Hello please dear Oakbend Mummies using or have used Dr E of Hope Women's Clinic.

I've tried severally to reach the office through the number I've always used but I keep getting the voicemail. Can someone please please send me Dr E's contact details. The last time we were able to speak to someone we were told Laurie (Office Manager) no longer worked there and she handled my appointment, etc

My email add is onyinye.cfl@gmail.com

Please it's urgent. Thanks a lot.
Send email, the new person will respond.

About 4,000 in total.. but I don't think they do it anymore...a friend said they had stopped the package
Yes I know about d package, just wondering that the VO said its high. Someone spent 5500 in total and she said here that the VO said that amount is low and assumed Gov must have paid part of the bill

Hello Everyone,
So hubby, my son and I just got our Visa approved today but ehn it wasn't easy oo...
Find below the conversation between us and the VO
VO: Hello good afternoon, sorry for keeping you waiting
Hubby: Its fine thank you
VO: Can I have your passports please
Hubby: Gave him
VO: he looked through it and was like okay, where are you going to, how long will you be dere for and where will you be staying
Hubby: 2 week, Chicago and with my uncle
VO: I See you travelled in November last year why and for how long
Hubby: Stated everything( hubby for 2 weeks and myself and son for 4 month- We went for a family vacation and we stayed back to have my daughter
VO: At your interview in June 2015 you said you were going for 2 weeks and not seeking medical attention
Hubby: At the time we didn't know we were pregnant as i was still breastfeeding my son..so we just wanted to go for holiday. When we found out I fell ill and couldn't travel so we all decided to travel in November and I sent a change of Intent to notify the ambassy
VO: WELL THE CHANGE OF INTENT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE
me: Oh really.. i didn't know
VO: When did you have your daughter
Me: xx feb 2016
VO: Counting the number of months with his fingers to reconfirm what I said( At this point I was thing chai wahala dey o)
Where did you have you daughter and can i have her passport pls
Me: Cook county hospital John Stroger
VO: Can I have proof of that please
Me: Hands over all receipts, zero balance and invoices
VO: Who was your doctor
Me: Dr xxxxx, then I handed over the records of all my antenatal visits with her ( I kept everything oo thank God)
VO: Looks through the receipts and exclaimed whao so expensive, what about the dr's fee..
Me: I explained that it was all encompassing( John stronger has a package for self pay.. I dunno if they have anymore but the cost was about small for dr, birth and pead so I showed him the breakdown)..in my mind I was like expensive ke... great bargain oo.. I just kept quiet
VO: Kept on writing and writing. he asked hubby and my self what we do and where we work..
Hubby and I answered
VO: Where else have you travelled to:
Hubby: Hajj last year,
VO: Asked me if I went with him..
Me: I said I didn't coz I was still breast feeding my daughter at the time...
VO: OKAY.. typed for another like 3 -4mins...
Handed over our documents and said we should pick our visa..
VO: Please when next you are going to birth abroad please you need to get a medical visa, the change of intent does not go into your individual files do we don't have records of such.Sending it does not make a difference you have to schedule a new interview for medical visa
Me and Hubby: Okay we will do
Thank God we got it oo.. glad I said the truth and I am truly happy.

Please i need you advise. I travelled in nov 2015 and had my baby in Cook county hospital Chicago. In February 2016. left USA in march 2016. You should have applied via a face-to-face interview but now they are asking u to come for that. I hope u get d chance to explain and they have d heart to listen. Good luck!
I think you should just tell her what to expect instead of this your reply that has no basis.Everyone has his/her own circumstance and would want to explore the dropbox option if qualified.

Pls help me out. I have been traveling to the US. And at some point I was eligible for drop box. So I have been renewing my Visa by drop box. But I had my baby in the US last year on a running Visa. Since I did not inform US immigration when I was renewing my Visa that I was pregnant, I had to tell the immigration officers at entry point that I was going to give birth. And they allowed me to enter when they checked and saw that I had enough money to pay for the delivery. I paid all my bills and have my zero balance. But now I want to renew my visa for the first time after giving birth, I am pregnant again so I applied for medical visa by drop box and I was invited for a follow-up interview. I don't know what to expect at the follow up interview.
Just scroll up a little and see some posts conerning recent trend in visa renewal espcially for childbirth. Yours would be that you didnt inform VO at interview point. However, some ppl got theirs renewed afterwards. Go with your itemized invoice and zero balance statements. It will end in praise!

Seems its best to jst book an interview since u can waive the dropbox right and appear at the counter jst like LI and his wife did.
I agree with you. My location was my problem then so I decided to explore the dropbox since i beleive I have not err in anyway.

Yes i did...mentioned it...they just stamped our passports and told us to go..asked if we had food or alcohol..we had just baby food so we were cleared.

Didnt spend 5mins with the POE...i was even surprised.

