First of all, how can you tell me how many people are infected when you're not testing a large population? In the past year towards the tail end of 2019, how many foreigners, especially of Chinese origin, entered the country when the disease was only known to be within the Chinese border without being tested? How many people in Nigeria have died in the last couple of months without the medical examiner stating or people knowing the actual cause of death? Can you answer the above questions in the affirmative? I do not think so. So, please don't tell me that Nigeria can state unequivocally how many cases of corona virus is actually in the country.

For you to have the strength to type here on Nairaland means you are healthy and not infected, right?.Maybe you are outside the country. Now, If you believe so many Nigerians are infected and have gone unnoticed by the govt and society, then how come you are not part of the statistics, since you are not an island? .
You go out and mingle with friends and families..you go to work every day and mingle with your colleagues, you enter public buses and seat with strangers .You must have touch a thousand stair rails, door knobs,car doors and other items that are outside your house, which must have been touched by different people..How come you are not down with corona.? Please, do not belittle you kind, just because you feel inferior of who you are. Did it ever occurred to you that the reason there is no wide spread infection of this virus across Africa/ Nigeria could be as a result of the low traffic of people from all over the world just as it were with the western countries?
Secondly, it could be that due to our hot and humid weather could be responsible for the low rate of infection from person to person.They said the virus does not do well in hot and humid weather just like ours.
Thirdly, it might be that we Africans have a higher resistance against this virus just like we did with SARS ( which has not been proven though) that is why there are not so many blacks across the world who are victims of this corona virus. And the only African that was infected in China recovered shortly.
You are quick to put down your country for not be vigilant, for you believe that by now, hundred of people must have had the virus in their hundreds and have been dying silently unnoticed by govt and the society. Really??
You equally expecting the usual news of Africans/Nigerians dying in their hundreds and waiting for the international community to come to their aid due to our poor medical facilities .isn't it.? You believe that if any thing bad is happening around the world and it does not affect Africa/Nigeria the way it is expected to, then is something wrong some where.
Corona virus is here in Nigeria , it might affect few people but it will not be an epidemic as you expect it to, be so deal with it..if you so wish to be part of the statistics, then you can find your way to Yaba and get yourself infected so that you can be the second victims. purge yourself from mental slavery and stop watching CNN & BBC , they have a way of messing up you psychic as regard to how you should view the world and Africa.

When have sub-Saharan African countries been able to keep an accurate tab of events in their countries? It should be no surprise that there are more infections than are been reported. These countries can't even accurately tell you their human population to talk of their diseased or infected population. African countries are a joke!

So because Nigeria cannot tell the number of our population in her country, does not mean we are oblivious of our environment. When Lasser fever came and was killing people, didn't we take note of it and measure were put in place to see how it can be curbed (beside this disease emanated from Nigeria).That does not mean the effort of the govt is good enough, for by now it is supposed to have been tackled. When Ebola came, we knew it was Ebola and worked together to see it was contained.
Nigerian is not a proactive country that I know. Our govt have this nonchalant attitude to serious things that are suppose to be taken seriously which we hate them for. But don't tell me that we do not know when we have epidemic on our hands that is happening around us.
If Corona had infected many people and have gone unnoticed since it came, dont you think by now we would have been having several infected cases and deaths all around us from cities to cities and states to states? we are many things but certainly not dumb or too stupid to know what is happening around us.

Corona virus is real... I am presently in China and I know what how china is suffering from this pandemic. I just hope it doesn't spread in Nigeria and I hope our health facilities would be up to the task. A lot of people have died in China even though the death rate is under reported.

The Fulanis are way above the laws. Yes we understand that some families bear different names.For instance, my friends brother bears their grand fathers names so that the name can live on. He has been using this name right from his primary school days till he finish his Masters.

The bone of contention here is the inconsistencies in the names he used from from his elementary stage of life his life to adulthood. I don't know why we fail to hit the nail on the head and assess situations as it appear.This is why we are where we are..always trying to manipulate issues around situations to appear the way we want it to be and not what it is.

The man in question bears names that are not consistent at different times his his life. How he managed to used all these names using his secondary school certificate into the University and beyond without be troubled to swear an affidavit, beat me..

I know how schools can frustrate your life just because of one strange letter attached to your name which does not reflect in your school certificate. How did he scale through his school/career without any need to do an affidavit on these inconsistent names is really surprising to me.
