Seeyat: Hello, Oga @justwise
Does it matter if my opening balance is is below #10k in the last 6 months, I've managed to save 1.100000 which includes the rent i get from my tenants or can i submit 5 months payslip? you can submit a five months payslip and bank statement, if that will improve the opening balance. Better than an opening balance of 10k. |

Is it necessary to include a flight reservation when applying for UK visit visa? It is not necessary. It does not increase your chances. |

Greatg0809: Can one apply for Uk visa with a 3months dorm acct, just like moni put aside for the trip No. You will need to show an active account showing you earn regular income, without unexplained deposits especially when said deposits are above your stated monthly income, and have enough money to cover the trip. |

MadameW: Good afternoon everyone, please I have two questions: 1) can I use my bank statement generated via my banking app for my U.K. visa application? Or does it have to be printed at the bank? 2) Do I have to upload my checklist on TLS portal? Thanks in advance. I haven't seen anyone who used app-generated statements. Get from the bank, duly signed and stamped. If you are doing self-service, checklist is part of the documents you should upload. |

Ucdavid111: Good morning, please i have a question based on this appointment for biometrics.since 26th of april, the agent doing my visa application said he is through with the application and has paid visa fee.he is now telling me since then till now that there is no free appointement except paid ones(premium).please is it possible not to book appointment since then and i recieved a mail saying we have only 60days.please help me out ,what will i do.is he telling me the truth? Sometimes dates with free appointments are not available as they have been fully booked (sometimes 3 weeks in advance) or TLS is yet to release such dates, in that case you either pay for premium or walk in. Only those who are currently at the stage of booking appointments will tell you when the free dates are, so you can ask anyone who just booked an appointment. |

Will payment be made before choosing date and biometrics venue?
Please help a brother.
Thanks Yes. Pay and you can then proceed to book appointment for biometrics. You would have selected the Visa Application Centre you will use at the beginning of the application, so in this case it should have been the VI VAC. |

dazzlingd: Seun should start conducting IQ test before people join nairaland, for goodness sake, what does this have to do with politics It has everything to do with politics and politicians when you consider that developed nations are as good as their laws and there implementations are. Public places won't start building their structures with the physically challenged in mind because we shout here or anything. They will do so if such becomes a law and the laws are implemented. Now, who make and implement laws? Politicians - who in this country are so irresponsible that even the people tend to forget why they vote them in. |

Thanks for your response. You are welcome. I was advising based on the experiences of many people who had similar circumstance as you do now, and also assuming that your visa is multiple entry and still valid. However, you can mail UKVI if you want. It Won't be an issue, I think. All the best |

I would advise you Cut the budget lower, book cheaper hotels on booking dot com, lower flight ticket budget. A little over 400k should do. |

DrOBD: @justwise and all the gurus in the house, I need your advise.
My wife and I applied for UK visitors VISA last December, to travel on 26th December 2018. The purpose of the trip was to visit a friend, spend the new year with his family and return on January 7th 2019. However, our VISA wasn't ready until the new year (2nd Jan 2019). We also stated that we will travel with our children who are Americans (but didn't apply for a VISA for them).
I have registered for a professional exams in March and should travel to UK end of February. Is there any need to send a mail to the UK embassy explaining my new purpose of visit and the duration.
If I decide to travel without mailing the consulate, will there be any consequences if I eventually appear alone in London (without my wife and children).
Thank you in anticipation of your response. It will not be a problem as your visa is valid at time of the exam. However in your next UK visa application you must explain why you didn't travel anymore with the kids, and how you booked for the exam since visa was valid and how you supported yourself if you stayed longer than you had proposed. |

