What does he know about the living condition of the people in the creeks? Well, it's normal to talk that way when your driven in a car that is government owned, you don't buy fuel, you're secured by the government, paid well and living large.
Let me predict my country again....When the rice arrive at each state, it would be sold at the current market price and when you ask why, they will tell you that its because of the cost of transportation of bringing the rice from Abuja

Gboss247: That the question APC supporters keep avoiding. The Petroleum Industry Acts (PIA) was supposed to commercialized NNPC by removing the last subsidy (petrol) by June 30th, 2023 which Tinubu removed on 29th May 2023 and continue paying subsidy through the back door. This commercialization was supposed to reduce government stakes in NNPC and increase private investors stakes but right now, NNPC is 50% CBN and 50% Federal Ministry of Finance making it 100% government owned yet parading itself as a private company (NNPCL).
Gistmedia10: A young Nigerian entrepreneur is grappling with profound distress after thieves ransacked his yet-to-launch gadget shop, stealing goods worth millions of naira and causing extensive damage. This unfortunate event has left the aspiring business owner devastated.
In a video posted online, the entrepreneur, visibly heartbroken, expressed his anguish by saying, "The shop I'm yet to launch, see what thieves did. What man did to man." The footage reveals the severity of the damage, showcasing broken walls and dismantled burglar-proof installations, highlighting the thoroughness with which the thieves executed their plan.
The shop, which was set to offer a variety of high-tech gadgets, had its shelves emptied by the burglars who made away with valuable items, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices. This significant loss has been a major setback for the young entrepreneur who had high hopes for his new business venture.
nairalanda1: We import crude oil because in the 1970's we made the decision to subsidise the price of refined products...which had the lovely side effect of making refining unprofitable...and thus our domestic refining capacity was damaged, so we had to import.
And since most of us want the fuel to be cheap, we subsidise the imported stuff, and pay high prices for it...meaning that we lose forex, and have a knock on effect on our economy
IN 1987, we refined 400000 bpd at home, by 2019 it was 6200. IN Venezuela, their largest refinery went from refining 900000bpd to less than 100000bpd over the same period. Both NIgeria and venezuela do subsides.
At the end, things need a profit to run. NO profit, problems result.
But they're individuals that are benefitting massively from the importation
It's a shameful thing that in 2024, we are blessed with crude oil but yet we still import petrol, diesel and kerosene...its a case of an owner of a restaurant whose children alway goes to bed hungry...with this, I can boldly say that they're people that are benefitting from the country being unable to have a constant 24 hours power supply

That's where the police should come in and ensure that the protest is peaceful.
Salewa97: Tinubu is absolutely right! Home is where the heart is, and there's no place like Nigeria for growth and opportunity. Those abroad should remember the immense potential we have here. Let's unite and build a better Nigeria together, regardless of where we are!
