FashionRe: Why Do Women Of African Descent Relax/perm Their Beautiful Hair by omoge(f): 2:26pm On Apr 06, 2007
My hair:

mine is an average hair and since living here, my hair has been acting up. Of recent, i cut off my hair. it is growing already and so far it's been sooooo hard and painful combing it, sigh. But then i have decided not to use relaxer at least for the rest of this year JAN-DEC but maybe braid and see what difference my hair would make. It's pricey here trying to make/maintain your hair at the salon. the senegalese charge abt 180-250 dollars to do the hair, braiding or twisting, na wah ooooo.

i met an african american lady she got a very straight hair and so soft. we started blah blah about hair. i found out she wasn't using Relaxer. she said she does it for 62 dollars. that what her stylist does is to shampoo, condition and then use hot comb/hot iron, that she's been wearing her hair for a while like that. i asked her if it stays that way always, she said ye. but that whenever she wash it, it looks afro but soft. until she uses hot iron, hot comb, etc and it looks straight again,

my question is if one can use those method to make the hair looks like it's being relaxed? at least soft (which is all our goals). what are the pros and cons of having a straight hair without using Relaxer? I'm thinking of going this way of making this afro like, hard and kinky hair of mine soft, smiley

Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Urgent! Where Are The Take Home To Mama Ladies? by omoge(f): 8:40pm On Apr 04, 2007
quote you: @Omoge, what do you mean that 'i ve not finish', for your information i am a telecom engineer so that answer your question.

It is sad that most of the ladies nowadays are into different runs, some are following the aristos, some are professional prostitute, LovePeddler and some just because they want to catch fun are into different relationship.
Please tell me is there any other lady that is decent enough for me to take home to mama.
Please apply!

so i said you've not finished cuz something is missing from your list above and which is: some ladies just want to go to college and get a degree
not all are into what you listed.

cheers.

If you are a real ogbologbo Nigerian, you won't be asking what Smokin garri means. Just like I wouldn't ask oyinbo what Smokin gun means,

CultureRe: Africa As Seen On TV In The US by omoge(f): 3:17am On Apr 04, 2007
@ Ayeisha, am not sure what you are trying to say or you just trying to be defensive,

the thing is the way they present it is kind of RUDE. When they are presenting their own programs with nudity, there is always star or circle to cover that nude area.
but Discovery channel, Travel and geograpy channel don't do that when presenting show about what some white guys went to film in remote Africa countries.
I was watching a program (educative ?? I doubt it) they showed the african men dancing in the Nude, bare young ladies and children etc. That wasn't fair.

CultureRe: Why Must Nigerians Abroad Marry Nigerians? by omoge(f): 2:31pm On Apr 03, 2007
hmmmmmmmm Aiyesha,

You just have to understand that even in Nigeria, parents don't always agree if their son is going out with a lady from another tribe in their state or another state. Not to talk of from another country. But many time love conquers all. So if you really love your man, continue to be good to them. With time they will understand and leave you both alone. And if they don't show any understanding, it is left for you and your man to decide what you guys both want.

stay  cool
