt Security Agency Even The Fulanis Wont Have The Gut To Attack Without First Going Through Diplomatic Means, How Can All Ethnic Group In The Country Be Complaining Of Just One Single Group, To Those Who Love One Nigeria I Know You Want Nigeria To Stick Together But At What Expense, Take A Look At The News The Best Solution Can Be Decipher In My Comment, We All Need To Go Our Seperate Ways. |
Change Nigeria By Building Statue And Making Nigeria A Family Business. |
I stand with Odua. |
I don't know how that has become your business oo. weather they die or live is not your business face your region and let them face theirs. I believe with this your thread you want the status quo to remain, Restructure first and worry about ur own region. |
mrvitalis:If the where economically self sustained they won't be pushing for Biafra, The fact that they are not economically self sustained at the moment doesn't mean they won't achieve great or lowered height if Biafra where to ever be actualized. Please help me outline the disadvantages of biafra, the only option that can reduce the Biafra agitation is restructuring, my own idea of restructuring is going back to regional system of government with a and un attractive center, where each region will control and manage their resources. you might want to ask what resources does alaigbo has that is a sought after commodity in the world, alaigbo has the highest amount of gas deposits in the whole of Nigeria and the world is moving away from crude oil, as we have heard France talk about banning all vehicle that has anything to do with oil by 2040. |
Number 4 is the bone of contention to start with, the Nigerian state has benefited enough from the oil boom and its time for those community that produce this oil to benefit from it, you said it took Nigeria 20years with contributions from all unit of the Nigerian state, I believe the Niger delta region has paid back in full and more than double the interest. If not the rest point is useless, because every region will still be depending on the oil, what we should be pushing for is regional autonomy. |
Ozouno1:While my knowledge may be limited on other things stated above, I can't help but disagree on your assertion that there is/was ever a tribe call Biafra or biafara, I did a little research on both and it both met a dead end. Aside from biafada, a little tribe in far away Guinea Bissau, well all know that Guinea Bissau can not be found on the bight of Biafra so that is another dead end. But I agree with you, the biafran name should be dropped and something indigenous should be adopted, if the country is going to be multi ethnic they all ethnic groups should put heads together and provide a suitable name for the said republic. I believe the name Biafra was adopted because no other country or nation adopted it despite it fame, just like the bight of Benin which has been adopted by the republic of Benin. |
captainking:It was at nnewi anambra state. |
Yyeske:Bro that doesn't mean am not a pro biafran ooo.. am a pro biafran till I see what I am suppose to see when Biafra have been achieved in Nigeria, if I don't see those qualities and improvement bros I will continue to push for a better option, when two or more people are gathered ideas and decision are hard to adopted or taken BT when yo alone you tend to take the best decision that will aid your growth and development quicker. Nigeria is like the gathering of so many people who cancel each others idea just to stop one from the other from earning cheap point the development of the nation. but with Biafra has a monopolistic nation ideas would be adopted swifter, and no one would love to propose an idea that will hurt one self. |
Yyeske:Most definitely. |
true talk |
Yyeske:You mean how to down the Biafran agitation at the moment. first restructuring will reduce the agitation of Biafra by at least 50% as with restructuring comes resource control. create an addition state to fill in the gap not from the south east but for anioma state to be created and added to the south east to make things look more equal. when it comes to roads the east has good road network built by the their governors but all federal roads in the east are nothing to right home about. Regional government will at least reduce the clamor for federal government presence in the south east. all in all I think restructuring will put Nigeria and resource control with a weakened center will reduce the hate at the moment as we all will be looking toward the regional governing council, when our region fails to meet our demands. all region will compete against each other in order to attract the best of the best of investors. |
Op also get your facts right, and stop putting the blame on biafran's we have seen many more coup after the first how many lead to the massacre of those from the ethnic group that carried out the coup. You see am a lover of history and I would be un bias in my comment Biafra was born out need to defend after the Easterners has been decimated in the north by their northern counterpart. why did they need to kill so many? you would ask, history told us two things it said the easterner jeered at the northerners about how their political leaders where killed bt come to think of it was that the reason why so many where killed. my history book wouldn't agree in 1950 - 1960 the igbos and yorubas had the highest literate rate in the whole of Nigeria and with the igbos occupying so many position both publicly and privately it sparked jealousy amongst northerner and they sort for ways on how to push the igbos out of their region through the northern assembly. The 1966 coup was just the right excuse to carry out the expulsion of the easterner from the north, and they planned with care and carried it out co-ordinatedly with their military wing giving them full backing and protection, so get your facts right. And about corruption it will be handled the right way when Biafra has been actualized corrupt leaders won't have any where to hide. at the moment in Nigeria the Nigerian constitution seem to protect them a lot. |
