The mods should either take down this thread or repharse the topic to reflect what Buhari truely said!

The man said Only death would make him quit politics! How does that equate to sayin only death would make him stop running for president?

And the useless hoardes of protozoa on this forum, in their usual nature of not reading anything but just the title of a thread before comenting, are jumping all over the place devouring every piece of the misleading title like pirannas on a drowning mammal.

Even more appaling is that the thread made FP with the title remaining unchanged!

This is absolutely unbecoming of Seun and every other administa

We've never had a presidency as devisive as Jonathan's and that is an immutable fact!

Typical buck passin syndrome.
Away with all that judiciary indipendence crap, we all know what's going on.

How many politically exposed persons have been prosecuted let alone convicted under the curent leadership? Yet they claim their zeal to fight corruption is second only to that of united states!!
Terrible as Obj was, he did a better job of fightin corruption.

Your paymaster sets up a comittee to investigate fraud and impregnates a "virus" into thesame committee to make rubish of whatever is the outcome of their investigation. Need we remind you of such instances?? He ensures he kills cases even before they get to the doorsteps of the courts.

What are people like mrs Alison Madueke and Mohammed Adoke still doing in his cabinet despite the numerous sleaze their names have been mentioned in?

Someday, and I pray very soon, Nigeria will get an honest leader at the centre and jonathan will be called to explain his role in all of these schemes as we witness today.

Education › Re: FG Can't Meet With ASUU Demands - Okonjo-Iweala by omenka(m):
slap1: FG can't meet demands + ASUU won't shift grounds = 2014.

I've said it before, the best thing is for progressive-minded states to withdraw their schools from ASUU.
That isn't gonna fix our comatose educational system.

* Our public schools arnt gonna be fixed as long as there isn't a law that forbids government officials and politicians from sending their wards to schools abroad and domestic private schools.

* Our hospitals arnt gonna be fixed as long as there isn't any lawthat pr
ohibits politicians and govt. officials jetting off to Germany and co to treat the slightest migraine.

* Our roads will remain in a perpertual state of disrepair as far as every governor and minister has made owning a private jet a priority.
(little wonder why the seem comitted to reforbishing the airports)

* Electricity 247 would remain a mirage as long as those Mikano generators keep pouring into the country

Hear the minister: “At present ASUU wants the government to pay N92 billion in extra allowances when resources are not there"

My questions are, where was Okonjo Iweala's voice when the Fed..:

1. Paid billions to a foreign firm to spy on her citizens.

2. Increased the culinary bill of the first family from 1bill to over 1.3bill

3. Paid trillions to phantom oil companies for importing billions of litres of products only on paper

4. Increased the presidential fleet from 3 to 7

5. Alocated over 900bill to ministry of defence when security has infact worsened

6. Paid glorified criminals billions in form of maritime and oil sector installations security contract when infact oil theft got worse and is at an all time high

7. Budgeted over 4billion to build a monument for the first lady just to grease her ego

8. Budgeted billions for needless expansion of the vice presidential quarters

9. Sit back folding their arms and watch the legislooters allocate themselves bogus salaries and allowances

10. Create all manner of official portfolios to be filled by cronies who waste no time in joining their comrades in the brazen looting of our common patrimony....

Etc.

Okonjo Iweala is a total disgrace!!
Can she honestly tell us how many PAs are under her payroll? Is the number justifyable?

Pay those lecturers their dues ASAP and stop peddling ur usual lies!!

I'm absolutely disgusted at the crop of leaders we have curently!! So fucking pathetic!

lakhadimar: What irritates me most is the way the Gej's government consistently blame opposition parties and past administrations for their own failure
Indeed it is realy appaling!

It is a shame they don't even realize admitting their own faults and taking responsibility for some of the failures as we see today, rather than the usual attitude of buck passing, would earn them more respect and credit even from hardline critics.

It is a general knowledge that accepting faults and taking blames make one appear responsible and willing to make corrections, even if that isn't the case. But this tasteless, irresponsible, and utterly despicable government wouldn't know that now would they?

I ask again, where are the subsidy thieves??

The President is busy issuing press releases against the APC because he was indirectly told that he's been a non starter so far when Akande called him a kindergarten president
This are stong words but not out of place
People are dying like chickens up north
Roads [esp federal ones] are death traps
The 'so called' economic growth is not reflecting in the life of the average citizen
Revenue is daily been lost to oil vandals
University students went on strike just as the polytechnic students resumed from their and all the president could think of was castigate the opposition for calling him [not the office he holds] names
Do you expect the opposition to say you smell like roses [even if that is the truth which currently is not?]
With all the challenges confronting Nigeria all he could do was that?
Delusion has no other name IMHO
But when one is idle even when you have tasks to do, what do you expect?
God bless Nigeria
It realy hurts me no end to see this country adrift as she curently is. We deserve far better than this, haba! What exactly is this government up to?? Do they realy have any plans to fix anything??
Nothing seems to be working at the moment. Absolutely nothing!!!

Yet day in day out, we are bombarded by press releases from Abati and co, berrating the opposition for this or that. I'm realy sick of this government.

We can't afford to continue along this trajectory and expect anything positive. Something has got to give!

