The man, Emeka Nobis, disclosed that he and his brother recently attended meetings in their mother's village as part of the traditional burial process. According to him, they met separately with three groups: the Umunna (men of the kindred), Umuada (women of the kindred), and Alurudi (women married into the kindred).
He explained that each group presented its own set of requirements before the burial rites could proceed. Nobis shared one of the lists online, showing numerous food items and refreshments expected to be provided for members of the group.
The post quickly attracted widespread reactions, with many Nigerians questioning why grieving families should face such financial obligations while mourning the loss of a loved one.
Reflecting on the experience, Nobis revealed that his mother died at the age of 71 after a prolonged battle with cancer that had already cost the family millions of naira in medical expenses. Because of her age, he said she was classified under the highest burial category in his community, with the family also expected to provide a cow as part of the traditional rites.
Despite the demands, he said he and his brother have chosen to approach the discussions calmly while engaging community leaders in constructive conversations.
Sharing the reason behind making the experience public, Nobis wrote that he wanted to document the realities of traditional burial practices in his part of Igboland, prepare others who may one day go through a similar process, and encourage conversations about reforming customs that place heavy financial burdens on bereaved families.
"Culture can be modified. It's left to us to challenge these practices as years go by. I'm pretty sure that it definitely will happen," he wrote.
His post has since sparked a broader debate online, with many arguing that some traditional burial practices should be reviewed to reduce the financial and emotional burden on grieving families, while others maintained that cultural customs should be preserved but adapted to reflect present-day economic realities.

Love at adulthood can be broken through discipline and dedication, as it is very easy for matured minds to move on and rededicate their affections.
The case does not apply to puppy lovers. I can attest that they are one of the most dangerous humans on Earth. They can be in same environment, pretend like they don’t know each other while they are still intimate. The worst part is that, they don’t both see it has a crime or forbidden act.
They have been intimate since childhood to adulthood and have perfected their tricks. When they don’t marry each other doom is guaranteed, and you just borrowing someone’s wife. The luck you might have is that, you might never know cos these sets are dangerous.
They will never leave that relationship till one of them dies.
In conclusion, when a man or lady mistakenly tells you she had a guy in her primary schools days who she was sexually active with till university days, just run for your life.

Because unemployment is so high, employers know they don't have to pay fairly — there's always somebody desperate enough to accept whatever is offered. "Experience" is used as payment

Job hopping gets frowned upon, but staying loyal rarely gets rewarded either
Stay too long without much salary movement, and you're seen as complacent. Leave for better pay elsewhere, and you're labeled "not loyal" or "job-hopper." Employees can't win either way, while employers benefit from both the guilt-tripping and the underpayment.
Skilled workers are undervalued until they leave the country
Funny enough, the same skills that earn "we can't afford to pay you well" here suddenly become worth 5-10x more the moment someone relocates abroad. That alone tells you the issue was never really about the value of the skill — it's about what employers can get away with paying, locally.
This isn't about entitlement, it's about fairness
Working hard should reasonably translate to being paid what your labor is actually worth, not just enough to survive while a company profits comfortably off your underpayment.
I think a big part of shifting this starts with us actually talking about pay more openly instead of treating it as a taboo topic, and being willing to walk away from roles that don't value us — as difficult as that is in this economy.

Nobody should blame Dangote, rather NNPCL should be asked what happened to the crude for naira deal they had with Dangote. Dangote is a businessman and hence would want to make profit. Let's also not forget that Dangote is importing the crude he's refining.
I'm still of the opinion that Adeyemi is only a "ball boy" in this case. The main culprits are in Aso Rock and won't be touched. Because this level of scam can't be done by one person alone.
