PoliticsCourt Convicts Governor Sule Lamido's Son For Money Laundering by Omoswags(op): 3:25am On Jul 13, 2013
A Federal High Court in Kano, on Friday convicted Aminu; the son of Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, for money laundering charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Aminu was arrested on December 11, 2012 at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on his way to Egypt for failure to declare the $50,000 in his possession. He only declared $10,000 to the Nigerian Customs Service.
According to a statement by the EFCC Acting Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, Justice Fatu Riman ordered him to forfeit 25 per cent of the undeclared sum of $40,000.
In the course of trial, which started on April 19,the prosecution called four witnesses and tendered documents which were admitted as exhibits.
One of its witnesses, Sanusi Ahmed, who is an operative of the EFCC, told the court that the accused person only registered $10,000 in theNigerian Customs Declaration Form only for a search to reveal that he had $50,000 on him.
He identified the Customs Declaration Form when it was shown to him. The document was accepted by court as exhibit 1.
The defence called two witnesses: the Chief Press Secretary to the Jigawa State Governor, Umar Kyare, and the wife of the accused, Samira Aminu Sule.
In convicting the accused person, the trial court held that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.

cold: Whilst I have personal reservations about the whole gay furore,i find it difficult to fathom why the anti-gay stance is predicated mainly on the premise of religion. Jesus never got married, walked around with 12 men, wore flowing gowns without underpants. Hmm..Ok,i'll say no more
May God punish Judge you.
It's not everything you fool yourself with. I'm guessing you are of the boko haram religion.

EducationPhotos From Ambrose Alli University 2013 Hall Week by Omoswags(op):
The 2013 edition of the AAU hall week saw the occasion bloom up in style as the anticipation was greater than the reality.

The event saw each hostel do their various celebrations and choose their various girls to represent their hostels in the beauty pageant.
Kudirat hostel (girls hostel) cooked unusual rice and invited the school so to say to eat with them, they called it pepper rice. Mariere hostel (boys hostel ) did their specialty , the Unusual beans and also other hostelites were invited to share in the fun.

The gender exchange event took place and saw boys dressing like females with laughable costumes and outfits and such few walked through the hostels from Rev Martins to Igbenedion hostel and down the street with very funny photographs taken

Friday evening saw the AAU hostel week take another dimension as party was held and a group of few girls stole the show with the mask night concept … As it attracted people to their hostel rooms to come and watch and entertain themselves .. Lots of pictures were taken and will be attached accordingly

On Saturday the grand finale of the Hostel week saw a lot of activities occur.
The show was anchored by the undisputed King of Comedy in AAU … Edopikin , Rumours have it he was born with this talent , other say he was born for this , a school of thought even believe he didn’t have to go school to be as far as he already is ..
Enticing lines of hyperbole I might say but he is respected at home ( AAU) and distant places

Musical events by Joules, The award winning artist of the year in the concluded PIRA awards (Prodigy) and the cute youngster Gifty had a wonderful performance, emino too and others.

Beauty pageant was done and girls from various hostel came out as representatives .
After a display of beauty and brain Emotan hostel representative came out as Winner, while that of Igbinedion was first runner up and the Onyregbulem girl came out second runner up.

The SUG Aspirants were asked to launch the hall week cake with random amounts of money which they did. The Dean of Students was present he launched too with ten thousand naira in applause to the crowd.

The event won’t be complete with MC icons in the schools In the likes of
porkopine, Action1 and Mashora assisted Edo pikin and deserved rounds of applause by the students for cool jokes and their presence in general.

The hall week ended in excitement and in thirst for next year's version as people couldn’t get enough of the fun had.