Politics › Nigerians Need Answers Mr Jonathan!!! by omenka(op):
There are some hard questions this government has yet to answer, using all manner of distractions, from boko haram, to Rivers state crises, to NGF crises, child marriage wahala, to 2015 struggle and so on and so forth, to hoodwink Nigerians.

Perhaps it is time we re-visited those issues because the govt. appears to be thinking all Nigerians have totally forgotten about them.

Now, we need to know the status of all the investigations into the fuel subsidy fraud which of course dwarfs every known fraud in the history of this country! Over 1.5trillion went missing and not a single conviction despite all the indictments! We know who authorised those payments and we know to whom the payments were made.

We were made to understand some people collected monies and didn't import a single litre of products. Others imported using vessles that have long formed breeding grounds for marine animals at the bottom of the ocean years ago. In other cases we saw that thesame vessle that was said to have brought in products berthed in another country tens of thousands of miles away from Nigeria on thesame day!!! (talk about ghost ships!). The list of abnormalities is endless!

What has happened to all the thieves Mr President?? What has happened to Ahmadu Ali and Bamanga Tukur's sons?? Or is your inability to bring them to book also the work of desperate elements in the oposition since you have a knack of attributing your every failure to the opposition?

We all come here every other day and rumble over petty issues, engaging in tribal wars, ethnic and religious bashing, while the salient issues remain unattended to. I wouldn't be suprised if this thread goes nowhere since it doesn't contain tribal or religious ingredients!

It is high time Jonathan and his crew told us what is going on! Not all of us have forgotten and we need answers now!!

God bless Nigeria.

Politics › TREASONABLE SABOTAGE!! : ALSCON Assets Being Striped By Russian Managers! by omenka(op): 6:34am On Aug 10, 2013
Workers of the Aluminium Smelter Company of
Nigeria (ALSCON) and Ikot Abasi community youth
group have accused UC RUSAL, the Russian firm
currently in charge of the management of the
company, of stripping the plant of core components
with the aim of totally crippling its operations.

The workers, under the aegis of the Metal Products
Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (MPSSAN), said UC RUSAL has been dismantling and selling Stem Rods and Anodes, vital components of the plant used in the manufacture of steel ingots.

A spokesman of the workers association told
reporters in Abuja that the Russian firm, which has
failed to pay the workers’, was also cutting and
melting the Bussbar/Risers used in transmitting
electric current to the production pots for melting
aluminium and selling them as ingots. Also, 20 fairly-used company cars are said to be slated for immediate disposal.

Industry experts gave the current estimated market
value of the Bussbar/Risers, which have never been
used since the completion of the plant in 1998, at
over N1billion, while each of the about 4,200 Stem
Rods and Anodes at the plant are valued at over
$100,000.

The workers said the Russians, working through
some top Nigerian managers, including Deputy
Director (Commercial), Ata Udom; Head of Technical
and Potroom Shop, Albert Umoh and one Gabriel
Udoh, have since January this year cut and sold off
several Anode Stems, with a target to complete the
cannibalisation of the plant before the end of this
month.

“The Russians have put everything in place to siphon the remaining coke and alumina from the silos for sale. When they took over the plant in 2007, they inherited over 8,000 metric tonnes of alumina; 5,200 pieces of Anode Blocks; 5,820 pieces of cathode blocks; over 8,000 Anode Stems; over 200 tonnes of cryolite and over 170,000 tonnes of cast iron. Why they now want to sale even cast iron blocks, together with the pots, is mind boggling”, the workers said.

A spokesperson for UC RUSAL denied the allegation.
Tatyana Smirnova, the director, Communication/
Media, described the allegation as “misleading and
does not correspond to reality.”
“Presently ALSCON is cleaning its territory from
unrealizable assets, obsolete and not suitable for use equipment, which cannot be utilized for production of aluminum,” she said.

“In addition, I would like to emphasize that the
acquired equipment is the property of RUSAL and
makes a part of modernization program that was
implemented from 2007 till 2012. RUSAL has put
around $US159.4 million of its own investments into the plant,” she added

But the workers said they were compelled to bring
the matter to public knowledge after reports to
government representatives on the Board of
ALSCON, including the Director General, Bureau of
Public Enterprises (BPE), Benjamin Dikki, and the
Deputy Director (Steel) in the privatization agency,
Mohammed Dikko, about the development at the
plant failed to yield any official reaction.

“It is clear UC RUSAL is totally determined to
cannibalise the plant and render it comatose so that
whoever takes over would not be able to put it to
productive use again,” the workers said. “We are
concerned, because ALSCON is not only our
inheritance, but also the place we earn our living.
The Federal Government must do all within its powers to halt this brazen sabotage of the nation’s economy.”

Following reports of the asset-stripping of the plant
by UC RUSAL, community youth under the platform
of ‘Mboho Ikot Abasi’ wrote to the Managing Director of ALSCON, Stanislav Kruglyashav, demanding to meet with him to express their concern, and request for opportunity to tour the facility to verify the allegations. But the request was turned down.

During the meeting, it was gathered that UC RUSAL
officials had said the dismantling and disposal of the Stem Rods, Anodes and Bussbar/Riser was to raise some funds to settle pressing financial issues, as the Russian government had since stopped sending subventions to RUSAL.
