Two men have been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service on Wednesday after three consignments containing 140 species of snakes and 660 other animals imported into Nigeria from Cameroon were intercepted. According to reports, the containers were brought in aboard a Cameroonian vessel tagged ‘MV Flesh’ through the Calabar waterway to the National Inland Waterways Authority jetty in Calabar, Cross River State.

The other animals which were identified as geckos, millipedes, hairy frogs and spiders, were said to be worth N6.9m.

Customs Area Comptroller in charge of Calabar Free Trade Zone, Cross River and Akwa Ibom Command, Mrs. Nanbyen Burromvyat, said the consignments were intercepted by vigilant officers on July 24 on arrival at the NIWA jetty.

She said that the consignments, which were Lagos-bound, are prohibited items under the Schedule 3 of the Revised Import Prohibition List (Trade) in the Common External Tariff.

Without opening the containers for possible fear of escape, Burromvyat immediately handed over the items and the two suspects arrested to authorities of the Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services for further investigations.

No.. You are getting it wrong! Dubai is an extremely Rich Emirate among the 7 Emirates of UAE. No matter how rich a place is, especially a tourist densed area, there would be a suburb for the extremely low income expat who forced and struggle their life to live in.. call it slum or say 'the ghetto area', same thing in Paris, Berlin, Tokyo or what have you.. Now Dubai for example is Rich, no doubt. Extraordinarily Rich.. Our Nigerian People are plenty over there so we know whatsup. You dont excpect everybody to go there and make it.. so because you go there and suffer the hell out of you life (which may not have happened to you while you sit 'jeje' in Nigeria) doest mean some are not enjoying the bastard money there.. En Plus, You will never see an Emirati 'A UAE Arab ' in such a way of life butrayed in those pictures.. i.e queieng for the public toilet, barbing beside the wastebin or smotching around demonstrating poverty.. Never.. Instead the Emiratis are there 'rubbing their faces with bundles of dollar, Dinars and Dirhams'.

An attempt to rob a white man behind Fidelma hotel, independent layout in Enugu State has just be foiled by men of the Nigerian mobile police! This happened less than an hour ago.

An eye witness claimed the robbers were two, they were already robbing some cars in from of the white man when his personal security opened fire against them. Shortly, help came from mobile police men who were around the area.

The criminals tried to zoom off but one was unlucky as he was shot on his laps by one of the mobile police men. He has been taken away to police station.

According to multiple online reports, this young boy was sent to Islamic school in Zaria, Kaduna from Ɓoko village in Zamfara State. His teacher allegedly put chain on him and sent him to beg for food to eat. The name of the Mallam is Sufi, at Rimin Tsiwa quarters in Zariya City Kaduna State.

Photos of the boy have been shared online in order to call the attention of the authorities. The Islamic School is adjacent to Alhaji Sani Rimin Tsiwa house.
