@ Lalasticlala, @Seun: I see no reason why this thread should be allowed grow cold and die.
Someone created a "personal opinion" thread about Buratai's statement on the "missing soldiers" and it was pushed to the fp. Here's another Nairalander who has no less rights than her with his personal opinion regarding the Ekweramadu's attack yet the thread has been left unattended to for over 24hrs.
We need fairness around here please.

First off, I don't smoke. Secondly, I don't eat "gworo", but hell, I eat "bitter kola", matter of fact, I had one this morning, good for one's health. Now, in your previous message, you talked about an "overused red shirt". Here's the thing: I've got three red shirts; a ManUtd jersey, a Liverpool jersey and a normal adidas t-shirt. While you were begging me to send pics of mine to you in the past, I sent you a pic without my face, just my torso up to my chin, cos like I told you then, I don't trust beeches like you with such erratic emotions. I wore the ManUtd jersey in that pic and that is the only pic of mine you've seen in which I wore a red shirt. Now tell me, which overused red shirt are you referring to?? That aside, I might indulge you and get rid of the shirt, but you know what you need to get rid of?- your damn face. Folks like you are so damn ugly you need no costume on Halloween if you were living in the West. Wanna see what an orang utan looks like, take a damn selfie. NgeneUkwenu: The Areas Buhari Has Covered According the Economist Include:
1. Boko Haram, an insurgent Islamist group, has been weakened during Mr Buhari’s half-year at the helm (though bombs this week killed 43 people),
2. Power supplies are somewhat more reliable.
3. A bigger budget has been outlined for 2016, though it is unclear how it will be financed, and recurrent spending will be pared back.
4. More heartening is the president’s crusade against corruption. Staff have been fired from the state oil company and customs department. Officials are tackling smuggling along leaky borders.
5. To reduce fraud, an opaque network of government bank accounts has been replaced by a centralised system.
5. Several politicians, including the president of the Senate, a former oil minister and an ex-national security adviser, are under investigation.
6 .Meanwhile, biometric registration at banks should expose more money laundered by civil servants and their stooges. High-rollers are on their best behaviour. Lamudi, a property company, reports a slowdown in expensive sales, partly explained by the fact that the rich would rather not be seen splurging.
With Muhammadu Nnamdi Buhari As Our President , Nigeria Is Now On The Wheel To Greatness!

MizMyColi: The Shadow Cabinet Of Nigeria in a state of utter shock and dismay hereby decry the coordinated bombings in Yola and Kano in the past 72 hours resulting in 49 deaths and many injured, worse still, the alleged case of 105 missing soldiers as reported in the media. We are aware of the recent press statement by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, that no army officer is missing.
We beg to differ on this. We have reached out to a few reliable sources within the ranks of the Nigerian military and we can confirm that things are very bad, the Nigerian press seem to be covering up a lot of things.
Could it be that the Nigerian Army and FG have colluded to quash this issue of grave concern by maintaining plausible deniability, in a bid to forestall a campaign similar to the BringBackOurGirls movement?
At this point, we demand to know the men who make up the 175 battalion, we demand a proof of life. Also, we demand undeniable proof that all vehicles, a truck loaded with over 60,000 rounds of AA ammunition and artillery pieces be accounted for. As a matter of National emergency and urgency we charge the presidency to take the following steps:-
1. Conduct a more thorough investigation and release an official press statement confirming or denying such reports. Nigerians deserve to know the truth. 2. Inform the Nigerian people on steps being taken to ensure the safe return of our gallant and brave soldiers to their families and loved ones, in the case that this report is officially declared to the general public as true.
3. Employ every might and resource to ensure that the Nigerian Army #BringBackOurSoldiers ALIVE. The Boko Haram insurgents have been reported as the world's deadliest terrorist organisation. Such negative and shameful development is a far cry from President Muhammadu Buhari's promise to annihilate Boko Haram within two months of assuming power.
The Chibok girls saga is yet to be resolved and at the time of this release, we have an alleged case of missing soldiers on our hands.
If this eventually turns out true, then it is a monumental embarrassment; A slap on our military might. This cannot be handled with kid gloves. We urge all hands to be on deck. Our collective resolve as a people must be to shun terrorism in all it's forms. In all sincerity and purpose, we hope that this alarming news turns out false, however, in a case where such is confirmed, our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the missing soldiers who are yet unsure of the fate of their husbands, sons, and fathers. Moreso, we commiserate with the families of all the victims in the recent bomb blasts. We pray that they be granted fortitude to bear such immense loss. We equally encourage our soldiers out there on the battlefield not to despair. Nigeria will rise. #SayNoToTerrorism I wish you lot could just limit your opinions to Biafran/IPOD/Nnamdi Kanu's affairs. Why are you so interested in what goes on in Nigeria?? I'm sure many IPOD scoundrels would rush to self-service on the thread without reading it. They get excited like rhesus monkeys on steroids at the sound of bad news- one wonders what business they have with strictly Nigerian affairs.
For such folks, this info is for you- the strike isn't about owed salaries, it is about a commitment made by the previous government to review upwardly their salaries and allowances and then appoint a "director" from their union (a thing of nothing but pride).
I know government is a continuum, but it is too early in the life of the current admin to take such an action over the failed promises of the immediate past admin.

