Properties / Re: Cost Of Building A House In Lekki by omuaran: 5:57pm On Mar 18, 2010
Please indicate where you want the house built and what building materials you prefer.
Do you want a boat house or one on terra firma?
Do you want a mud house, a wood house, a brick house or a reinforced concrete house with steel bars on all windows and doors to keep out those who would come take what you got?

Gaddaffi is spot on.
Let the shariah states form one Arewa Republic,
and the remaining states form a Federation Of Enlightened States
Let It be
So be it.

And of course we will have to draw new boundaries especially above the Niger and Benue Rivers.

Literature / Re: St. Janet Poetic Yoruba Lyrics by omuaran: 9:50pm On Mar 09, 2010
The song is, in the tradition of Juju music, quite long. I have just finished writing down the lyrics,
Yourba is not easy to write or translate for one not formally trained in the language. Trust me I know,
as I am a native speaker but whose parents are not even Yoruba.   All my formal Yoruba training was two years of infant school; the first two years of the Awolowo free primary system.
For those of you wondering, I am an "omo eko"!
It will take a while to translate the entire lyrics, but fortunately,  St. Janet sang the intro in English

Here it is:

Heavenly Lord your name is wonderful
your name is Censele
your name is beautiful
We worship you, for you are mighty
You got the whole world in your hand

You got the whole world, in your hand
You got the whole world in your hand
You got the whole world, in your hand
You got the whole world in your hand

The rest of the song is 99% Yoruba. I will post as I translate, when I get around to it.
However, the most incendiary part, which I think got her banned, are these lines:

Ani, omoge meta lo'n m'oko do
Ani se tun gbo yen ri?
E je ki n'bi yin lere na
Omo oge meta lo'n m'oko do
Kerubu, Cele ati Christ Embassy
Omo oge meta lo'n m'oko do
Excuse me!, I do not have the Yoruba font set on my pc.

English translation, line by line:
Now, only three damsels know how to Zap
Now, have you heard that before?
Let me ask you now
only three damsels know how to Zap
Cherubum, Celestial, and Christ Embassy
only three ladies know how to Zap

You bet the Cherubs, Celes and Christ Embassy folks are not amused!

Stay tuned for the rest, it is very entertaining.

Avatar, Insult Or Exaltation To Nigeria
« on: Yesterday at 12:22:29 AM »

If u've not watched AVATAR the best animated movie in the market, your missing something. I was very enthusiastic to watch this movie, but somehow i felt mortified when i heard the general telling the new scientist (Jake) that "He returned from Nigeria with no scratch, but at the first day in this bush, he sustained that vast mark on his face" Now i wanna know if US is telling the whole world that "Our soldiers are fragile or Nigeria is a battle field" Why can't they mention our name in other good things than war and violence.

The late Attorney Cochran famously said to the jury, "If the gloves don't fit, you must acquit!"   Profound!

Dont claim you know everything. I know what I am saying. Let them put us where we belong. Have you ever seen any aboki or ibo in south-west states? We belong to that region.
But they have Ijaw is South West(hope am right) and Ibo in South South.

Dead right.
And remember, the historic "Mid-west State" which was carved out of the historic Western Region had Ibo people too. Out of this Mid_west State came Delta State, which includes these Ibo, and which is counted as a South-South state.

Also, Ondo State, a South-West state, has Ijaw people.

Really what Nigeria needs is a total restructuring to correct colonial boundaries and reduction of the number of so-called states by moving people of the same ethnic group into the same state when their territory is contiguous.
Size would not matter, if we follow the USA model for state rights and relationships.
Politics / Re: 'Let T B Joshua Heal Your Husband' - Turai Urged by omuaran: 8:44pm On Mar 01, 2010
T B Joshua obviously is a follower Christ, do you think a follower of Mohammed will
believe enough in the infidel Joshua for the healing to take place?

'Cos, now, that will be Joshua's excuse when nothing happens.
Culture / Re: This Woman Explains Why She Hates Being Black! by omuaran: 8:40pm On Mar 01, 2010
Me thinks this woman has no man because she is too choosy!
There are many black men (and men of other races am sure) who will oblige her, at least give her sex and children.
She should start going out, especially to the pubs. She does not have to drink to get drunk, just fake it.
There're many men out in those places who think of nothing but shagging females- tall, short, fat, stringy, white, red, yellow, black, or whatever.
So go girl, go get your share of the men!
And you don't need no husband, the state will help you take care of the kids.

Family / Re: My Husband Is Filing For Divorce by omuaran: 8:15pm On Feb 28, 2010
You and your husband need to be together in one place, either both here or both abroad. If you cannot have  that, then what is the point of your union? If it is not possible for you to stay with him where he is now, then he must return to stay with you.

STOP sending him money. If he can't find a job, and he insists on staying abroad then you can start him in business ( not necessarily because he is your husband ) like a taxi business. Then he can earn a living if he really wants to!

So you are in love? Are you sure it is not this thing St. Janet of St. Bottles Cathedral, Sinners Chapel Campus, sang:

oko mi l'ale oko mi l'oru
oko o ko, oko ku ise
iyanu n'kon t'ose l'abe mi lo jo mi l'oju
Mo dupe ishan osan, mo tun dupe ishan oru
Ishan re ti ki i'ro ni igbekele mi
iyin oko ye o,
bi ose wo mi l'ana yen ni ko ma se
b'ose wo mi l'oru na ni kn ma wo mi

Profound.
Music/Radio / Re: My Album Was Not Meant For Public Release - Lewd Singer Saint Janet by omuaran: 3:44am On Feb 26, 2010
St. Janet's "St. Bottles Cathedral" is the best juju song I've heard in a long time.
In terms of "lewd" lyrics. It is no worse than the lyrics of a certain I K Dairo song,
anyone remember " ele le suke obibo; o di suke, suke suke e"?

The song is an incissive parody of what takes place in Nigeria- no religious affiliation excepted.

How do I know? I am from Lagos, yeah Lagos Island. Lived among Christians "Kiriyo", Moslems "Imale"
and others "Aborisha"who worship in other ways. Attended Moslem and Christians schools. I have seen,
not just heard, people of these faiths behave just like St. Bottles Cathedral Sinners Chapel.
So some of you Nigerians should stop the hypocrisy. The lady has called you out!

To boot, she is a fine singer and excellent lyricist!
