**says former governor under Akeredolu’s pay roll The internal opposition group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state otherwise known as the Unity Forum has rejected the appointment of the pioneer national chairman, Chief Bisi Akande as chairman of the National Reconciliation Commitee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari. The forum which is led by a former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi not only rejected Akande bit accused him of being on the payroll of the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. Aside pummeling the reconciliation committee of the party, the group has condemned the setting up of the Advisory Council set up to guide Ondo State chapter of the party to the path of unity ahead of the 2020 governorship election. The Olanusi group in a communique at the end of its meeting said: ” The Meeting reviewed the replacement of the Senate President with His Excellency Chief Bisi Akande as the Chairman of APC National Reconciliation Committee and pass vote of no confidence on Baba Akande as the Chairman of the Committee. “This is because the said Chief Bisi Akande is on the pay roll of Ondo State Governor and Baba was part of the reconciliation committee that met with the party Leadership in Ondo State in July, 2019 at Heritage Hotel Akure”. “That the Unity Forum condemn the setting up of an Advisory Council in APC Ondo State as the composition of the council did not reflect the real membership spread of the party in Ondo State but the “yes men” and cabinet members of the Governor of Ondo State except in one or two Local Governments. https://ondoupdate.com/ondo-apc-group-rejects-akande-as-reconciliation-committee-chairman-says-former-governor-under-akeredolus-pay-roll/

THE flyover built by the Ondo State Government across the Benin-Ore Expressway at Ore and the Ondo Linyi Industrial Hub are to be inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said on Monday. He was at the State House, Abuja, to invite the President. Speaking with reporters, the governor said: “I came to Mr. President for a specific issue, which is to invite Mr. President to Ondo State for the inauguration of our intersection. “As you all know, I’ll be three years in office on the 24th of this month and the activities lined up to mark our third year in office include having to inaugurate a number of our projects that have been completed. That’s why I’ve come to personally invite him to inaugurate our flyover in Ore.” On the insinuations that he wants to ride on the back of the Operation Amotekun issue to secure a second term, the governor said he has done enough for the people of Ondo State, hence he does not need the Amotekun popularity to be re-elected. He said: “On the forthcoming election, you need to go to Ondo; I know that we have done more than enough. We are in the heart of the people of Ondo State, we don’t need Amotekun to be in the hearts of the people. You need to go there, by the grace of God, not our calling but for what God has enabled us to do in Ondo State is there for you to see.” The governor also took the opportunity to renew his earlier calls for the legalisation of the farming of marijuana, which he said has a lot of economic and health values to the society. “It’s not because I take it; I take CBD, that’s the oil, for medical purposes. I am convinced about the use to which we can put marijuana. “I know of the fact because we had to bring in experts, who have gone round and believe that the strain of marijuana that we grow in Ogbese in Ondo State is the best in the world. So, if you have that then a government must find a way to put it into good use. “Our own is that the pathway to growing marijuana for medical reasons, not for anybody to smoke,” the governor said. https://thenationonlineng.net/akeredolu-makes-case-for-marijuana/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has taken on Balarabe Musa, former governor of Old Kaduna State for saying the establishment of Amotekun security outfit by Southwest governors was a ploy to create Oduduwa Republic. Akeredolu maintained that Musa made the remark against the Southwest out of “ignorance.” Musa, while making the remark had warned that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government must not allow the operation of such a security network, stressing that it falls out of the established laws of the country. He warned that it was a ploy to secure Yoruba land and a prelude to the declaration of Oduduwa Republic. Reacting, Akeredolu, while addressing journalists yesterday in Abuja stressed that the Northern elder-statesman misunderstood the idea behind the launch of Amotekun. He said: “Balarabe Musa spoke out of ignorance. That is the way I see it because he is a respected leader. We all have respect for him and from his days in NEPU and PRP, till when he was impeached as governor, he was a progressive person, and he is still a progressive person. I am sure maybe he was misquoted. For me, such views from him were unnecessary. “It is not possible. In my speech at the launch of Amotekun, I was very clear that this is not a regional army or regional paramilitary and that it is collaborative and that all we want to do is to ensure that our forests and other places, we have men who can go in to arrest these bandits and help the Police in their work. “I remember I said something there that this nation has come to stay, if only for one reason, for my sake it must stay. So, my wife, that is Ibo, if they want to break this country, where would my children go? My wife is Igbo, so where would my own children go? I believe in this country totally. “However, we are committed to restructuring this country. We are not going to say because of Amotekun, we should not restructure; this country must be restructured. We have said so openly, it is there in the All Progressives Congress (APC) constitution and part of our manifesto. Restructuring was stated clearly that we would do it. “Why we have not done it, nobody knows, but we have to. But there have been some efforts to restructure. We can give it to the President, at least, let him take the credit, there have been some efforts at restructuring in one way or the other. So, restructuring is not something we can compromise. “That is the only way for this country. We can’t continue this way. The country is hydra-headed and everybody must feel a sense of belonging and the only way is for us to carry out this restructuring.” https://dailypost.ng/2020/01/25/amotekun-you-are-ignorant-gov-akeredolu-faults-balarabe-musas-position/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

