doublewisdom:He must not be everywhere the President is. Ever heard of the phrase "delegation of tasks"?? And by the way, it is Osinbajo, not "Osibanjo". |
adioolayi:And God bless you. ![]() |
Corruption everywhere. Imagine Nigerians shielding a thief from arrest. Well, he should sleep in the office and never come out. He'll definitely answer to his role in the sleaze. |
doublewisdom:News says Buhari under Pressure to stop investigations, and the next thing someone types is this. Some thought processes just make me speechless. |
hardywaltz:I see. Well, I believe it wouldn't fly here just yet until we get it on a reputable print media or online. |
jack67:Seen. |
Op where's your source?? And let it be credible. Not something like thebreakingtimes or opinionriver (abi na opinionstream sef). |
PDP's brand of opposition really sucks balls. First it started with "Wendel Simlin". Then they graduated to guardiannewsusa.com Then hopefornigeria.com Next was thebreakingtimes.com And now opinionriver.com. They can't even give the damn sites attractive names. ![]() |
When I see headlines like this, the first thing I do is rush to see the source, and I'm never disappointed. News like this exists and surprisingly, all known media outlets in the country never got wind of it!! Isn't that interesting?? ![]() |
Obiagelli:Nooo. It is not the guardian you know, this one was actually registered last year and is meant to expire in 2016 or so. It was created by one "Anthony Ogbo" Here's where they had their bum toasted: saharareporters.com/2015/01/30/pro-gej-fraudulent-online-poll-busted |
I would like to see this as a game of chess. Moves have been made, counter moves would definitely be made. In the end, whose King falls first, or who makes that deft last move to checkmate their opponent is all that matters. #FingersCrossed. |
TheOtherview:Wow. Dude listed himself as one of the young Nigerians to influence the outcome of elections in the country. How much more conceited can one get?? ![]() |
Obiagelli:I'm guessing it is an offshoot of hopefornigeria.com So far, theguardiannewsUSA seems to have gone under after they had their lies busted twice by SR. |
brownlord1:Still shouting?? Got a problem?? So finally a recognisable media house carries a story with a similar headline; are the contents of the stories similar?? Can't you see how provocative that of breakingtimes is, when what is being reported here is that the VP is hardly a security expert hence no need for his attendance. Thebreakingtimes is reporting that "all is not well between Buhari and his VP". What manner of reportage is that?? And why do you want the thread closed Have I lied in any way in what I've written?? Are you the owner of thebreakingtimes?? Why taking this so personal?? |
myweb:Please feel free brother. ![]() |
brownlord1:You just keep yelling everywhere without making a point. Sorry. |
TheOtherview:Just look at this. Yet they want people to take them seriously. Smh. |
PassingShot:Bull's eye! ![]() |
Kororugged:Exactly! I was even going to add that. Very funny how most of their writers are Yorubas. Someone is definitely trying to throw the public off their scent. What a shame. |
Good morning. These are indeed very interesting times. For those of us that might have spent some time on the internet and Nairaland, surfing to keep abreast with the latest developments, especially as they relate to politics, the news portal "thebreakingtimes.com" only barged its way into our consciousness just a couple of weeks ago with her libellous story about the "President's N2Billion Asokoro Mansion" (www.thebreakingtimes.com/exposed-president-buharis-n2-1-billion-asokoro-mansion/) , a story that has since been proven to be anything but true (newsdiaryonline.com/gen_ejected.htm). Now, we all agree propaganda plays a critical role in every government the world over. The government uses it, ditto the opposition, to advance their agenda. Quite frankly, a government or opposition can hardly survive without it. Not all propaganda are destructive as most people tend to think, some are actually genuinely for the public good. To buttress this point, I had to look to wiki: While the term propaganda has acquired a strongly negative connotation by association with its most manipulative and jingoistic examples, propaganda in its original sense was neutral and could refer to uses that were generally positive, such as public healthThere is no gainsaying PDP as a party nurses an ambition to retake Aso Rock from APC, but in so doing, it is important that they demonstrated a bit of decorum and grace. Thebreakingtimes, from my checks, was founded in september 2014 and had their first publication in october of the same year. First, the timing of its birth is suspect, and even more so, its distinctively destructive publications. Some folks might want to shut readers critical of their publications up, pointing to Sahara Reporters and, perhaps, Premium Times. They argue both newspapers are operated under the thumb of APC. Saharareporters.com has over 