Sports4 Best African Players In The World Right Now (october 2023) by omojoibo(op): 11:08am On Oct 10, 2023
Despite the fact that Africa has not been able to lift the World Cup, the continent in totality is blessed with a lot of brilliant players. Some of these players have been able to record their names in the prominent side of football's history books.

African players such as Liberian George Weah, Nigerian Jay-Jay Okocha and Ivorian Didier Drogba will always be appreciated for their immense contributions to the beautiful game of football.

That said, this listicle will look at things from a different angle and rank the four best African players in the world right now based on current performance.
#4 Victor Boniface (Nigeria)

The Bayer Leverkusen forward is presently enjoying a brilliant beginning to a new season, as he has been deadly in front of goal in recent months.

Boniface is a crisp dribbler who's also relatively enthusiastic with the ball on the pitch. His ball control proficiency is top-notch as it helps him to hold onto the ball. This attracts defenders to him, creating room for his teammates in attack to position themselves properly to score goals.

Boniface has netted nine goals and registered three assists in 10 games for Bayer Leverkusen. The above numbers are even better when compared to that of several big-name African players.

#3 Serhou Guirassy (Guinea)

#2 Victor Osimhen (Nigeria)

A clear replica of Drogba is what Victor Osimhen truly is, as he's very decent when it comes down to finishing. After a successful outing last season in which he won the Scudetto with Napoli, he has proven to be consistent this season. He has netted six goals and registered one assist in 10 games for Napoli.

If he remains consistent, he could probably secure a move to a big-name club such as Barcelona, Arsenal or Real Madrid.

#1 Mohamed Salah (Egypt)

While Salah is not as efficient as he used to be in his early days as a Liverpool forward, he remains one of the best African players in the world.

The former AS Roma winger has netted six goals and registered four assists in 10 appearances for Liverpool this season. It is also key to mention that he has been the most consistent African player in the last four years.

TravelMan Plans Trip To Sydney, Australia — Ends Up In Sidney, Montana. by omojoibo(op): 6:13am On Oct 05, 2023
It was a tale of two Sydneys.

A New York man’s dreams of an idyllic Australian getaway crashed and burned spectacularly after a gross misunderstanding resulted in him flying to Montana instead.

“I saw the little plane with like 9 passengers and wondered ‘how is that going to get me to Australia.’” Kingsley Burnett, 62, told The Post. “That was when I caught onto the mistake I made.”

The New Yorker, who originally hails from Jamaica, had reportedly planned on flying from La Guardia to Australia, where he was slated to take a cruise departing from the warm Down Under metropolis of Sydney, KTVQ reported.

He realized things had gone horribly awry when he landed in Billings and saw snow and a small Cape Air Jet waiting to fly him to Sidney, Montana.

PoliticsTinubu’s Naira Unification Yields Result As Forex Inflows Surge To $2.55 Billion by omojoibo(op):
https://africa.businessinsider.com/local/markets/tinubus-naira-unification-yields-result-as-forex-inflows-surge-to-dollar255-billion/l8rhldg

After the recent unification of the naira's exchange rate, the Central Bank of Nigeria has reported a substantial increase in foreign exchange (FX) inflows, reaching $2.55 billion within two months.
The consolidation of all forex market sectors into a single window has contributed to this growth, with the Investors and Exporters (I&E) window seeing inflows rise from $1.14 billion in May to $1.41 billion in June.
However, the naira's value has faced downward pressure, with a recent record low of N930/$1 due to high demand for dollars. The overall inflows through the Investors and Exporters (I&E) window rose to $1.41 billion in June from $1.14 billion in May, according to figures from the apex bank, marking a second consecutive month of growth, as reported by Nigerian business news publication, Nairametrics.

The bank highlighted that exporters and businesses contributed to the inflows in June. In an effort to increase liquidity and stability, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced in June that all forex market sectors will be combined into a single window.

Different groups throughout the nation have responded differently to the unification of currency rates. Companies have recently published their Q2 financial accounts, and despite increased sales, the majority of them suffered pre-tax losses owing to foreign exchange revaluation losses.

As Nigeria adjusts to the elimination of gasoline subsidies, the price of petrol has increased with the naira unification to N640/ltr. Even though the naira is still falling versus the dollar, analysts think that over the long and medium term, exchange rate unification would boost FX liquidity. Some analysts think that the naira float will attract investment to other areas of the economy.

On Thursday, August 10, 2023, the naira plunged to another record low of N930/$1, as demand for dollars from importers and other end users vastly outstrips supply.

As they continue to bemoan the lack of dollars in the face of increased demand, operators who talked with Nairametrics cited prices as high as N930/$1 as opposed to the N910/$1 that was quoted on Wednesday.

Man goes blind during Guinness World Record attempt

A man who forced himself to cry for seven days says he went temporarily blind as a craze for eccentric feats of endurance sweeps Nigeria.

Guinness World Records has seen a surge in record-breaking attempts from Africa’s most populous nation in recent months, sparked by a chef’s four-day cooking marathon that caught the public imagination.

Tembu Ebere, who has been attempting to weep non-stop for a week, said he had experienced headaches, puffy eyes and a swollen face, and went partially blind for 45 minutes amid his own efforts.

“I had to re-strategise and reduce my wailing,” he told the BBC, adding he was determined to sob towards his target despite the difficulties encountered.

Record frenzy
The record frenzy erupted in May when a chef called Hilda Baci attempted to cook continuously for 100 hours to “put Nigerian cuisine on the map”

PoliticsLawmaker Lauds Fg’s Approval Of Ondo Seaport by omojoibo(op): 10:30am On May 19, 2023
The senator representing Ondo South in the Senate, Nicholas Tofowomo, has joined other Nigerians in congratulating Ondo State on the Federal Government’s approval for the establishment of a deep seaport in the state.

The Federal Executive Council had given the approval for the operating licence for the port at the FEC meeting held at the State House in Abuja

In a statement issued on Thursday, by his media aide, Mr Olumide Akinrinlola, the senator credited the approval of the deep seaport by the Federal Government to the reward of a collective effort made by all the stakeholders.

According to the federal lawmaker, the process of establishment of the seaport project started during the immediate past administration of Dr Olusegun Mimiko while the dream came to reality during the current administration in the state.

He explained that as a senator, he made rigorous efforts in the Senate to make the bill on the seaport sail through in the upper chamber of the National Assembly
