Christianity Etc › Re: Bauchi State Government Sponsors 2,306 Christians On Pilgrimage by omenka(m): 2:28pm On Dec 23, 2014
This is one policy I'd like to see scrapped. Let anyone who wants to go on pilgrimage do so on their own tabs, christians or muslims.

Government should have no business dabbling into religious issues. It should be strictly personal and private. I don't think there is anywhere in the Holy Books where it is stated that pilgrimage is a prerequisite for redemption or salvation, making heaven or paradise.

Besides, the process of selecting beneficiaries is acutely corrupt and marked by extreme cronism. Applicants bribe officials and officials
select, in most cases, their kith and kin. Now,how do you reconcile this process with the purpose of the schemehuh In addition, most people go on the trips just to tour the respective countries and not strictly for spiritual cleansing.

Let everyman take care of their spiritual/religious expenses.

Trash.
How is he fronting himself?! Are you aware that he was thoroughly scrutinised before he was made Buhari's running-mate?! Is it because he has refused to be clueless, inactive and ceremonial just like Sambo whose official duty is performed by your 1st Lady?!

OP don't give yourself brainache over the man that knows the importance of his position and what he is expected to do.

This is the reason nigeria remain where it is. A man of great intellectual, and a technocrat vp is dishing out the nations problems and where needs to be sorted out, people say they want to remain in darkness, and prefer the weak, boring, clueless, an non vibrant sam obo whose only ideas are how to change new agbadas with designs
LouisVanGaal:
Even 'Mama Piss' performs the role of a VP than Namadi Sambo...if you think am telling lies..take a tour to primary schools and even secondary...I can stake my life that Less dan 30% of d student would recall d name Sambo as dia VP..in terms of popularity, the best combination of Nigerian rulers sinz 1960 is Buhari/Idiagbon
I implore every progressive who stops by this thread not to drop any further comment. Just read and move on. Don't popularise the thread by commenting. At best just like or share the reasonable comments you see. We have more important issues to deal with.

Thank you all.

And lining up law enforcement officers to receive handouts like refugees in Somalia is your definition of good governance I presume. If I were the IG, I'd sanction the DPO or whoever runs that joint. This is totally embarrassing. If they had worn mufti it woulda been a whole different ball game.

Jonathan is watching his only base the south south split in his eyes, edo, ph are gone. Now apc want to share akwa ibom with him. If not for his selfish interest granting him self automatic ticket, giving govs, senators, house of reps automatic ticket like an emperior adolf hitler, he could have been able to reduce his party civil war. Now the party is crumbling, the hausa men led by sambo that still remain are decieving him and starbing his back, obj is pulling them down frm inside. Okupe and metuh are giving him controveries. It seems everybody want to destroy him.
I love this. cool. Even in Bayelsa, with the overbearing interference from Mama Peace, Jonathan can not be guaranteed a landslide.

The momentum is building up so fast, and PDP is beginning to realise they've served themselves a raw deal with Jonathan.

I wonder if those who made those huge donation would get a refund when Buhari is finally declared winner.

LOL so APC's response to Buhari being old a weakly is in saying that Jonathan's CAMPAIGN DIRECTOR is old? Kai.
This is why it is so difficult to talk to some of you. Common sense and your thought process are like two like poles of a magnet.

Omenka isn't APC and the views expressed up there are solely mine. If any other poster chose to agree with me, good for them.

And like I said in my opening remark, I hate it I'm doing this but just felt compelled to do it hoping people like you would have a rethink over the age stuff, but you have proven what an obdurate you are with the comment you just made.

Politics depends on one's wits, and in rare occasions, sheer luck (Jonathan), and has nothing to do with physical strength. We aren't talking about thugery here.

Have a nice day.

Are they not our leaders who ruled nigeria in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s?

It is just very obvious that age is not the determinant to the solution Nigeria needs!
Absolutely. Age has got nothing to do with it. I was so irritated when they came at Osinbajo with thesame age racket. So nonesensical.

First off, the source of the news is somewhat questionable. But if it is true, then errrr, none of my business.
Politics › So Much For Politics Of Age. by omenka(op): 10:56am On Dec 23, 2014
I don't normally engage in frivolous political discussions bordering mundane factors such as age, religion, ethnicity, appearance, accent, etc, but felt an irresistible compulsion to do this particular thread since they've become PDP's preferred political assault riffles both for the goombahs in Aso Rock and Wadata Plaze, and indeed their online mercenaries.

Now, it is no longer news that PDP has selected Ahmadu Ali as Jonathan's campaign director: www.nairaland.com/2057787/pdp-names-ahmadu-ali-jonathans . His job description is equivalent to Amaechi's.

It is no news PDP and her proponents have been hammering on GMB's age as a major factor bound to guarantee his failure in governance should Nigerians decide to throw their weight behind him at the polls. If this is the case then why select someone as old as Ali to do the job. Since the PDP believes so much in the ability of the youths to deliver on tasks given them, why didn't they go for someone in the mould of Bankole or Obanikoro??

A quick search reveals Ahmadu Ali was born in 1938, making him 78 years! Juxtapose that with Amaechi's age (49years) and see what a yawning gap there is between the two gentlemen! He's a whooping 29 years older than Amaechi and 6 years older than Buhari!!! Is this PDP's definition of youth?? Is their usual mathematics of 16 being greater than 19, 7 being greater than two third of 28, etc, at play herehuh (We don't even wanna go into Tony Anenih's case)

I have said it times without number, let PDP stop being petty and come up with real issues and let's thrash things out like civilised men. All that trash talking has never and will never do them any good because as soon as they open their mouths to say them they stick their feet right in!

Age has got nothing to do with success or failure in politics. Politics isn't an olympic event!!

Thank you all.

I've always said it that age shouldn't be made an issue when discussing delivery of goodies in politics. Success or failure in politics has no age restrictions. We aren't talking olympic marathons here.

That newspaper called premium times is owned by an APC member.
And u should know that APC supporters follow their Oga's very well, each time a post is being made on any of their media platforms, the APC people are usually the first to comment. So dont say Nigerians are talking this n that on premium times. Next time just wait to read all comments first
Even the staunchest of PDP supporters don't use this line anymore. Very stale and boring. PT has been a thorn in the flesh of the opposition as much as it has been PDP.

That sammy guy spoke my mind. It is not just that GEJ totally messed up but, the boldness of his staffs to insult over 170million sensibilities of how well their Boss has fared. Most times I wonder what magic therapy men like metuh, okupe etc use in resolving conflicts in their minds after honing the propaganda machine. But then, if Nigerians can sever heads for money rituals then, Metuh, okupe and the rest jobs can be passed as noble enterprise.
The comment of Tonnaro too is so so on point. Sould have highlighted it as well .

So it is no longer bombs planted in the church.

It is no longer a bomb shot from "a strange aircraft hovering around the building".

It is no longer Boko Haram.

It is now a sophisticated weapon which is arguably in possession of only the Soviets and US.
