Just because they are cheating us in oil business doesn't mean we have to beat them as MUGU to the game. In the long run, it's us as nigerian pple and our beloved country that is hurt.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by omoge(f): 12:19pm On Apr 14, 2007
Let's fight this crime and criminals by making a difference. Let's make a difference wherever we are. It's hurting us. After showing all this, at the end of the day it's our image that is hurt. no one will like to do business with us, no new investor in nigeria. we aren't helping matter you know because we fight each other. there are far too much problem in nigeria already (no water, no light, no good road etc) and to add scam, that we are crooks calling hard working people MUGU to the list is a disaster. everyone is warned not to do business with nigerians because of the high risk. what a thing. they claim it is the problem in nigeria but some of those who left the country are also into dirty business oversea too. it's eating deep, 419, aged people scam, wheel chair scam, insurance scam, disable crime and scam, hospital scam, motor vehicle scam, identity theif (affected my cousin), credit card thief, (affected my best friend), just name it, just name it, pointing fingers isn't going to help us. let's preach  HONESTY and TRUSTWORTHY in all we do. I'm sure many yahoo boyz are here on Nairaland.

Thanks to the news media, NO Place to Lay. Do It and You will Be Caught, no place to lay.

i know it is easy for us to think the victims were gullible. those fancy words of the crooks, if not because most of us are vast with Nigeria affairs, am sure we will easily fall preys too. it's so easy to fall for those kind of things unless you've been hearing stories. many of the Americans still don't know scams exist. but their media is helping them out, thanks to CNN, OPRAH, ABC, FOX, Texas news etc and the host of others,

I won't put blame on the lady who bought wedding dress and went to the airport to wait for her prince charming. afterall she thot she was in love.
we should try to make a difference wherever we are.

i get those crookish letter at least once a week from south Africa, china, India etc. but am sure they are Nigerian and i delete it. i get it again and delete it, then the 3rd time i get it, i write them ''Stop writing me or else i will forward the letter to FBI and they will fish your head out wherever you are and you will be shot in the head'' that put a stop to it. and then the following week, i get another again with different name.

well, i thank goodness that now people will be careful when they get such letter. it's an eye opening for everyone.

the sad thing is the image of the country.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by omoge(f): 2:13am On Apr 14, 2007
I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelt soooooooooooo sad watching Oprah this evening, it was sooooooo horrible that i was short of word and ashamed. We all know who Oprah is, she believes in hard work and honestly. and we all know she has a very large audience, all around the globe. today's show really made me so sad that Nigerian have really spoil that country, seeing Oprah using that hausa word MUGU, i weep for motherland. she kept saying ''america is their mugu, that's the world Nigeria 419 use to describe their victims, but you know what, they are not really mugus, but its the crookish nigerians that are mugu. many of us are hard working now when you tell your america friends you really accomplish things yourself, they will never believe you, I think Oprah's show today is worst than CNN's documentary last month about 419.

and her last word, don't write us letters telling us nigerians are good, i interpreted that to mean, 'we know better so don't bother to write that you pple are good'' sad sad sad  sad

it hurts what the bad apples have done to our image.

ComputersRe: Dirty Pictures On Office Computers by omoge(f): 5:40pm On Apr 13, 2007
This reminds me of my first internship. The supervisor was telling us story of another supervisor who was looking at dirty pictures on the office computer. Many dirty pictures were opened and then the computer frozed, lol. she had to call in the help desk to come help her out, but then the other workers already saw those pictures  grin the story was passed on as a warning to others.

I think it's not good to use business computer to browse/surf the net.

FamilyRe: My Husband Is So Attached To His Mother by omoge(f): 8:08pm On Apr 12, 2007
a lady was telling us sometime ago of her experience. her mother inlaw has 2 children oversea. it's only the one in the US that the mother inlaw is always bugging to come take her abroad. she was always listening to her on the phone bugging to be taken abroad. so she now tells her husband, who was trying to say i want to bring her. she said she told him, fine. but it is a must you buy 2 tickets. one for her own mother and one for his mother, she said she told her husband the marriage is about herself and him not only him alone. she asked what is she coming to do? she said the mama say she is coming to rest ha!.  the other one oversea has kids that might even keep her occupied but she want to go to her son's place (they don't have kids yet), she said she want to come rest, we all laughed.

i don't know but i think mother inlaw like pestering their sons marital life than their daughter. me thinks maybe mother inlaw feels sons have more power in marriage than daughter,

Poster, I hope your husband is the type that listens to their ladies. I wish you well in the life and marriage that is yours. remeber, it's about you and him, nothing else cheesy

TravelRe: Only In America: Share your bizzare news item. by omoge(f): 7:40pm On Apr 12, 2007
lol, it's very interesting, Only In America, grin

I'm not sure an African woman could do that. To cut off your man private and then throw it out into the bush, na wah o!! it really interest me hearing Kurtis presenting it. I was all clued to the tv, lol.

Oh wait! a woman bite her husband's private off in kenya, read that on BBC some years ago. so it's spreading like wild fire how they deal with their man, either cut of the thing or send him to the beyond. I think the abuse melted on women plays a bigger role in many of them taking care of business themselves.

I was really shocked to hear Lorretta Bobbitt making a speech with all smiles on her face it's like "I cut it off and I WON" lol

really sad, what the guy went on to do with his life and the private they sew back, lol

TravelRe: Only In America: Share your bizzare news item. by omoge(f): 3:25am On Apr 12, 2007
And i was watching A&E yesterday about the woman who cut off her husband's private.

husband came back from work, wanted to make love but wife did not show interest. Husband said he rolled off her and slept. he got up again and wanted it but wifey still not interested. he rolled off and slept. wifey not happy because she believe husband not satisfying her and being abusing her. she was angry because hubby was drunk too. she ran to the kitchen took a knife and once in the bedroom, she cut it off.

she said she saw the bleeding and ran to her car. after driving for a while, she saw the cut private and screamed. she threw it away,

it took police some hours to find the private in the bush path.

meanwhile, husband was screaming and there were blood everywhere. he ran downstairs and was taken to the hospital. he survived, police found his private and he underwent a 9hours surgery to put it back, Only In America.

the wife won the case, she claimed she was raped by her husband and was being abused by him too. though no evident of rape as the spe*m in her was few days old, the hospital reported.

she is Loretta Bobbitt.

my sister Only In America ooo. Woman power abi?  undecided

PS: I don't know if the story can be found online as I watched it on the famous Justice TV, A&E
but google ''Lorretta Bobbitt" for more read.
FashionRe: Hair Relaxers: Kit Or Cup? by omoge(f): 3:07am On Apr 12, 2007
ire funke, you are correct. it's costly to go to the salon. i go to jc penny to do my hair (that was before i cut it) man! that wasn't funny for a student. am thinking of twist, that's costly too.

i saw a lady who has straight hair she did not use relaxer, if you should see her hair, it looks like she use relaxer but did not. i'm yet to be clear how she really came abt that. she talked abt her hair dresser using hotcomb and hot iron, can anyone comment on this?

Lagos pple do come to ibadan to buy garri, anyone heard of the famous Ojoo market, lots of lagos pple there, all came to buy the king in ibadan, i'm not sure though if there is anywhere as popular as Ibadan for garri,

kpo kpo is too smooth, don't really like it. Sour garri good to smoke, yellow good for eba gbona gbona,

my grandmother love 1day garri, peeled today, grate and jacked today and then fried today, not good for smoking or you end up with efo (stomach problem)

All Hail the King, GARRI.
