Phones › Re: Ten(10) Applications You Must Have On Your Android Smartphone by omojeesu(m): 6:15pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
guydangerous: Being an Android user for over a year now, I felt the need to make a list of applications you should never miss out on your new(or old) Android phone. My list includes the very apps that keeps my own Android phone rocking and rocking.
Z-Player
The best music player so far on Android. Plays mp3, aac, wav, ogg and other sound encodings. I love Z-player for the it’s simple, yet cool features that it offers. It automatically downloads lyrics, album arts, background picture for music files without any of these. Z-player can also play Videos and movies but I only love to use it for playing songs. And oh, Z-player comes with headphone control &madsh; it stops playing once you unplug the headphones and starts playing when you swipe them in again — cool for saving you from embarrassment when that faulty headphone of yours mistakenly pulls out when you are in a public bus.
Mx Player
Another application for playing multimedia files. Mx player can play music files well but it’s main specialty is in playing videos and watching movies. This sick application can zoom videos, resume playback even after you switch off you phone. This app is truly a must-have.
X-plore
You definitely ought to have this File Manager on your Android phone if you need to actually take control of your files. This app let’s you move, copy, backup, edit, compress, unzip, files and folders on your Android phone. I am not a new user of X-plore, used it since the early days of smartphones on my old Symbian Nokia 6600 As far as am know, X-plore is the best file manager on mobile.
Opera Mini Browser
Seamless browser that lets you enjoy a really speedy browsing experience on your Android phone while saving you lots of data — as it receives WEB data in encrypted, compressed format. Opera Mini can also synchronize your bookmarks between devices too.
SwiftKey
Ever feel like typing away on your phone without any mistakes even though you are typing so fast and there should be typos all over your sentences? Well, this app is for you. Swiftkey auto-corrects your silly typing mistakes as you type away so fast. It even guesses( correctly most times) the next word you are about to type and saves you time you could use for our next app.
Angry Birds
This is a game that has been dubbed “the second most popular thing that originated from Finland apart from Nokia”. Believe it or not, you need Angry Birds on your phone. Angry Birds is quite good for clearing your head when you are upset after reading that text from your friend. It’s also very good for passing time whenever you are super bored.
Google Voice
Sick application from Google that lets you “talk to your mobile”. Google voice helps you search for files, apps on your device, make Google searches, with just you talking to the your Android phone.
Maildroid
This app offers everything else your default Android e-mail viewer doesn’t, in a very cool way.
Dx or Du Battery Saver
The only thing this app does for me is to show my exact battery level — which is pretty much important for me.
Avast! Mobile Security
As you know Avast is good for securing your device from trojans, viruses and other threats. The Android version also comes with Firewall, very good for securing your browsing experience.

Christianity Etc › Re: 10 Reasons Why You Should Go To Church! by omojeesu(m): 6:08pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
lagmostkuit: I got thinking about this!
Why do we go to church? What benefit is there in attending church regularly… for me, for you, for others?
Here's my list and we should ponder on it if we've not been going to church.
1. The Bible indicates it’s what we should do. (Hebrews 10:25)
2. You will have the opportunity to worship God.
3. You will likely have some of life big questions answered.
4. Being there will encourage your pastors and leaders.
5. You’ll be encouraged in your walk with God.
6. If you’re single, you may meet someone.
7. If you have kids, it will teach them to value God and His Church.
8. It honours God.
9. Because gathering is part of what makes u a christian.
10. It'll help u acknowledge and confess your sins.
You can add yours

Politics › Re: FG Monitors Nigerians’ Facebook, Twitter Accounts by omojeesu(m): 6:01pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
wapSmart: The Federal Government has been monitoring the social media accounts of Nigerians who are suspected of having links with various terrorist groups, including Boko Haram and the Islamic State of Syria and Iraq, findings bySUNDAY PUNCHhave shown.
Our correspondent learnt that through covert operations, which have been going on for a while, security agencies hack into the Facebook and Twitter accounts of those they are monitoring. The move, it was learnt, was meant to frustrate terrorist attacks on the country.
The project, which is costing the country millions of dollars, is being managed by the Office of the National Security Adviser. Multiple sources, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to inform the press about the security checks, stated that the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan approved the request by security agencies to spy on targeted sections of the population, mainly religious extremists and radicalised individuals.
It was gathered that the project is being coordinated by some foreign firms, including an Israeli firm, Elbit System.
Our correspondent learnt that the local espionage involves hacking of phones, email accounts, social media accounts and bugging of telephone conversations of persons of interest.
A source said, “The surveillance system is not being used to target everyone, as people may want to believe. It is only deployed to get intelligence on specific targets because it would be hard and difficult to use such system to spy on all Nigerians; the amount of data would be too huge and staggering for the assessors to sort and manage.
“Basically, the system is used to hack into emails and phones of targets, and the targets are those who are suspected of having ties with terrorists, whether Boko Haram, ISIS or any other criminal element.”
It was also learnt that the system had greatly assisted security agencies to nip in the bud and also frustrate many terror plots and attacks across the country. The security agencies had been using electronic trackers, which they were used to track and apprehend kidnappers.
But it was learnt that the electronic surveillance system is more effective and has better capacities to hack emails, passwords and social media accounts used by terrorists to recruit members.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, confirmed that security agencies were using a sophisticated surveillance system as part of measures to combat crime and terrorism in the country.
He said, “It is not a new technology. Everywhere in the world, it is used, including drones and other sophisticated equipment. Nigeria is part of the international community; we have our surveillance system, which shows that Nigeria is developing.” Ojukwu said the security agencies respect the rights of Nigerians and were not using the system to hack the phones and computers of innocent Nigerians.
The Department of State Services could not be reached for information on their use of the surveillance system.