5,000 publications since it was founded (2006), has been supported by donors such as Ford Foundation and Omidyar Foundation to stay afloat. It's been referred to as the "Nigerian wikileaks" by the reputable tabloid, Daily Beast, and her publications have received reviews and criticism from notable Nigerians such as Soyinka and VIPs like Chris Olukolade, Obanikoro, a Zimbabwean Minister. Hell, even the spokesman of PDP, Olisa Metuh, once called them taking a swipe at former President Jonathan!! They've published countless number of articles highly critical of government and the opposition. On this forum, we've had numerous pro PDP posters post anti-APC articles published by them, but they still hypocritically insist the media is being bankrolled by the opposition. Funny huh? Like Sahara Reporters, like Premium Times. They have editors with names and contacts, but when you visit the "about" page of thebreakingtimes, you find absolutely nothing as regards the owners, editors, or publishers, just some pedestrian balderdash about their mission statement and all that. Some people have said it is run by some aide to Obanikoro with the twitter handle "xyz", but we have NO NAMES on them. If one were to file a case of libel against them, who does one sue?? What these guys are doing is simply not propaganda, it is sheer blackmail and slander. After seeing their latest story brought to the forum by some PDP supporter regarding the VP being shut out of a security meeting second time in a row, I decided to take a stroll to the site and what I saw made my guts twist in disgust. What man with a soul and conscience does things like this?? I understand we live in a democracy and should uphold its principles which includes the freedom of expression, but come on... This is an outrage! I read somewhere the immediate past Deputy Speaker of the House, Ihedioha, admonished that PDP used everything in its power to bring APC and the government to her knees, including using tools such as "propaganda and blackmail". Is this PDP doing so via thebreakingtimes ![]() As time goes by, and as events unfold, I'm hopeful some of us would see this government for what it truly stands for- our collective good- and join hands with our fellow compatriots to give her the support she needs in succeeding. Seun, Lalasticlala and other stakeholders have a role to play in this regard especially as regards the coverage given to news coming from this source (thebreakingtimes). We must understand that we would be the ones holding the hot end of the rod in an event the government fails- God forbid. God help us all. Long live Nigeria. Great. You see, this was why I kept laughing at people when they were insulting the president for making no appointments after being sworn in. It was the biggest display of ignorance nd naivety. These are appointments, and when you make such, you can't just simply fire such persons, and since the NASS elections of principal officers were yet to hold, an act that would ensure the balance of power, Buhari's hands were simply tied. Now that that has been put behind us, he's in a better position to draw up a comprehensive list of his cabinet members bearing in mind the implications of concentrating too much power in a particular zone. Regardless, I'm all for appointing competent hands irrespective of where they come from or what tribe or religion they belong to. |
You sound like you just gained entrance into the university and the girl, an SS1 student. Oil sector ni, rail sector ko. |
Well, if you ask me, at this point, what we need in the country are leaders and not politicians. Leaders are everything politicians can't be. Politics demands treachery, betrayals, selfishness, greed, murder, witch-hunt, etc, whereas leadership demands quite the opposite. It is possible for a leader to be become a "good" politician but virtually impossible for a career politician to be a good leader. #my take. |
ZeezaRapture:Stay calm. Time will tell. |
drtwist:Lmao. Baba, it is wa for you oo. This your tory sweet gan! ![]() And just a tip; the word is "former" and not "formal" as in this case. Former means "previous", "back then", "way back", "initial", you know... While formal means "official". Kapish?? ![]() |
midolian:Were you banned?? Why did you change your signature?? ![]() |
amanze15:Apparently his critics think otherwise. @passingshot: You even forgot adding his democratic credentials vis a vis non-interference in the NASS election. Had Buhari not wanted that shambolic event to occur, it wouldn't have. All he needed to do was deploy armed personnel to prevent anyone from gaining access into the building. Fayose did it several times, they applauded him. Jonathan not only did it, he even ordered that they be tear-gassed, and they saw nothing wrong with that. But Buhari, whom they call a dictator, chose rather not to tamper with the process. But these guys can never see all these, they'd rather we focused on how Buhari's fart smells and the colour of the boxers he wears. Only time will tell. |
