Suddenly, a "born to rule", "almajiri" senator becomes their preferred source of info, Vanguard newspaper is NO LONGER relevant!!

Such morally debased hypocrites.

When your representatives are busy fighting Sowore and ordinary Nigerians on twitter, how likely are they to find the time to really sit and do the work for which they were sent to Abuja to do??

Since this news broke, not even as much as a raised eyebrow have we seen from them.

What a pity.

These guinees amuse me no end. After all the threats and chanting war songs, once security agents arrive their doorsteps for just a parley, they start screaming "no be us!!" I thought they'd be excited what they've been looking for has finally fallen into their hands...

Reminds me of that ipod yoot who kept threatening to kill the president on twitter with other yootfull brothers of his cheering him on only for them to start screaming "he's a Yoruba imposter" when the state security launched into action to track him down. cheesy

What a bunch of noisy cowards.

I really don't understand these people. They threaten fire and brimstone, telling everyone who cares to lend a listening ear they'd "burn down the zoo" as prescribed by that mad albino. Then once news breaks they've murdered a fly, they get all nervous and defensive, claiming it's a lie!

Na wa oo.

Electoral process that he has repeatedly raped? Tell me something else. If you are talking of non-interference, you'd be right if you mentiomed GEJ as was evident in most of the elections conducted under him. Your attempt at presenting the chief dullard as a democrat is dead on arrival. Try another strategy.

Both parties have always been neck to neck in the FCT, thumps up to the president for making inec independent. Kudos to Abuja pple for keeping it peaceful
This is why I just laugh at PDP supporters when they "taunt" APC for losing elections in supposed strongholds. They fail to see that the president has adopted a posture of non-interference, which of course angers most party faithfuls as it gives the opposition room for a foothold in areas in which they could easily be outmanoeuvred, albeit illegally.

The president is indeed a true democrat silently enriching our electoral process and democracy.

Ponponkon:
The government since June 2015 has been calling on people like him to show up for verification, their files are stamped don't pay until they comply with the directives. Background check reveal some persons who are gainfully employed by the Federal government but their names reflect on Abia payrole, thus they are avoiding the verification like plague and waiting for Abia government to relapse so that the money will be paid to them. The state government will soon make the list of ghost wokers and other fruadsters public. The grace period for verification is almost getting to an end
Whatever it is, honestly, I tend to always see these men as victims rather than culprits. They built the foundation upon which the civil service rests today only to be treated like dogs on retirement.

What prevents us from paying these men 70k pensions when a governor could be earning over a billion per year as pension?

The structure of the Nigerian civil service as it stands today is like an inverted pyramid- it is an anomaly badly in need of reconstruction.

I feel terrible whenever I come across these men in banks.

That reminds me.

Sometime three years ago, I was driving out of the house and just along my street before hitting the main road, saw this grandpa trudging along. Pulled over and asked him where he was heading and it was just about half a mile from where I was heading, so I offered to drop him off before proceeding to my destination.

Started chatting and dude surprised me with his flawless english! cheesy. He appeared like a man who could hardly construct a correct sentence. Told me he was heading to a meeting of pensioners that they were constantly being short-changed by the banks and want to take a formal position, as a body, over the trend.

Told me stories of what pride it used to be working in the civil service but that today, the whole system has been basterdised by our generation. Told me how they used to remit unspent monies back to the treasury and how transparent they were, but today, all that is no more. Then he asked me a question that got me thinking for the rest of that day. He says "if they had behaved then the way we are now, what would have been left for us to survive on"??

Talked about a few other stuffs and he introduced himself when he was getting off- very refined gentleman I must say. smiley

Bro, the system is really crooked and it would take a lot of will power to fix the rot. I'm not at all saying what the man did it right, I'm just saying were things being done the way they should, we would rarely have incidences like this- he would have been a satisfied and proud "retiree".

Eyaa. Sometimes I don't really blame these guys.

Retirement in the Nigerian system is something every civil servant, especially the low ranking ones, dread. Whereas, in civilised societies, they anxiously look forward to it.

Politics › Re: Where Were Niger-Delta Senators & Reps When Lagos Calabar Rail Was Removed? by omenka(m): 11:54am On Apr 10, 2016
HopeAtHand:
Let me use Rivers state as an example. If a politician who supports APC live in a neighbourhood, the PDP govt would tar roads in the sorrounding neighbourhoods and refuse to work in that neighbourhood. They will distribute transfomers and wouldn't give one to that neighbourhood. Every form of governance will skip them because of that politician.

But what they fail to understand is that the politician does not necessarily feel the pinch as he already has SUVs to drive on the bad roads and a Lister generator at home for electricity. They are simply undoing the common man.
The mentality of an average Nigerian politician leaves the devil scratching his head in disbelief.

So disgusting.

They are all PDP senators. They wanted the Lagos-Calabar rail project out so that they can discredit Amaechi by saying he overlooked the Niger Delta. Their plan is to paint APC as a party that hates Niger Delta.

Their hate for Amaechi will kill all of them.
So true.

Oh dear. That was a close shave. Thank God no human casualty was recorded.

A lot of work still needs to be done to clear the remnants of the numerous mines buried in recaptured territories so we don't end up with a large population of amputees in that zone.

Godspeed NA.
