This is the reason I find it very disgusting when they keep screaming "Buhari is a dictator and a murderer, Buhari jailed xyz and put abc under house arrest". It seems the amnesia runs very deep. They murdered the gentleman for no just reason and a lot other brilliant chaps in that coup which was the first in our history.

Perhaps its time we revisited that incident.

Most of those guys only got exposed to the outside world through Nairaland. Had there not been this forum, the would have long received badges and medals of honour for ignorance and cluelesness from their village chiefs.

The extent of Jonathan's sins against this country makes it VERY difficult for him to hand over power to a candidate from another party. I see his hands tainted with innocent bloods in the NE and most other opposition strongholds, piracy and militancy, and indeed executive theft. I get this feeling Nigerians would find him and lynch him and his wife, including folks like NOI, Alison, Clerk et al when the books are opened and their content revealed to the general public.

Just too bad what this country has gone throung under this hediously corrupt and incompetent administration.

I'm just glad Jonathan and his wife now have files at the ICC. Charles Taylor never thought he'd be where he is today, and so didn't Gbagbo's wife. The day of reckoning draws nearer and those two would be held accountable for all their crimes against the Nigerian people.

Anyone who exposes the rot in Jonathan's administration becomes an enemy of state to be hounded by security agencies. Just a couple of days ago, OPC took to the streets in broad day light wielding guns and other dangerous weapons, molesting innocent citizens going about their legitimate businesses while the security agents escorted them providing ample security as they break the law!!

That is the Nigeria of Jonathan's dreams. Yet some ignorant pipeheaded gasbags around here would tell me "Jonathan believes in democracy". The president's end would even be more violent than Samuel Doe's if he doesn't take a step back and mull things over.

It is absolutely important that we open our hearts and be sensitive towards pursuing our set goals in life to become great individuals during our time. This is not say that we should not actively perform our civic responsibilities as citizens of our country, but we should be wise and diplomatic in carrying out those roles. I love Otunba Lekan Balogun's contributory post about children of top politicians having Twitter handles and Facebook pages but rarely seen using these social medium to champion the respective ambitions of their parents, despite being the first beneficiaries of their parent's success at the polls. Instead its me and you that begin to get heathen on each other on social media over party A and party B. I feel its time we start telling ourselves healthy truths that will help a lot of us shaping our lives. May God continue to bless the articulate youths of our country. Amen!
