Flier: I am not in support of protest at the moment,it’s going to lead to mayhem people are very angry at the moment Many people supporting this protest will lose their means of livelihood if it should happen
Wisdomkosi: OPINION : Four Reasons You Should Think Before Joining The Nationwide Protest
By Wisdom Nwedene
Ahead of the planned nationwide protest scheduled to kick off on August 1st, 2024, I strongly believe that Nigerian Youth should think twice before joining the protest.
Wisdom, hunger is no respecter of tribe or religion...and it doesn't ask for permission to enter your biological system
Though, there are genuine reasons for the protest but I have four strong reasons which made me to believe that this protest is not in the best interest of the country at the moment.
Below are my reasons
1. The organisers Of The Protest Are Faceless Individuals : It's crystal clear that those organising this protest are not known till now. I recommend that this type of protest should have leaders that should be calling the shots in case things go wrong. In a protest where everyone is a leader, many things can happen. The organisers should be at the forefront, leading the protesters and controlling the crowd so that things won't go wrong.
2. Thugs Can Hijack The Protest: It's very difficult to organise a peaceful protest in a country battling with bandits, criminals, hoodlums and expect things to go fine.
3. It's Still Early To Judge Tinubu’s Government : I still believe that it's too early to judge Tinubu’s Administration by leading this type of heavy protest against him. Despite that his policies are too harsh, Tinubu still needs time to address issues and bad policies of previous administrations.
4 All of us can still remember what happened during the EndSARS protest. Many lives were lost and property worth billions of Naira destroyed. How sure are we that this Nationwide won't degenerate to what happened during EndSARS protest? I think we should think twice. We can't afford to lose more lives and our national assets destroyed again just like what is happening in Kenya.

Gistmedia10: Scores of youths from Ekpan community in the Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State protested at Chevron Nigeria Limited on Monday, alleging that the community was being denied employment opportunities. The protesters chanted and danced around the company’s fence, holding placards with various inscriptions to voice their demands.
The protesters maintained that the community was neither hostile to Chevron nor other firms in Ekpan. They stormed the facility early in the day, threatening to disrupt its operations, leaving workers stranded both inside and outside the company's yard.
Some of the protesters accused Chevron of ignoring the provisions of the Local Content Act, which mandates the employment of a certain percentage of the workforce from host communities.
It's just funny how the father of protest is now telling people not to protest...as for the UN report, they're late...I expected this earlier than now...what's their interest in Africa if not for the natural resources? Well, we will come to that another day...
Lying in hypocrisy...you destroy alcoholic beverages but when other states generates revenue via VAT from alcoholic beverage and they include it in FAAC, you go collect. Why don't you reject it?
akingangan: Dangote is calling off plans to invest in a new steel plant in Nigeria after the government accused him of seeking to become a monopoly with his new refinery in the West African nation.
Dangote said, "let others that have more money than us go and bring their money from Dubai and invest in their fatherland."
“Our own board has decided that we should not have the steel plant. If we do, we will be called all sorts of names,” Dangote said at a media briefing Saturday at the refinery in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub.
helinues: I have friends in Kenya, the same financial bills their youths rejected, price of basic things gone up in the just concluded week.
The government would tell you they won't sign it but still implement it. What then is the purpose of the destructive protests in their country which sent the investors parking.
Like the president, like the citizens
Then they should hold their representatives and Mayors accountable
His mistakes about the protest was not to have engaged the social media influencers and explain details the reason why initiating the finance bill, the consequences of not passing it.
What he should have done earlier is what he is doing now.. Cart before the horse
A typical politician will always do the last thing first and do the first thing last.