When we arrived at atl airport, they directed all pple with small kids or pregnant to the priority check in so we had to enter our details ourselves into a screen..i think citizens too used the same screen..

We were totally cleared and we stated our intent...
So surprised at the interview call.
Inviting ppl for interview isnt a new thing anymore so dont be surprised. If you read some pages backwards, youll see various scenarios of ppl who declared, paid, and didnt overstay yet called for interview, i'm awaiting mine too. Got our visas for birth purpose and paid all bills. DH was granted at dropbox while i was asked to schedule interview. Just gather your documents and pray. wish us d best!

Hello everyone,
I am a silent reader, I got into DFW on the 29th of Oct., the queue was something else. I almost collapsed. I went through the first stage where you will do passport reading.

Then I processed to pick my luggage and face the CBP guy.

CBP: How long are you here for?
Me: Till Christmas
CBP: You're pregnant?
Me: Yes
CBP: Do you have family?
Me Yes
CBP: place your finger here.
CPB: Do you have food
Me: yes. The guy stamped me in for 6 months. Nothing was checked nor ceased.

POE was breeze, I am sitting pretty and waiting for my LO. Please pray for me and the day drwas really close. My doctor wanted to induce labor but I refused and my due date is still far away.

Please any Dallas mum in the house, boredom is killing me here.

God bless...

No one gets one itemized bill. Remember you have to pay each service provider separately: Doctor, Oakbend, Brown and Associates, NICS, Anaesthetics, etc. Each of these guys would give you separate itemized billing of their charges.

Hope this clarifies
Clear now, thank you very much.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Omodadi2: 10:38am On Dec 07, 2017
LI:
15k was the total expenses for the trip. Medical expenses alone was 8k.

The itemized billing should sum up to a "zero value" if you settled your bill in full, that's why it's referred to as a "zero balance". It would typically include discounts granted by the hospital (if you got any). In addition, you can request the doctor/hospital write a letter of non-indebtedness on your behalf. If you didn't access any medical aid, the letter should say so. If you received any quotations before accessing the services, please include those as well.
So you got an itemized bill for the 8k? I see you used Oakbend, and i did too, this is why I am trying to get info from you. Sorry for my wahala.

Caveat: This is the longest Nairaland post you will ever read in your life. grin

We had our interview in Lagos. Appointment time, 6:30am. Even though we qualified for dropbox, we decided to opt for an interview instead. This was due in part to our wanting to avoid a follow-up interview which many here seem to justifiably dread. Scheduling a face-to-face was an inconvenience but a minor one compared to what could be as there was still a chance we would be required to book appointment for a follow-up interview; an appointment which, according to Fyorgyn is not likely will be expedited. Worse still, if only one of us was issued a visa with the other getting the 221g. DW and I wanted to be together so we agreed to waive our rights to apply under the dropbox programme. It is worth noting that we had to initiate two emergency interview requests before it was finally granted; the first was thrown out with a message that, ours was not a real emergency.

On a day there was so much fuel scarcity, it amazed me to see a sea of people arrive early at the consulate. By 7:15am the VOs had taken their seats. We were directed to Window 2 right behind a young woman who was having a go at her 4th attempt for an F1 visa. I know this because she seemed to be familiar with the security ops outside; I heard parts of their conversations.

Me: Good morning
VO: Good morning. How are you?
Me: Very well, thank you. How are you?
VO: Very well. She smiled back. Can I have your passports?
Me: Sure. There you go, as I slid our passports through the opening at the foot of the window.
VO: What’s the reason for your planned visit?
Me: I am attending a company program in New York, while my wife here will be in Texas to have our baby. I will be joining her from New York a week after I arrive.
VO: Okay. What’s your budget for this trip?
Me: 20k. We have our budget estimates here if you would like to see.
VO: Sure. Can I see that?
I slipped the budget sheet, correspondence with doctor, as well as anticipated bill all neatly labelled towards to the VO. She wasted no time whatsoever in scanning through contents of the documents.
VO: What do you do?
Me: I am a Service Manager at blah blah blah
VO: For how long have you worked in this role
Me: 6 years
VO: What do you do for --? She repeats the name of my employer.
I give a 20s elevator pitch of my functions.
VO: Have you attended a similar training in the past?
Me: Many, including in San Francisco.
VO: How long did you stay during you last visit?
Me: 3 weeks. 1 week in SF, 2 with my family in Houston.
She continued clicking on her computer for a few more seconds.
VO: How about you, what do you do? This time, she was addressing the fine lady who stood with me.
DW: I’m a School Teacher at blah blah blah
VO: What do you teach?
DW: This, this, plus that.
VO: Are you using the same facility as before?
DW: Yes
VO: What’s your doctor’s name?
DW: Dr Fagbohun
VO: Is this your second child?
DW: Yes
VO: For how long were you there for your first?
DW: 7 weeks
VO: And where did you stay during this period?
DW: Intown Suites
VO: Do you have anyone in the US?
DW: No
VO: Did you get anything for payments you made from the hospital the last time
Me: We did. I knew she was referring to the itemized billing with other stuff so proceeded to handover the thick stack of breakdown of all the expenses incurred (15k in total), letters of non-indebtedness from hospital, another from doctor, bills from all the service providers, every single receipt for payments made, itemized billing.