smilz: Good morning house Please I'm disturbed about my application. I intend applying soon for a medical exam but being single, no travel history, no landed property plus the fact I'm the one sponsoring myself is getting me really scared.
I've attached birth certificates of my kid brothers, letter from my mother stating she's aware of my trip. I'll also attached bank statement, employment letter, etc. I have enough money to cover my trip but I know that's not the only thing they take into consideration.
I'm just worried about this ties back home. Please house what else can I add? Thanks Birth certificates of your brother is unnecessary unless they are your dependents. Your job is a good tie so supply your appointment letter, letter of introduction from your work place, payslips of last six months, if you can letter of Leave of absence from Work for the period, great. Then family pictures especially of your parents plus the letter your mom wrote. Then supply your invitation letter for the exam, all documents relating to the exam, all documents about your profession eg Licence or full registration, MBBS certificate for doctors. Then a clean account with adequate funds showing your salary. If you have landed property with good documents supply. With good job, clean account, adequate funds and documents for the exam and your profession they will give you the visa. |

alert20: Congratulations mam, I salute your courage and the waiting period (10months), at last it all ended in glory... That's all it takes to get UK visa. Patience. Take time to build your ties. Submit a clean account statement showing clearly your source of income as stated, explain all significant credits and debits, and keep budget as low as reasonable. All they want is that you have ties back home, you earned your funds legally and you will not run out of funds while in the UK. |

Enick: Hi Ekpotek.
I applied my UK visa but was refuse on the ground thag i did not mention how I got the fund in my fixed deposit account. Surprisingly this amount was fixed since January 2017 yet the ECo thinks the money would not be available for me.
What would your advise me to do? How soon should I reapply? Any significant income and expenditure you have must be explained adequately with enough evidence, otherwise ECO will assume the worst. If you can explain that the 6.9mil fixed was earned legally eg, Land sold, shares sold, etc, then ECO will sharply grant you visa. |

Orjforlife: Wow this is really surprising as i thought me being employed and having a stable and regular source of income was enough to show that i have economic ties to my country(quote author=olystic post=72184630]
This was the same refusal reasons I got from them when i applied. And after consulting with trusted travel agencies. I was told the bitter truth that if I decide to reapply anytime soon I will be refused again. Unless when my situation chance, like been married or buy shares, Bonds, Treasury Bills or buy lands with documents. So my advice for you is to leave the UK for now and explore countries within your reach. To know why you were refused despite regular salary flow and reasonable balance, one needs to know the budget of the trip. I suspect that's where the suspicion of the ECO must have come from despite having a stable job and a decent salary by Nigerian standard |

WAIFYVONNE: Good day, please i need advice. I graduated medical school in june this year, i plan on writing MDCN exams in April 2019. No here’s a lil challenge I’m having. I really don’t want to stay or practice in Nigeria, so I’m looking at taking the plab route to go work in the uk, skip writing MDCN exams. Meanwhile I’m married with a 2 year old kid. Please i need advice on this plan of mine. I don’t have any form of internship training so I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get an internship space in the uk after writimg plab1 if it’s possible I don’t know, before writing plab2. I really don’t know how this works. Meanwhile i intend going with my kid . Pls someone should help by putting me through. Thanks Hello, congratulations on completing medical school. Unfortunately I would not recommend the plan you currently have. It is not possible to get internship position in the UK with just PLAB 1. You need to pass PLAB 2 to be eligible to apply for that position in the UK. However, it is very difficult to secure FY1 post (housemanship/internship) in the UK as the slots are not even easy for UK and EU-trained doctors to secure. I would advise you write MDCN exam in Nigeria, get Nigerian provisional license, then do your house manship in Nigeria here before leaving for the UK. That way, you start off in UK as an FY2 (1 year post houseman ship) by providing your Nigerian Housemanship certificate to the UK General Medical Council. Remember to decide whether you want to do NYSC if you graduated before 30 years of age. Again, I would advise you leave after doing your NYSC because of future issues should you return to Nigeria to work. NYSC though is not required to practice in the UK. All the best. |

DrAwo: Any thougths on this? Will appreciate some guidance please... Thanks Your budget is good. Total balance you should have depends. Rough estimate is x3 of your budget but some have gotten visa for Plab 2 with just x2. The more money the better. Most important thing is that your account is clean with no irregular expenses or incomes. If there are, explain in detail in a separate "explanation of finances" letter. Keep the application simple. Do not mention academies. All the best. |
