Long Boring Story
On the contrary, I think the writeup is quite interesting and gives an insight into why some world leaders have trademark appearance.

You should read it.

OP on the surface your prefix and the supporting arguments sound convincing.

But a deeper analysis will prove you false on all grounds, I think you are being subjective here.

Good grooming is a sign of respect, but not necessarily a determiner of success .
The op didn't say it is a "determiner of success". What his argument supports is that it makes the task of being successful a bit less tedious. Having not to worry so much about what to wear gives your brain room to accommodate more productive thoughts.

Get the drift now??

You are looking to instigate World War III brother. cheesy

Silently but steadily, the president has embarked upon a campaign that would see to a systemic change rather than a window dressing. Make the system unpalatable for those who would kill or die to get elected or appointed. It is about time we made public officers act like servants of the public.

Soon, we wouldn't be having situations where "thanksgiving" masses are held in our churches when men get appointed. When you see that you are going there to "serve and suffer", I see no reason you should be "thanking God" with a special occasion. cheesy

Nice one Baba. Keep it coming. The Lord is indeed your strength.

I hate hypocrisy, did you hold this same view in 2011 when Tambuwal teamed up with ACN to deny PDP their prefered candidate the Speakership of the lower house.
And I hate it when people can't seem to distinguish between two very different scenarios.

My grouse has nothing to do with Saraki getting the backing of some renegade APC members and the entire PDP members. My problem has to do with the process/procedure, as it has the stamp of illegality all over it just as renown Lawyer and SAN Robert Clerke said. Why the hurry, why the rush?? Was that the situation with Tambuwalhuh How are the procedures similar??

Please if you can't understand as little as this, just keep your "hate" of "hypocrisy" to yourself.

Thank you.

If a competent court cannot quash the election that made Saraki the Senate President, APC should not take any punitive measure against him. The mistake has been made.
Oh, okay. I think I misunderstood you initially. I thought you were referring to his senatorial election coupla months back and not the Senate election.

Mere gimmick to placate the party leadership and presidency after stabbing them in the back.

With due respect sir, we don't care if you get cracking with KOWA, your position is untenable and you must give it up so due process can be followed. Afterwards, the party would decide what to do with you.

Powerful article. And some will say this man hasn't hit the ground running. Thank God we have someone who is competent in power.
Exactly. They want him to constantly shove his face in the camera and announce to Nigeria whenever he sneezes. The man is working silently. Eventually, when we start seeing the actual impact of the sum of his actions, the nay sayers would be shut up forever.

God help us.
Politics › Re: Stolen Assets Recovery: Buhari Demands Fuel Imports From Oil Marketers Implicate by omenka(m): 7:57pm On Jun 10, 2015
Mrs. Alison-Madueke’s “petition” reportedly named all the persons involved in the massive fraud in the oil sector, including some past and serving officials of the NNPC. Our sources said those she implicated in the NNPC include the current General Managing Director (GMD), Haruna Momoh, a former GMD, Austen Oniwon, Reginald Stanley and Sam Okeke, a former Group General Manager, New Business Division of the NNPC.
Lovely. Let the back stabbing begin. The more they rat themselves out, the better for Nigeria.

He's Buhari steadily but quietly fulfilling his pledges behind the scenes, yet some people are expending energy creating threads to outline the things he hasn't done.

Only time will tell.

If Aminu Tambuwal can sell-out his party and last for FOUR YEARS, Senator Bukola Saraki will last FOREVER, unless the gods CHANGE their mind. But the God I know will disgrace all selfish politicians like Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
Hahaha. I see you've toned down your rhetoric from that of unparalleled confidence to cautious optimism.

What happened on the floor of the Senate yesterday was the mother of all illegality, and if Robert Clerke could say so, then indeed there's a big case to answer. Saraki himself knows he isn't home free yet.

When I pointed at Enwerem's case and Okadigbo's yesterday, you guys called me a fool and a sore loser. Here's someone of immense wisdom by all standards validating my position.

The next few weeks are gonna be quite interesting.

*Ps: Enough of the Tinubu this and that. This isn't about Tinubu, it is about the law. Must the law be broken in such brazen manner simply because one wants to spite Tinubu?? You guys should start thinking like adults for God's sake.

OrlandoOwoh:
It is better not to have them in the party than have them and not being able to control them. If Saraki can go against the party as just an "ordinary" member, what would make him respect the stand of the party now that he is the Senate President? If the "election" that made him the Senate President is not quashed immediately, APC should drop the idea of sanctioning him.
You see, this issue is very knotty. Quashing the election or doing anything for that matter to see to the removal of Saraki without a contingency plan to handle the Ekweremadu side of things makes him (Ekweremadu) the President with Saraki's exit. And that is a worse situation.

The Party really needs to think hard and deep before making their next move.

As it stands, I trust nobody. If Marwa is accepted, what would stop Tom Ikimi and Segun Osoba from being admitted?
I think this is the point where dictatorship is desirable. Those recalcitrant congressmen need to be taught some lesson in loyalty. Had Buhari not stuck to his guns on non-interference, we wouldn't have wound up with the kind of awkward situation we now find ourselves.

Let's see how things unfold in the next couple of days.
Politics › Re: PDP has hijacked the national assembly....lai mohammed by omenka(m): 5:17pm On Jun 10, 2015
What happened in the National Assembly, especially the Senate, was highly provocative and condemnable. Had Buhari not been the democrat he is, those guys would have had the bums toasted by tear gas just as the immediate past admin did.

The Party's position should be held and respected over and above anyone else's personal opinions.

Very sad development for party politics honestly.

APC should place embargo on admission of new members from PDP. They could be moles. They should learn from what played out in the NASS yesterday.
That wouldn't be necessary for now. The elections are over. A lot of work needs to be done and I think Marwa wouldn't be such bad hand if you ask me.

Saraki has always been a Rebel from day one. He rebelled against PDP, ditto APC. The last has not been heard of the NASS episode I believe.

I was shocked to my marrows today when one accused me of editing her post after I caught her pants down displaying her ignorance by referring to the Deputy Speaker as a PDP member. After she accused me, she hurriedly went to edit the post, changing it to Deputy Senate President, to conceal her lie and blunder, but she forgot to edit a part of the post that made it clear she was referring to the House of Reps. The whole thing then looked thus: "Deputy Senate President of the House. sad

I was just speechless.

They are supposed to be at peace with their party leaders but the party leaders can't control the NASS in the next four years.

PDP still has a strong presence in that house with the Deputy Senate president and also there are still a lot of APC members that will want to be free from Bourdillon control.

Nwanne, echi di ime
You see, when you try so hard to conceal a lie, you run into bigger problems. You accused me of editing your post when I exposed your ignorance and quickly ran to edit it, but you forgot to do it well. You have changed the "Deputy Speaker" which was in the original post to "Deputy Senate President", but alas, forgot to edit the "House" which was also in the original post.

This is a clear example of how PDP as a party acts. Lies and more lies as the try to conceal previous lies.

You just exposed and embarrassed yourself.

Ma'am, I don't give a damn about which party holds on to power. My only concern first as a Nigerian, is to see Nigeria grow, to see a pro-Nigeria project come to actualization.

Ask yourself this, will PDP be willing to support this administration to see to their success ??

I just hope they're not out to oppose any pro-Nigerian project the APC may want to implement.

Putting it mildly, APC's success will further relegate PDP's presence in the political scene and I suspect PDP wouldn't want that. What they'll do to prevent that is what I fear.

Forgive me if I see PDP as an enemy to Nigeria's progress.