The pile of paper was thicker than a Brazilian Butt Lift yet the VO meticulously read through each page. To be honest, I was glad she did as the letters included specific wordings like, “bill was settled in full”, “the state of Texas or any other government agency has not picked up any part of the bill”. The bills we received also included phrases like, “International family”, "discounts granted for self-pay, non-insured patients only", "discounts only applicable if payment is made by date X".

When she got to the section with the itemized billing, I reckon she could understand the reason for the discounts applied.

VO: What are your incomes?
We mentioned our monthly pay.
VO: Is your child travelling with you?
Me: They will be travelling together while I join them later.
VO: That’s fine
She resumed typing for another one minute or so

Funny how before you approach a window, you seem to hear what everyone else in the room is saying but can almost only hear your blood coursing through your veins as soon as it’s your turn with the VO.

VO: I am going to approve your visas. This paper here details how you can pick-up after you have received a message from us. She passed the white paper through the window after circling the DHL office we would be picking up our passports. She also returned our documents. Make sure you have this with you when travelling as you will be asked again at the point of entry. Congrats.
Us: Thank you.

I was impressed by the quality of work put in by the VO. I believe she had a memorable time with us too because when I said, “Have a beautiful day”, she flashed her beautiful white thirty-two, then replied, “You too”.

All the best to everyone still anticipating, congrats to everyone celebrating. Apologies if I wore you out with my lengthy post. grin

P.S. The lady who went before us, the one who was at her 4th attempt for an F1, she got her visa. I am happy she did. I learnt a new level of persistence from her story. We all should.
Long but interesting, congratulations.

Okay thanks for that internship and nysc tip, I was beginning to get scared for that part too.

Also pls ehn, now that I read that the proof of fund can’t be money borrowed or something like that, what if I have a sponsor cos the money in my account can’t fund the process? Can that pass for that requirement?

Also shey when I get my PR eventually, then I can start thinking of registering with pebc for the licensing exams et al? Or I must have registered in the EE process?
Yes you can have a sponsor, but the funds must be transfered to your account and a gift deed prepared. I'll say you shouldnt worry, when you get to that beidge, ull cross it. Moreso as you find urself deep in the process, u understand more.

Yes, you get ur PR and get there to start writing your licensing exams.

Hello everyone, well done guys and congrats to those who have scaled through successfully. I bless the day I stumbled on this page in the course of my inquiries. Anyway, I have been reading through and it's been such a looooong read and I'm not even half done.
Okay, I'm at the initial stage of the migration intent and now I'm stuck.

First of, I studied pharmacy, just completed my nysc and now intend to commence the relocation processing. Which of the methods is better, faster or recommended.....express entry or applying for masters?. Also, if it's EE, at what stage does the pebc registration come in? before the ECA?And again, Should I write IELTS 1st or just begin the ECA regardless? cos I saw somethings about boosting one's CRS scores and a lot of steps.

And if it's via masters, I've read that it's an advantage to write IELTS cos it may come in handy later but then in this case, it is the Academic type that is acceptable while for EE, it's the General IELTS.

Pls epp me
Hello Rosheedat, welcome to the thread.
With my own little knowledge, I will recomend EE cos its a more real migration process. After applying for masters and fulfilling all the criteria needed, you may be denied visa. However, once you follow the procesures for EE, your migration dream will come to pass.

As for the steps, commence your credential assessment while you prepare and write IELTS. You need both to enter the pool, and your intenship and NYSC can be your work experience. Wish you all the best!

Oga Twoods. People who earn illegally will hardly want to seek this dual citizenship opportunity for their children. This is because they can also make more money to secure a future for their children without accessing childbirth tourism. They dont need good education for such or what do you think?

Congratulations Mellchii, your transcript confirms that you dont have to have all funds you meed for the trip before your interview, it all depends on your income/monthly inflow.

That bin said, pls who has gotten an itemized receipt from Oakbend that include all services? hosp, doctor, baby, epidural, etc. Do they give this?

Also the one that shows only the zero balance letter followed by some itemized cost and the self paid option I have seen, is this okay?

Where do u plan to stay? if its with the doctor or hospital, then tell them it is. But I doubt your doctor or hospital is accomodating you.

If you have bin reading here, you would have seen how to get an accomodation bokked for your stay, there are sevearal options. Concierge services, intown suite, airbnb, booking.com etc.