The Governor of Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, on Tuesday, alleged that some Yoruba leaders in the South-West were behind the Miyetti Allah in opposing the newly launched Operation Amotekun in the region. The Secretary of the Miyetti Allah, Saleh Alhassan, had on Channels Television, on Tuesday, criticised the South-West governors on the creation of Operation Amotekun. Akeredolu, who is the Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, said he would not blame the Miyetti Allah’s secretary but the people in the region, who were allegedly colluding with the Miyetti Allah to fight against the South-West security outfit. The governor spoke through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Ojo Oyewamide. He said, “Rather than throwing same stones the arrogant miscreant threw at the governors, we will rather put the blame on those internal collaborators whose parochial political pursuits have beclouded their sense of tomorrow. “Yes, the possibility of an outburst as such can only be seen when a serving senator (from South West), because of his political ambition, would rather demonize Amotekun than support the scheme. “Is it not curious that it was shortly after a supposed senator whose immediate environment is the most affected by insecurity pummeled Amotekun that the federal Attorney-General came out that same evening to issue a statement? “These are the internal collaborators whose vested interest is to sell the South-West out. However, we must emphasise that our unity and cohesion as a nation are two cherished features that we can’t afford to undermine.” Akeredolu reiterated that Operation Amotekun had come to stay and “all legal means will be deployed to achieve same without necessarily affecting our oneness as a nation. Like others elsewhere, Amotekun remains complimentary, it is not a regional force”. https://punchng.com/internal-collaborators-aiding-miyetti-allah-to-oppose-amotekun-akeredolu/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

The Chairman of the South West Governors’ Forum and Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Sunday, stressed that the region’s newly launched security outfit codenamed, ‘Operation Amotekun’ was to complement the efforts of the conventional internal security agencies in the region. Akeredolu said that the Operation Amotekun was neither a regional army nor one established to carry out unwholesome ethnic objectives which may undermine national cohesion. The governor stated this in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo. Akeredolu warned people against making divisive statements that were capable of rubbishing the genuine intentions of South-West governors. READ ALSO: Operation Amotekun: Ignore FG, Jemibewon, Oyinlola, others tell govs He said, “Amotekun, when fully operational, would serve the purposes of local information and intelligence gathering for processing and usage by the conventional security agencies. Amotekun is, therefore, supportive and not a replacement for the nation’s security agencies. “The concerns expressed by individuals, agencies of government and several stakeholders are noted without bias. Where possible, the inexorable efforts of the Southwest governors will be deepened through a relentless interface. “As such, as interface and engagements continue, it is pertinent to say that the on-going discourse on the issue of Amotekun must not be misguided or used to ventilate personal or group views aimed at oiling primordial sentiments and grievances. Ethnicing the current situation is even more unhelpful. There should be no reason for such. “This is more so that the Amotekun scheme is not targeted at any non-Southwest ethnic group just as its benefits are to be reaped by all Nigerians irrespective of ethnic or religious placements.” The governor expressed confidence that the South West governors will not capitulate to blackmail either from within or outside the region, insisting that the governors were ready “to pursue the Amotekun security scheme through all permissible political and legal means”. https://punchng.com/amotekun-not-for-ethnic-agenda-akeredolu/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Friday told the Niger Delta Development Commission to complete its abandoned projects in the state and forget about starting new ones. Akeredolu stated this in Akure when the Minister of State for Niger Delta, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, paid him a courtesy visit as part of the commission’s tour to inspect its projects in the region. Akeredolu said, “We don’t need new projects; the abandoned ones on ground should be completed,” adding that the “state is ready to cooperate fully with” the NDDC to complete the abandoned projects. “There are so many abandoned projects in Ondo and also projects that overlapped. It cannot continue like this,” he said. The governor, however, lauded the forensic audit embraced by the commission, saying it was very important for it to complete its many abandoned projects in the region. The minister had lamented that things were done with impunity in the ministry in the past. According to Alasoadura, in the past, nobody was reporting to anybody in the commission and while huge amounts had been disbursed by the commission on projects, there was nothing to show for it. Alasoadura said, “It cannot continue to be business as usual. As of today, NDDC has close to 12,000 abandoned projects, so if we decide to start awarding contracts again, we will be adding to the problem on ground. “So, we decided (to complete the ongoing ones) and the president agreed that we should go for what we call legacy projects, and the first one is the Ilaje-Lagos link road.” https://punchng.com/forget-new-projects-complete-abandoned-ones-akeredolu-tells-nddc/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin OluwaRotimi Akeredolu, SAN has ordered the reabsorption of 59 sacked workers of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, into the state’s civil service. The workers were teaching at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Staff Primary and Secondary Schools, before their sacking following the authorities’ inability to financially run the schools. The statement read in part, “The governing council representative appealed to the union to see the magnanimous gesture of the state governor in directing that the disengaged staff school members be absorbed into the (state) primary and secondary schools as an opportunity for them as they can rise to the position of principal and head teacher in no time because they will be replaced where their contemporaries in the teaching service are.” https://punchng.com/akeredolu-orders-reappointment-of-sacked-ondo-poly-workers/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Ondo PDP finally found something to say after all this while. Don't blame them not when the party’s strength has been decimated and deflated in Ondo State through the outstanding performance of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in the last two years and a half years in Ondo State. How can you accuse a government that has improved on healthcare delivery; employed hundreds of workers; pays salaries and pensions; constructed and rehabilitated roads and schools across the three senatorial districts as an anti-people? |

