I personally feel 5months is late to start this journey, however if you get your visa within a month, its ok.

Applying alone or with your family depends on you and understanding available, but i think you shd apply alone to boost your home ties (ur file serves as your tie to Nigeia)

As for what you need to apply, traditional from the begining of this thread, you'll find details or you check on the Canada tourist visa thread. However, pls state your true intention during application so you art send back at POE even if you eventually got a visa.

You can also try USA simultaneously ad a plan B.

I advice you get invitation letter from the conference organisers, including letter of release or nomination to attend the conference by your organization, they you also add your payment receipt when submitting your application. All of them work together.

Hmmm, is been a long time I posted here last. So am back in Houston for my second missionary journey. Qatar airline didnt carry me at 35weeks and 2days but i eventually bought airfrance and came in through them.

I went to secondary inspection and my receipts for doctor, hospital and accommodation were checked. They also checked my receipt for my daughter's birth. I was also taken to agriculture but nothing was taken from my bags.
Though I have changed my doctor and hospital because of the increment in hospital bill of methodist that I used the last time

Pls house, mamas who have travelled with Etihad, do they require fit to fly from ur doctor or port health? I am scheduled to travel with Etihad in few days time, not to US and not heavily pregnant but visibly pregnant - 2nd trimester. I dont want unnecessary delays, do you suggest i get a fit to fly from my hospital stating the info required in a medical cert as stated on their website or just wait till i want to check-in, probably they send me to port health. I have been trying their numbers to confirm but not connecting.

On that port health, please, how early do they open, because its an early morning flight? Thanks for your responses.

They just asked how much I paid at delivery and if I was going for medicals. Visa was ready the next day.

Hi, the refusal letter already says a lot. The VO wants to know why you are visiting Canada. Apparently, s/he wasn’t convinced. Once again, if a whole family is embarking on a holiday, it concerns a VO why this trip must be to canada and not somewhere else so the onus is then greater on the applicats to convince a VO.
First, your child is a US citizen and doesn’t need a visa to go to canada. The VO knows this and the burden on you then becomes greater. If you travel with your husband and child, what is there to come back to really. If the visa is issued, things can be sold. Understand that a lot of people apply for PR via express entry from Nigeria and the VOs see the trends. They see people with so many belongings here migrating so it would be wise that in your next application, after reviewing and addressing GCMS concerns, to mention the immigration schemes and point out that you are not interested in them and use your landed properties and maybe second family to attach yourself more. Honestly, your documents look ok but I’m not a VO and these Canadian VOs are trained to see through an application without sighting an applicant.
Secondly, I’m not sure the applying alone route is advisable but I guess you can try. You already filled a family IMM form and your husband and child are contained there. The VOs have documentation already of your family so if you apply alone, even if it’s issued by the time your husband applies, it may then be refused because the VO will clearly see what you’re trying to do. Anyway, follow your heart but first obtain and review your gcms notes. Best of luck

The only difference now is that when filling the DS 160, there is a last page that requires one to upload a picture. Previously one could bypass this step and bring a hard copy.

Now, it is compulsory to upload a picture, and also bring hard copies along when submitting.

Mine took 4 days.

Good morning everyone here. I sincerely need ur advice on my case pls. I applied for tourist visa and was denied after 3months. Application was online and I applied with my husband and baby who we birth in US sometimes ago. We have a valid US visa and dts d only travel history we've got. Denial reason reads ' I'm not convinced you wil return home based on the 'Purpose of visit' and this conclusion was reached because 'you dnt have sociology economic ties'


I am considering applying alone ds time via paper route after whc my husband will do. However, i dont know what else to add to the documents I'll be submitting after ds ones we also submitted that time.

Dr F and oakbend, from the price list he sent me, he seem to have brought his fees down from what it was in 2015, though oakbend have increased theirs slightly.

The information on this thread is valuable. Like I was surprised, I applied last week 19th online early hours and did biometrics same day,got request for org.passport over the weekend and passport back today valid 2019.
All I attached was same as overlord77 application mentioned on this thread,whom I read his profile and followed same as well as other infor on the thread.I also read the student thread as well to understand the application requirements.

Not sure you still all come here, but my concern now is that I am still not clear about the citizenship status of a child born in Canada by a visitor who works with an international organization. At first, I thought its only when you work in canada for an international organization that your child isnt eligible, later I read again o this same thread that even if you are on a business trip and deliver your baby, he/she isn't a citizen. Can someone help clarify this? Thanks.

We applied via online because of our location thinking we would then prepare to travel for biometrics. But to my surprise, we were invited for biometrics same day. Submitted around 12am and got message at 2.30am and got hope.

Hi Ekinado. The Canadian government, to the best of my knowledge, don't have a dropbox option. this is offered by the US government to returning applicants. all applicants do a normal application for first issue or renewal.
To answer your question, you can apply with a passport with 8 months validity but why stress? the Canadian government, unlike the US and UK, would not issue a visa sticker with a validity beyond that of your passport so why not renew the passport first and if you impress the VO, you could get a 5yr visa.
