HealthRe: Kaduna Bomb Blasts: Resident Doctors Summoned Amidst NMA Strike. by omicron(op): 8:38pm On Jul 23, 2014
The point is, doctors are still doctors, no matter how much you villify them, at your weakest point, they will still gladly be of help. It's an irony, when we castigate them at the slightest chance, yet they tend us at our hardest times

No one understands the Oath more than the doctor. Yet, everyone deserves their due.

HealthKaduna Bomb Blasts: Resident Doctors Summoned Amidst NMA Strike. by omicron(op): 8:00pm On Jul 23, 2014
An explosion occurred in central Kaduna, killing no fewer than 10 people. The blast occurred Wednesday afternoon along Isa Kaita roads.

The explosion is believed to have been targeted at the convoy of a prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, who was on his way to the Square.

In a swift reaction, a statement signed on behalf of the ARD President Kaduna was sent out directing all doctors around the central area of kaduna to assemble immediately at Barau Dikko Specialist hospital to attend to the injured and dying.

You would recall that Doctors in Nigeria have been on strike for over three weeks now with efforts to get them back to work not yet successful.

Hospital support staff should be content with their places within the hospital.

Beef, envy, jealousy and disrespect are hallmarks of the many amongst them who feel inferior.

RomanceRe: Can A Girl Be Friend-zoned? by omicron(m): 11:33am On Jul 22, 2014
AdmiralPato: Explain better pls. Benefits like?
Benefits = Romance = Sex

Women are emotional when they like men. Men can get physical even when they do not like women.

When both find themselves in situations which is incompactible with a committed relationship - but which still allows close association in the name of friends, or in the expectation of ''love to come'' by the woman - the interplay between the emotions of the woman and the physical but emotionally-deplete cravings of the man could result in some sexual or romantic 'benefits' for the man.

To the woman, with mind clouded by emotions, such benefits are seen as acts of intimacy. To the man, with heart devoid of emotions and prick hardened by base desires, they are fringe benefits.

Less commonly, both parties appreciate these benefits for what they are. wink

Love without money is like the proverbial word of God which fell upon thorns....it would want to thrive o, but SOON the worries, frustrations and inadequacies as well as myriad other problems of life will come and stifle its growth.

You need money to weed off such Thorns!

RomanceRe: What Is The Difference Between A Crush And Love? by omicron(m): 3:04pm On Jul 20, 2014
While crush is momentary, Love will past the test of time.

However, typically a crush is someone who you romantically fantasizes about, even when it appears impossible to have them.

If I begin to 'really' and deeply fantansize about Beyonce, for example, then it can be called a crush.

But not when I fantasize about you wink

RomanceRe: Can True Love Be Found Online? by omicron(m):
Whatever happens online could lead to love, as long it is human beings that you find online.

However, whatever happens exclusively online should not be ' the love', but rather acquaintancy.

Moreover, attraction, lust, infatuation - these things are easily mistaken for love, and they can easily be found online.

Real Love should happen offline....
RomanceRe: Girls And Sex by omicron(m): 12:42pm On Jul 20, 2014
Op has a point.

Some girls stop being and looking sexy once they become 'at home' with the guy, be it a relationship or marriage.

From a man's point of view, that can decrease intimacy between the couple. To many guys, a girl in panties is sexier than the girl who is totally naked.

It's a terrible blow with far reaching global consequences.
HealthFight Against HIV/AIDS Suffers Setback As 100 AIDS Researchers Die on MH17 by omicron(op):
As many as 100 of the world’s leading HIV/Aids researchers and advocates may have been on the Malaysia Airlines flight that crashed in Ukraine, in what has been described as a “devastating” blow to efforts to tackle the virus.
Delegates to a plenary session held ahead of the Aids 2014 conference were told that email exchanges showed about 100 attendees were booked on the MH17 flight. The plane was downed in eastern Ukraine by what the US and Australian governments have described as a surface-to-air missile.
There was no official confirmation of the number of researchers on board.
There were no survivors among the 298 people on the flight, which was bound for Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam. The Aids 2014 conference, due to start on Sunday, is being held in Melbourne.
“There’s a huge feeling of sadness here, people are in floods of tears in the corridors,” Clive Aspin, a veteran HIV researcher who attended the pre-conference plenary session in Sydney, told Guardian Australia. “These people were the best and the brightest, the ones who had dedicated their whole careers to fighting this terrible virus. It’s devastating.”
Prof. Richard Boyd, director of the Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories, told Guardian Australia he was "gutted" by the losses.
"There were some serious HIV leaders on that plane," he said. "This will have ramifications globally because whenever you lose a leader in any field, it has an impact. That knowledge is irreplaceable.
"We've lost global leaders and also some bright young people who were coming through. It's a gut-wrenching loss.

Most common cause is inadequate lubrication for the woman. More pre-intimacy will help. Artificial lubrication will help too.

But always see your doctor before practicing any medical advice.
EducationRe: 02 - Why Studying Medicine In Ukraine? by omicron(m): 12:17am On Jul 14, 2014
My interactions and experiences with a number of ukrained-trained doctors leave so much to be desired.

Some of them seemed to be at a level where I was when I was in early 3rd MB class (not to be immodest).

It appears to be the 'path of less resistance' towards obtaining a medical degree, rather than a genuine destination for quality medical education, esp for Nigerians.

SalC: Though I sense scarsm on the first post but then...
A Med lab scientist doesn't perform surgery, if you are running a private lab, you will have to prescribe drug but if you are working in a hospital, the doctors is expected to prescribe the drugs not you safe for the prescription of antibiotics after M/C/S because you will be the one to do the sensitivity test and read the clearance and or resistance rate. And going for ward round does hold much water, even a nurse and hospital care attendant does so with the doctors. No rules said a scientist shouldn't do so. Infact seeing the patients and how they are something aid the scientists, and based on their observations too, they can discuss better discuss the patient's condition with the doctors and the way forward. But in Nigeria where we have created a wide gap between the doctors and scientists, you hardly see such happen. And the patients are the ones who suffer as a result of this.
Lab scientists are not to prescribe drugs or treatments under any circumstance, including possible prescription of antibiotics after M/C/S sensitivity test. Being in Private Practice should not be an excuse.

Professional Ethics and the Law demands that such patients be referred to a doctor for further management.

Don't treat the Test results. Treat the patient.

Infact all doz villages along Nsukka rd is nothin to write home..no lite, no water, no road.. They ve nothing. Evn Fr. Mbaka said it.. He shldnt b performing on one side and expect me to praise him
According to you, he should do all the rural roads plus the city roads in 8yrs. I tell you, even when all the state allocation and IGR is used only for road reconstruction and creation, in 8 years, all the roads you can conceive cannot be built with it.

Not to mention that Sullivan did significantly and strategically well in rural development too, just that maybe the city works overshadow those of the rural works. And if you consider that sullivan's success is told mostly by the 'man on the street', then you'd see more possible reasons while his city works are the more spoken of in social media.

The guy has done exceedingly well, that is a consensus (and I don't mean that 100% of people believe so). Moreso, he has raised the height of minimum expectation the people may have from successive governments, in terms of actual service delivery as well as style of governance.

If only successive governments will work just as he has done...I pray they exceed him.