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has commissioned the newly-built Critical Care Unit (CCU) Building at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Complex (UNIMEDTHC), Akure, the state capital. The Governor also laid the foundation of a new main teaching hospital complex, as part of his determination to make the teaching hospital in the state a world-class modern tertiary facility. According to Arakunrin Akeredolu, Ondo State was hitherto the only State without a tertiary health care facility among the South western states in Nigeria. He noted that the state has not only surpassed the other States in terms of improvement in health delivery indices, but has also gotten accreditation in all its clinical service departments in a record time of one year. ”We have equally reversed the trend of Ondo State indigenes and residents of the State seeking tertiary health care outside the State.” the Governor said. Arakunrin Akeredolu explained that his administration passed into law the establishment of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Complex (UNIMEDTHC, adding that the Law amalgamated existing specialist hospitals to form a Multi-Complex Teaching Hospital, named University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Complex for the already existing University of Medical Sciences. He said:” We ingeniously sourced medical equipment at a reduced cost to cover identified infrastructural gaps in all our hospitals. This has improved diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities of all our public hospitals. ”We passed into Law the Primary Health Care Bill to empower the Primary Health Care Board to carry out its work more effectively and efficiently. This will also position us to benefit from the National Basic Health Fund which will, in turn, improve the health wellbeing of our citizens at the community level. ”The State Government, in order to improve the capacity of our primary training Health Institution in the State has also upgraded the School of Health Technology, Akure into a degree-awarding College of Health Technology. The college is now better positioned to train health personnel. We intend to improve the infrastructural facilities at the College. ”We passed into law the bill incorporating the School of Nursing and Midwifery into the University of Medical Sciences. This singular act has enriched the training of our nurses in compliance with the aspirations of the Nursing Councils.”Following the amalgamation of the facilities, we have reorganized, restructured and embarked upon building new structures to have a modern and standard teaching hospital. ”We have also recruited highly qualified personnel to match the upgrade in the facility. We have recruited over 750 personnel across board. ”We are also providing more ambulances, buses and services vehicles to ease movement of staff and patients across the three complexes of the Teaching Hospital. ”We have also decided to acquire some neighbouring buildings to allow for further expansion of the Akure Complex of the Teaching Hospital. These buildings are too close to the hospitals and the occupants are in possible health jeopardy.” Olabode Richard Olatunde Special Assistant to the Governor (New Media) December 3, 2019

They said Governor Akeredolu reportedly took money from the state purse to celebrate his daughter's wedding but what they are ignorant of is that, the husband of the Governor’s daughter, Olatunde is a successful dude and a business partner of Peter Psquare from a very long time coming. Long Arakunrin Akeredolu became Governor. For a man who happens to be a business partner & close pal to some of the top Artistes in Nigeria, what is Mauritius, a country in the East Africa that he cannot go to celebrate his wedding. How many normal families have weddings in Barbados, London etc without a word said? On Governor Akeredolu's part, this is a successful legal luminary who Co-founded a law firm. A former President of the NBA. A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. And people now think someone of this calibre cannot afford to celebrate his daughter's wedding at Mauritius? A country half the population of Ondo State. Besides, a destination wedding for 150 guests is always wayyyyy cheaper than a Nigerian wedding where you have to plan for 3000 people because if the Governor doesn't invite at least 100 people from each ward, they will fight him Nigerians, start checking yourselves abeg. You may be broken, unreasonable, unfair, negative, frustrated and abnormal yet not know it. All these poverty mentality must end in 2019.