Sir I respect your opinion with regards the current state of the nation and with emphasis on the security threat that comes with the agitation but be not afraid self determination is not a call for war. For a part of a nation as big as Nigeria that prides itself as the giant of Africa to be willing to go to any length just to break off it ties with Nigeria, it really something to worry about and it about time the government of the Nation call the aggrieved part of the nation to a round table discuss. And if not fails to materialize and both Biafra and Nigeria both go their separate ways, am sure there will still be many many biafrans in your country that you will make friends with as they will also prepare your favorite oha and bitter leaf soup when ever you need it. |
Ojiofor:Am done replying him. |
Yyeske:The deed has been done we await the after effect. |
Greenthumb:OK sir! next. |
Ojiofor:I just hope he see reason why this Biafra agitation is also a blessing to the rest of the south regardless of Nnamdi Kanu utterance at the start of IPOB push for the actualization of Biafra, he wouldn't have made any impact with the normal approach that brought down the likes of Massob and BIM or whatever. Biafra has been marketed to the whole world and world bodies are keeping their watchful eyes on Nigeria this will push the country to subscribe to restructuring in order to bring the voice of the agitation to the lowest of low. |
Olril18:we haven't been gaining anything with positive approach to things the negative aspect can will cool down with time, as much as I don't like the hate speeches approach used by Nnamdi Kanu, I think it the same approach that brought the seriousness of the agitation for Biafra to world watched limelight if not it would have just ended as the story of the massob and the rest that couldn't even approach the U.N even after many many years. |
Yyeske:Sir they don't have to mention it before carrying it out, and don't misquote me. if kanu had been preaching restructuring it no different from myself preaching restructuring online just as you are doing, what gave Nnamdi Kanu this popularity was the agitation of Biafra and he even became popular with hate rant everyone wanted to hear this guy that had the guts to speak ill of the Nigerian state and her indigenous ethnic group mind you no group was spared. Now do you think he would have gained such popularity with a calm, dormant approach that the rest of the south is using to push for restructuring, even it is even the restructuring that is rubbing of Nnamdi Kanu popularity and we should be glad about it. stop thinking one way one way abeg, also look at the negative as well as the positive. |
Greenthumb:And you believe the rest of the world would just sit by and watch. this is not 1967-1970 the age of Brut force this is 2017 The informative age, the world is watching and listening remember there is a saying the internet never forget. all measures necessary will be used to prove that pro biafran where unjustly killed in the world court. so beware do not preach or subscribe to the promotion of violence before we are Nigerian we are first HUMANs the unity of Nigeria is not worth a single soul. |
Yyeske:Oga they didn't cry to anyone they just made the whole world to be aware of the next line of genocidal attack that with take place in the north in the coming month so that their push for the actualization of Biafra would have been justified. In as much as the quit notice has been withdrawn it has done half of what it was suppose to do, which is draw the attention of world bodies, another issue that will maintain keen interest of world bodies on Nigeria is the Re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu. Even if the agitation does not bring about the least if can achieve would be restructuring, if the whole of the south has been calling for restructuring and there was no agitation for Biafra the government would never have taken the idea of restructuring serious. |
And he won't resist Re-arrest. |
how did this happen. |
sgtponzihater1:First of all get your facts right before coming online to post this. IPOB means ( indigenous people of Biafra not independent people of biafra). and like you rightly Nnamdi kanu is the leader of IPOB and don't call them miscreants because they don't agree with you. yo also right when you said IPOB is a group BT it is not an Igbo group BT rather a pro biafran group dominated by the igbos. Majority of Igbo may not like the Igbo approach but they are willing to capitalize on the popularity it has been able to attract, the larger population of igbos which can be found in the south east are biafrans at heart so they will give Nnamdi Kanu the support needed. And truly he was warned not to come to Lagos because Lagos is not part of biafran territory not because the igbos in Lagos are not ready to welcome him. If you think am lying let there be referendum today and watch how things pan out. |
