during my freshman year, a classmate whose mom was from nigeria was telling us of her experience. she was having a good time with her AA bf in their home when her mama came in. they heard her so the guy jumped up and ran into the bathroom to hide. she sat on the bed but the mom was asking her what just happened here? who was here? the gal was saying she told her nobody. but the mama asked her if she is fooling her own mother that she could feel the smell and was shouting on her voice, lol she added that the mom went to the kitchen, took the wooden stuff they use to make Amala or pounded yam and went straight into the bathroom, the guy was there but dodge her and ran out. i personally told her that wasn't good to bring in a guy into their home. we all laughed at it. she still joke abt it with us, it was really funny to her and all of us. well, i think mothers have that instinct, i think a typical nigerian mother will beat the hell out of the child or verbally abuse the child. it will really not be easy for mom to catch their daughters, it is every mother's wish for their daughter to be chaste. |

Nigeria should make affordable car so that at least each family can have a car. improve the road and create Road Signs. |
i think the live one stinks, but who can tell after it has been slaughtered, so you might have eaten it many times and still eating it mubowa. |
my most scariest, I was learning to drive and then i hit on the gate of the high school i was learning in. i was sooooooooo terrified i never laid hand on a car again. spent about 7,000 fixing the front of the car (insurance paid). i started again this year because i really don't have a choice. using the side mirror and seeing other cars behind me send my heart racing even Nl can hear it, sigh! make una pray along with me ooo, i need to get my license in less than 2mons time. |

i didn't even know when 18 came cuz i was so busy asking moi self ''ask not what Nigeria will do for you, but what you can do for moi self" ![]() |
how to cope? no other way my sister more than to LEAVE. someone will come that will be for you and treat you like a LADY that you are, not one that will be hitting your head on the wall and begging you later, only to do it again. Ndipe is right, it's toxic and not healthy for you dear. |
@ OP, Try talking to your man that it's best to move out to start a new life with you as couples. It's going to be really hard but keep praying and trying. Be prepare to make tough choices too, you both move out or you leave (last option if you can't bear your inlaw's presence). the fault is your guy's you know. That home i presume is his mother's or family home. |
