I dont think any serious minded person was expecting them to apologise for raiding the office of the main opposition party. I was expecting them to lie or come out with some lame excuse and they did just that. The DSS and police have become exceptionally partisan so nothing they say or do surprises me anymore.

Some 82lbs (37kg) of gold and 120 million yuan ($19.5 million) in cash has been discovered in the home of a Chinese Communist Party official. The discovery has been termed “shocking” by China’s state news agency.

The official, Ma Chaoqun, used to manage the Beidaihe Water Supply Corporation, which had nearly 200 employees, according to an anonymous government source who spoke to China Daily.

“The amount of money involved in these cases is huge and it happened among the people,” Xinhua said. “The social influence is bad and the masses have reacted strongly.”

Ma has been accused of bribery, embezzlement, and misappropriation of public funds by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in Hebei, according to the Beijing News.

The investigation into his private matters affairs was launched in February, and he was officially fired on February 18.

However, Ma’s case is taking place in the midst of a mass crackdown on corruption in the ranks of Chinese officials, with Chinese President Xi Jinping targeting “tigers” – high ranking corrupt officials – and “flies” alike.

In another stash-of-cash case, prosecutors announced last month that around 200 million yuan had been found hoarded at the home of Wei Pengyuan, a former National Energy Administration official.

Dont mind the morons. They'll come to nairaland and start screaming "Praise the Lord, i slept with 24 hours light for the past 10 days.... GEJ for life". Their brains wont tell them that a country that needs about 30k megawatts and currently generating about 4000 clearly has a shortfall of about 26k megawatts meaning that some 85% of Nigerians are in total darkness. Sometimes i cant help but wonder if they think the fortunes of this country is only about them and their immediate families.

My guy the camera man was not using your regular camera. He was using a hidden camera. Probably a pen camera or one attached to a clip tie. That is why the camera focus was down.

I would have agreed it was a pen camera or something similar but please take a closer look at the video. Whatever it was, the person doing the recording was definitely holding the device. I know what a pen camera looks like and its hard to balance especially when its not pinned to ones pocket. This one was able to take shots of the voters thumb printing the ballot papers at a very close range. Seriously, the whole video is a scam.

Definitely staged. The guy holding the camera was going around freely and non of the other guys there did anything about him. Go to Oshodi and hold a camera at the agberos there and see what they will do to you. Rubbish !!

I was asking myself this same question today. What has he done ?. The Niger Delta is still the same place with the same level of poverty. The roads are still bad and the level of corruption in the country is probably much worse than he met it. His supporters are always quick to point you to this direction and that direction then they end their statements with " All good things starts from somewhere " . What has he done well from start to finish that every Nigerian can say yes he did it.

Any revolution that will end up bringing a northerner will not be supported by the South and any revolution that will end with a southerner in office will not be supported by the North. Whether military or civilian. The distrust is very much alive and continuously force fed by the political elite.
