That is my prayer for Op too. But saying that they should date for at least one year is what am totally objecting to. A good marriage is not measured by it longevity of years or months rather built under God's grace , mercy and love. Not because your are a pastor nor is it by how prayerful you are is by God's grace.

You think a good marriage is determined on how long you court right , grow up please. Her past life , spiritual life that is because you don't know that people change.
What about the young man here who caught his virgin girlfriend that he deflowered before he left for the city with his courses . What would you also say about some pastor wives that sleeps around .
A pastor who is an impotent but the wife was not aware about his impotency and she had three children for him from different men , being that the pastor was inquisitive about the out come of the children he took them for a DNA test , there he finds out that his wife has been sleeping around and yet she preaches in the church but she those not have the shame to confess to her pastor of a husband now the marriage is about to crash.
There are many homes that started well only to end badly we just need to the right thing and ask God for guidance that's all.