Lalasticlala Governments all over the world do it. Over time everyone is monitored, but all will be told only 'extremists' are being monitored. Anyway how do I know that I am not being monitored. It's the end of time to have a One World Government by the New World Order. The surveillance will get wider!! |
Politics › Re: Naira Rain At NASS As Senators Collect N23.4m Each- The Nation by omojeesu(m): 5:53pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
makzeze: •Reps receive N17m each •Two months gone, no bill passed
The Nation(Nigeria) may have spent about N12, 967, 600,000 in two months to maintain National Assembly members, who were inaugurated on June 9, it has been learnt.
The 109 senators got N36.4 million each; the 360 members of the House of Representatives received N25 million each.
The Senators and the representatives were first paid N10milion each in June to ‘cushion’ the difficulty of settling down in Abuja.
The amount, which was to cover their expenses on housing, transport and furniture, cost the public about N4.6billion.
Last month under a pro-rata arrangement for quarterly allowance covering June, Senators got N13. 4 million each and representatives, N7million each.
Since their inauguration, the legislators have gone on recess three times. Before going on break last Thursday, Senators got N13 million each and representatives, N8 million. They have yet to pass a bill since they began sitting in June.
Their inauguration was followed by the controversial emergence of Senators Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu as Senate President and Deputy President.
Yakubu Dogara and Lasun Yusuf were also picked as House Speaker and Deputy Speaker against the wish of their party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Last Wednesday, senators disagreed on the recommendation by the Finance Committee to cut their salary and allowances.
The James Manager-led committee had recommended a 30 percent cut which, if accepted, would have saved tax payers about N2billion yearly .
This translates to N2 million reduction from the N51 million quarterly allowances enjoyed under the 7th Senate or about N874 million saved from each year’s four quarterly allowances alone.
Besides, the representatives’ reduction of their quarterly allowances from N39million to N33 million will save the nation about N2. 1 billion, made up of N6million reduction in each member’s allowances over four quarters.
Some Nigerians have criticised the Senators for rejecting the pay cut proposal even after President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have resolved to slash their salary by 50 per cent.
YEAR 2011 – 2014
SENATE N51million
HOUSE OF REPS N39million
YEAR 2015
SENATE N49million
HOUSE OF REPS N33million
After a two-hour closed door meeting on Wednesday, Senate President Bukola Saraki announced that the Manager committee’s report aimed at reducing salary and allowances, would be stood down. The report, he added, would debated on later date.
Following public criticism over the yearly N150billion budget being enjoyed by the National Assembly over the past few years, members decided to reduce their 2015 budget by N30 billion, to N120billion.
EFCC The Nation learnt that many Senators and representatives have signed documents that could make them vulnerable to inquiry by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-corruption bodies.
According to sources, just like their predecessors, the lawmakers had circulated a template used to ‘account’ for their multi-million Naira allowances.

Family › Re: Woman Accuses Justice Olamide Oloyede Of Snatching Her Husband (Snapshots) by omojeesu(m): 5:40pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
FlirtyKaren: There's an ugly drama brewing on Nigeria Twitter right now. A serving judge of Osun State Judiciary, Justice Folahanmi Oloyede has been accused by another woman named Mrs Emily Richards-Obire of snatching her husband.
Justice Oloyede had a few months ago sent a petition to Osun State House of Assembly calling on the lawmakers to commence impeachment proceedings against the State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola. She was issued a query by the Osun State Judicial Service Commission, SJC, over her petition against Governor Rauf Aregbesola. And now Mrs Emily has written National Judical Council (NJC) accusing Oloyede of snatching her husband.
It is however not clear if Emily's accusation against Justice Oloyede has any connection with the Justice's petition to the Osun State House of Assembly. But Emily is urging the NJC to use their offices to prevent her husband from having an affair. Emily’s petition to NJC continues after the cut.
http://www.lailasblog.com/2015/08/photos-woman-accuses-justice-olamide.html May be true, but why now? Let her go to the courts, not Aregbesola! In fact, the others should do too for defamation of character if they are innocent of the charges!! But this woman by this act may have destroyed her marriage and home. |