mazeltov: No, it's not about the arrest warrant now. Don't let us derail from the topic. Dasuki calimed he wasn't invited to appear before the panel and One fact is that the panel invited Dasuki and he didn't come. Yes everyone is entitled to fair hearing. Was Dasuki invited to appear before the panel? Did Dasuki show up? He has no beans to spill, even if he has anything to reveal he should be answerable to the panel - any beans Dasuki wants to spill should be spilled before the panel carrying out thorough investigation and not to the Nigarians. We the citizens do not enough access to original information so Dasuki can say anything to dislodge the accusation of the Panel and the Panel also can say any thing to dislodge Dasuki's claims. You even had to take your time to explain stuff that wouldn't make any difference to that irredeemable Wailer. It doesn't matter to them whether a decision is right or wrong, but as far as they remain the losers of the last election, EVERY decision the present government takes is TOTALY wrong and unacceptable in their sight. No one needs to explain this to us from the presidency. We all know Dasuki lied over his invitation. Comparing statements he made to the press over the period his ordeal has lasted shows clearly, someone who thought himself too big to appear before such a panel, asking that the invitation be handed over to his domestic aide as long as it wasn't accompanied by an arrest warrant. Only time will tell. |

Politics › Re: Buhari Killed Awolowo -washington Times by omenka(m): 5:26am On Nov 20, 2015 |
Folks, going by your arguments, it appears the essence of this article is lost on you people. This article isn't about Awolowo or anyone else, it is simply a blackmail to steer public opinion in favour of Dasuki. Imagine how many times his name was mentioned. Read below. Mr. Buhari’s brutal military dictatorship was overthrown in 1985. Mr. Dasuki played a key role. Dictators do not forget. Fast forward to today.
After celebrating fairness, due process, and the rule of law last July to win the good will of the United States, Mr. Buhari returned to Nigeria to mock all three in a vendetta against the Dasuki, the immediate past National Security Adviser.
He placed Mr. Dasuki under house arrest. He confiscated his passport. He charged him with firearms and money laundering violations. He sought a secret trial to prevent independent scrutiny.
He opposed Mr. Dasuki’s pretrial application to the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja for permission to receive urgent medical treatment for cancer in London, but it was nonetheless granted.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola explained that an accused is presumed innocent before trial, and that a citizen’s health is paramount before the law. Mr. Buhari was ordered to release Mr. Dasuki’s international passport. Mr. Buhari defied the order. He put Mr. Dasuki’s house under siege, a microcosm of the Bosnian Serb siege of Sarajevo. Mr. Dasuki returned to court.
Justice Ademola reaffirmed his order, asserting “My own orders will not be flouted.” From the bold letters, one can see the primary purpose of this article- blackmail the president over Dasuki. Forget all the other crap written. The desperation of Dasuki is becoming all too obvious. It is all too clear this is a hatchet job. |

What a shame. So shall they continue to expose themselves unwittingly.
As the anti corruption war rages, these hitherto untouchables would begin to rat themselves out just to save their own hyde. These men stole so much money they could actually wage a successful proxy war against a sovereign state- what some of them have doing to an extent with Boko Haram, and most recently, IPOD.
We can all see why security operatives were insistent on keeping the man within the shores of the country. Any false move and the renegade would have been gone forever!
The courts should be very careful the kind of judgements they grant when issues bordering on national security are taken before them. Now this man has started singing like a canary, shooting himself in the foot at every turn- imagine what might have been had he succeeded in leaving the country!
The outcome of the anticorruption war would to a large extent determine the country's fate, especially in this very trying times when our purse have been thinning due to unfavourable conditions in the international oil market. There's no gainsaying recoveries made from these crooks could finance the national budget for a couple of years.
I'm hopeful Nigeria will pull through this stormy weather.

You raised very important questions here and I'm disappointed APC is yet to respond to PDP's accusation. I'm very sure they are well aware of the loopholes in the "story" as narrated by Ekweremadu's media aide. What is most astonishing about the story is the fact the incident just began and ended like a boring movie. How could such a brazen attempt be made on the life of the 5th citizen of the country and no chase was given the assailants!!?? Did they just "disappear" after ramming into the convoy or what?? Who were the eye witnesses and why isn't the media awash with the story?? It just made headline for a day and then vanished like nothing happened! The tinted vehicle attacked from a flank yet they could see a "bearded man" in the vehicle- did the security details of the DSP have night vision goggles on Was the road closed to traffic during the incident?? How come no other private vehicle was involved?? If it were some "bearded" guy (cleverly trying to tell us it was a muslim) that ran into the convoy in an attempt to kill the DSP, what's the logic in doing so when the vehicle wasn't laden with explosives, or did the trigger of the bombs fail?? If it was some "bearded guy, wasn't it supposed to be a suicide bomber ("bearded" people's weapon of choice)?? Was he planning to ram the convoy and then jump out the car to finish the job using a rifle only to get shot and killed in the process In which direction did the assailants flee after the botched "assassination attempt"?? There are a billion questions that could be asked regarding this incident honestly. The stories are just not adding up. Lalasticlala, I think this thread deserves greater publicity. |
